This product completely turned my skin around several years ago, and I’ve remained loyal to it ever since! I inherited my fathers extremely oily skin, and had continuous severe acne and blackheads. I was allergic to many products, and the rare few I could use did little or no good. Even tetracycline didn’t help much. This continued through adulthood. Thankfully, a coworker mentioned this tonic to me.
It has 3 ingredients, smells a little like vodka (that dissipates in seconds) and is strong—it’s for BHA or AHA experienced skin. The first night I used it it burned just a little. I’d used up to 5% of another brand before but that other brand contained glycols that made my skin greasy. This GOW BHA Tonic left my skin clean.
I woke up the next day with substantial clearing. Redness was reduced, large pimples were much smaller, some blackheads came out with gentle assistance. I used this every night for several months. My skin completely cleared up. My blackheads left and never came back. My bad acne scaring lessened considerably!
Over a few months my family couldn’t believe the difference. And neither could I! The one drawback of the great product is that it can cause dryness and pealing. There’s a gentler version which is excellent (pH of 3.2), but I wanted to continue the results this version gave my skin. I’d never had clear skin before and I wasn’t gonna let s little pealing or dryness stop my newfound progress!! This did not flair my rosacea, nor my skin allergies.
Over time, my scarring faded drastically and my acne completely stayed away. If only I’d discovered this years earlier!! My skin suddenly changed when I turned 55 and I require a bit of moisture and some anti-aging measures now. I started using the GOW Majik Green Tea Hydrosol after cleansing, and my skin loves it.. that keeps My rosacea at bay. I no longer need to use this BHA tonic daily, instead I use it 2-3 times per week. In the humid summers I now use the milder version on the days between.
This BHA Tonic did what nothing else could do for my face. And now I’m stocking up because it’s being discontinued. This product holds a very special place in my heart (and my cupboard. I highly recommend!! (Not affiliated!!)

I love this product! I use it as a toner to take off the last remaining bits of my long wearing foundation. I am using the 2% in the 1.9 pH level. I have been through a few of the 8 ounce bottles since I’ve started using it about almost a year ago, and I definitely notice a difference in my skin. I do have PIH and some shallow scars, but I use this salicylic acid product to prevent the clogging of my skin..like those annoying skin colored bumps. I love the simple formulation (no PG yucky feeling) and the different percentages and pH level choices they have. Aside from the excellent formulation, the customer service at GoW is absolutely outstanding. I e-mailed them regarding an order I placed, and I got a response super quick. They remedied my situation and followed up with me accordingly. Jen and Markey made my shopping experience very helpful and pleasing! I am going to try their BHA/AHA exfo tonic next..I can’t wait!! I have been using the 5% solution by mixing 4 parts to 1 part Lily of the Desert AV gelly for many months. I decided that I needed a stronger concentration than that available from PC exfoliants and without all of the other extraneous ingredients. This works better, more reliably than other 2% salicylic acid products – completely clears up the keratosis pilaris (chicken skin appearance) on my chest and prevents any pimples (yes, even at my age I still experience bouts of chest and back acne). Mixing it with AVG makes it easier to apply because after a few days the solution becomes thicker and it seems to decrease the alcohol smell. I just pat it on the designated areas once per day. If I skip a few days then I notice the reappearance of the KP. Looks like this is an HG for me! I purchased the largest-size bottle available – it’s a little more economical than buying the smaller size. Wish I had this when I was a teenager.

Amazing. Simply amazing results. I have acne and sensitive skin. I can’t use most topicals but salicylic acid is one exception. This product far exceeds any 2% s.a product found in stores. After one application, and 8 hours of sleep, my skin saw a 50% improvement in little spots and bumps, and 80% redness reduction. It was also extremely moisturized. Blackheads were easier to remove, everything seemed like it was loosened and able to be cleared out. I’ll be using this along with the Mandelic Acid to help my skin battle acne, hyperpigmentation, and to keep those fine lines at bay.

this is a very basic salicylic acid treatment. it’s a liquid, like a toner but very strong. it smells of alcohol-i find it slightly irritating to my skin, so i only use it on my blackheads. it cleans them out completely and that’s all that matters to me! since you only need a tiny bit to do the job, this bottle is lasting forever. they also make a “natural ” salicylic acid product that seems to work as well, without the alcohol scent. garden of wisdom has very good customer service, by the way.

Decades ago I used Clinique’s Soap and Clarifying lotions, and for a time my skin looked spectacular. However eventually, my skin got too irritated by the lotion, and I moved on to other cleansing routines.
Recently– much older now, skin much more sensitive too– I decided to try GoW’s Beta Exfo Tonic, because they come in a wide range of strengths and acidity levels, and because they have no other irritating ingredients. Eureka, the salicylic wasn’t the problem, must have been one or more of the other ingredients. GoW’s Beta Exfo Tonics are simple and effective, no irritation yet (I’ve been using the 3.2pH version, the gentler level) and they have brought back that clarity I remember from younger years. Simple, simple, simple– just 5 ingredients (water, organic grape alcohol, salicylic acid, sodium bicarbonate (a buffer) and a non-paraben preservative.) Perfect.
