I stumbled across this at TJmaxx for $4.99, I have read good reviews about it, so I bought 2. I normally use a few alcohol free, or witch hazel type toners from Dickinson’s or Andalou Naturals, or a mix of water with Bragg’s ACV… this Humphrey’s has been a great addition to my routine. I’m 48 yo, combo skin, no acne, and no acne scars, so I look for a toner to balance my skins ph level, and clean out any dirt left behind after cleansing, and this does that well…without drying out the skin. Definitely recommend. ❣????????

I’ve gone through countless bottles of this toner. I use it morning & night: as the first step of my AM skincare/makeup routine & the first step of my PM skincare routine after showering. Paired with a cotton round, it effectively removes any trace remnants of makeup that are left on the skin even after a double cleanse, & helps to restore the skin’s PH balance (which may be thrown off after cleansing.) The scent is light & pleasant. The price is cheaper per fluid oz than Thayer’s. While my skincare routine isn’t particularly elaborate, a few of the products are definitely more on the expensive side. Luckily, I can lower the overall cost of my skincare routine by incorporating a cheap yet brilliantly effective toner.

This is the one product in my skincare routine that I can’t do without and honestly don’t see myself ever changing. Whenever I run out of this and don’t use it for a few days in a row, I get texture on my skin. I don’t know what it is about this toner. It claims to be redness reducing and I don’t know about that. I just use this after cleansing at night and as my first step in my morning skincare. When I’m using it I don’t break out and my skin feels amazing.

I’ve used this toner for over a year now and won’t try any others. I get it at a local health food store. It costs $6 for 8fl oz. I love that it’s alcohol-free because alcohol is drying and can cause aggravation, especially for acne-prone skin. This toner isn’t like that. Putting it on my face feels refreshing. I squeeze some on a cotton ball and apply it that way. This doesn’t cause irritation, nor does it leave any kind of sticky or oily feeling on the skin. The cucumber melon scent is nice. For almost 25 years I never used a toner… I’ll never go back to that life again. For me, this is now a crucial step in between cleansing my face and going in with the rest of my skincare routine. Toning really balances out the skin’s pH and I can tell a difference when I’m using a toner vs. when I’m not. This stuff claims to reduce redness.. not sure about that because I don’t have an excessive amount of redness to begin with. But if you need a quality toner that won’t break the bank then I’d recommend this. I’ve gone through many bottles and will continue to repurchase.

I purchased this product a few months ago on a quest to get rid of the terrible problem with breakouts which, as a 24 year old woman, I’d never dealt with to that extent in my life.
I’d also never used a toner in my life and figured it might be time, seeing as it’s a pretty basic staple in most skincare routines. I picked up this one on a whim after skimming through the ingredients and finding them promising (including witch hazel, aloe vera, and green tea extract) and also after smelling the contents of the bottle and finding the scent to be pleasant.
I attribute the somewhat dramatic improvement in my complexion largely to this toner. The price is EXTREMELY affordable… if I remember correctly I got it for around five dollars for an 8 oz. bottle. The scent is refreshing cucumber melon and while it DOES linger on the skin for a while after you use it, it smells good so it’s not a problem. I don’t notice it but my boyfriend does when he’s close to my face, and he likes it. The packaging makes this product extremely easy to use and it’s also nice to look at on my sink.
So now on to what really matters… how this stuff works. On days where I’m wearing a lot of makeup, no matter how thoroughly I wash my face, when I use this toner immediately afterwards there still always manages to be some leftover makeup residue on the cotton swab that I use to apply it. NOW I see why I was breaking out so badly. My face feels cool, tingly, and refreshed after I use this. No oily film or greasy residue is left behind on my skin. Since it contains no alcohol it is not drying at all. Here are the claims:
Calms & Tones
Soothes Redness
Smoothes Blotchiness
Alcohol & Paraben Free
Redness Reducing
In my experience, all of those are true. My skin just feels so much more balanced. I still get a pimple here and there but they are not as severe as what I was dealing with and they go away much more quickly.
Also, I have noticed an improvement in the appearance of my acne scarring since using this product.
I will definitely repurchase this. Grateful that the first toner I tried was one that I now consider a holy grail product.

I just want to start off saying that I use the citrus version of this toner that’s specifically for oil control.
I use this every morning and night after washing my face. It took about two or three weeks to see a difference in my skin, but it DOES make a difference.
I notice that I am less shiny throughout the day, but I have extremely oily skin and I don’t think any product will change that. This toner smells AMAZING, like fresh oranges, and it feels nice on the skin–no tightness or dryness. My pores are more refined after using this too.
I have already repurchased this, and I will continue to do so in the future!

I enjoy the mild, refreshing scent of this toner and how conditioning it is. The scent always reminds me of my mom, probably because she always applied aloe-scented cream or lotion at night, and so this scent I associate with mom, which is a nice feeling. Unlike regular witch hazel, this toner feels a bit slippery when applied, most likely due to aloe. It does leave a bit of a residue, but I like that it conditions. I would wash off the skin in the evening, and the toner would come off a bit slippery at first, meaning it stays on the skin all day. I apply this toner on my chest most often. I used to apply it on my face in the morning, as a moisturizer, but it has consistently made my face red (I have normal, non-sensitive skin). In that sense, I haven’t found that this toner reduces redness… It does certainly condition, and witch hazel in it, among other ingredients, helps to heal the chest rash I get every once in a while. I got it for $5.49 (8 oz) at the local co-op, which seems to be a very reasonable price for all the natural ingredients. Packaging is very pretty. I have purchased it twice, and will again.

I really do not like this product. I wanted to, because I had read such good things about witch hazel, and I specifically looked for one that was alcohol free, trying to be nice to my skin, hoping that it would start being nice back to me. This product does not make my skin nice. I didn’t have a terrible reaction to it and I don’t think it makes my acne worse, but it leaves a weird, sticky feeling residue on my face which is really annoying. I feel like after I use a toner if I run my hand over my cheek it should feel completely bare and baby soft and smooth. I’m pretty sure that’s the whole purpose of a toner – to pick up anything your cleanser missed and leave you completely clean. After sweeping this over my skin with a cotton ball, it just feels weirdly sticky and oily. I hate the feeling.

I LOVE this toner, so refreshing! I ran out, and thought I would try a different Witch Hazel w/ Rose toner, and I want to go back to Humphreys. I will when I use this one up. Very economical, and amazing for my acne prone skin. All natural, what more can you ask for. I plan on putting some in a spray bottle and use as a face spritz during the HOT summer! LOVE THIS STUFF. PLUS, if you order from iherb.com, use code: XON769, you will get $5.00 off your first order. And, free shipping on U.S. orders over $20.00, and no tax! AWESOME! =)

I just adore this witch hazel. I have been using it for years now. I use it as a toner on my face daily. Goes on nice and gets my skin all ready for my moisturizer. : )
