I am combination skin with random dry spots across my face and the sales assistant had recommended this. I usually always use it with the Chanel Micro Serum but when my bottle finished and I was using it on its own it was horrid. Sticking to all my dry spots even to an extent that I couldn’t even put on makeup without it flaking off. Would probably recommend this to the ladies out there with combination-oily skin! It is quite pricey for your average toner and it’s definitely no SK-II facial treatment essence. It is such a waste of a product as I now have 3/4 of this just collecting dust. Never repurchasing, will definitely just keep using Bioderma

“A fresh, light toner for normal-to-combination skin with the de-polluting power of Tulip Tree Extract and the emollient properties of Mallow Extract. Gently purifies while respecting skin’s eco-balance, with velvety-smooth, radiant effects. ”

I have combo/oily, easily dehydrated, aging skin that breaks out easily from any product that comes near it.
This toner works for my skin. It leaves my skin feeling soft, clean & hydrated.
I don’t know that it is a miracle product, but I like the way it feels & will continue to use it.

I was sold this on the basis of it being a gentle toner that would hydrate my skin and prep it for my moisturiser. I was then surprised to find it was laden with alcohol that is neither gentle, nor hydrating. Alcohol causes dryness and irritation, and after discovering this, my bottle was empty and I had used the whole damn thing! However it didn’t cause me much irritation, my skin did feel more dry than usual on second thought. Would not purchase again on the basis of it having alcohol in it. It has a nice scent though, probably to cover up the alcohol smell.

If you check my other reviews on Chanel, I would try to review products that I have from Chanel, because I love the brand and as I said, my mom forbids me to buy drugstore skincare, so I just follow her when she buys me skincare and makeup 🙂
I have the Hydramax gel creme, and this toner, + tons more.
I have normal-combination skin now, and this toner makes my face squeaky clean after I use the Chanel Lait confort which is a milky makeup remover.
the toner smells ok and it’s quite moisturising which is great for the winter but bad for the summer.. I use this with the chanel ” Le Coton” and wipe across my face and it’s clean! 😀
but I really dont think this product deserves to be that expensive, I mean it’s just a toner..
and in case you guys are wondering, i’m fourteen 🙂

I really can’t understand how a product like that (does nothing special) can cost so much.
it gave me breakouts and made my skin oily, at least smells nice….but i can buy a good toner for the half of the price, like Caudalie’s or L’occitane toner.

This toner really does deserve 5 lippies. It is practically perfect on all counts. The packaging is of a very high quality as you would expect from Chanel and the opening is a very small hole which makes it easy to squeeze out just the right amount (no wastage = value for money). Now as for the toner itself, it goes on easily and isn’t drying or oily (perfect for my slightly oily T zone and dry cheeks. I also have very sensitive skin that reacts to ALOT of products and after 2 weeks using this toner I am happy to say my skin is looking better than ever. My new HG toner!

I decided to buy this toner after having a skincare and make-up trial at the Chanel Counter, as it made my skin look really clear. At home, after using it twice I woke up in the morning with my face covered in small blisters that were itchy, my face was burning and looked sore. I was really worried as I had just started using Chanel products (inc the foundation) . On the third day my blisters went down but my face was still sore and felt very sensitive, with patches. I went and told the lady at the Chanel counter this and has agreed to refund me and sent the toner to Chanel. My advice to anyone that is going to buy this is to ask for a sample to try at home before you buy!

This toner is ugh! It feels sticky after application. I got a sample of this after recommendation from a Chanel MUA, and I later realised that she’d recommended this toner for an oily/combination skin which is all wrong. I ended up purchasing the Purete toner instead, which is far better than this. Do not purchase this toner; ask for a sample instead. Only if you’re overwhelmed by its performance, I’d suggest going for it.

I had used a sample of Activateur Tendre (Alcohol-free soothing toner) and it was an excellent toner, so I went to buy the full size bottle. At the Chanel counter I was told that this have been discontinued and replaced by Lotion Douceur, so I got this. I am very disappointed. It didn’t do any harm to my skin, it just didn’t do anything at all. It was like rubbing my face with clear water, for which I paid 40 euros / 200 ml (I consider it to be VERY expensive for a toner, since at the same price I purchase here 30ml of my Guerlain moisturizer!). I didn’t notice any good result on my skin by using this toner neither any soothing effect. It didn’t make my skin supple and I didn’t experience this feeling of crystal clear skin, that I had with other toners (you can see what I mean in my review of YSL Hydra Feel Fresh Hydrating Lotion). Unfortunately, this is my experience with Chanel skincare in general; while their makeup is exquisite, their skincare products are very expensive for what they offer.

This is the best toner I’ve ever used! Of course, I had my dear MA pointing out to me the benefits of using toner on a regular basis to clear out my pores. She was right! I have far less breakouts now, and my skin is much softer. One of the great things about this product is that it is a little bit hydrating, so I don’t feel the need to slather on moisturizer as I used to. It also does not smell at all like alcohol–a big bonus. I gave the packaging quality a 3 because it does come in a big plastic bottle, and it lasts for a long time (another great thing about Chanel products–a little really does go a long way and they give you a large amount).
