The “Ivory to Fair” shade is one of the very few tinted moisturizers/BBs/CCs that is not too yellow and too dark for my skin. It can initially look shiny sometimes, but I let it set for five or ten minutes and then buff it with a fingertip and it looks very natural.

so I really can’t rave about this product enough. honestly, it’s the only “foundation” product that actually works for me. the only thing I don’t like about it is that it’s incredibly sheer coverage. I understand that it’s just a tinted moisturizer, however I have to apply 2 layers to get coverage, and let it sit and soak into my skin for it to really even me out. that being said, it smells good, glides right on with my fingers, and makes my skin glow and stay even almost all day when set with my rimmel sty matte powder. I’ve repurchased this twice, hunted for something I like better, and always come back to this. great for sensitive or combo skin.

I love that physicians formula made an organic makeup line, but this product just doesn’t work well with my skin. I have combination skin, but I’m slightly on the oily side. and this makeup just felt too oily on my skin after a little while. It wasn’t too bad, I just had to blot more and add a bit more powder than normally, but I won’t repurchase.
However I would like to say that this product didn’t break me out at all. And I have super sensitive acne prone skin, most makeup breaks me out. But I was able to go through the whole bottle with no issues.

So this summer I’ve been all about tinted moisturizer. Infact, I haven’t even worn foundation since May. I was using the PF CC cream, until I purchased this. The CC cream has great coverage and it makes the skin look amazing. I wanted to try the organic range though and this TM seemed to have decent reviews.
I have combo dry skin, even in the summer and I don’t do powder, basically ever. I don’t need high coverage and I love dewy, highlighted skin. This product allows for the dewy moisturized skin I want without the greasiness. The thing I have found a lot of that some times tinted moisturizers don’t absorb even into dry skin, it will just coat the skin and be gross. This absorbed and while it looks dewy it didn’t feel that way. To each skin type their own experience though. It’s got a nice creamy slightly liquid texture, a light scent, it’s a little bit like tanning lotion, but it has a bit of a herbal side. It doesn’t linger though.
The coverage is light, as expected and it is ideal for me. I went out in 35 degree sun for the day and still looked good and didn’t melt off. The only downside to this is that in Canada our sunscreen requirements differ from our friends in the south (USA) and my tint doesn’t have any SPF. It’s $16.99 as well. I got mine on sale for $11.99 though. I have heard rumor that it does contain sunscreen but its just not labelled on canadian products, but I personally doubt this. I emailed PF and they said there isn’t any sunscreen in the ones that are not US. ehhh whatever the story, I will use mine happily and a separate sunscreen.
Overall, a super good product that you feel good about using on your skin. I appreciate the fact we have an accessible line good products that is made with out nasty chemicals. (not the entire line, but the organic wear)

As a tinted moisturizer, this product is not designed for total coverage. It is designed to help even out skin tone and gives an opaque coverage. It is light and will not collect in wrinkles. Remember to shke well before using. If your skin is very dry, as mine is, you’ll need to moisturize first. I also use a primer that helps reflect light and minimize the appearance of wrinkles. I like an organic product with sunscreen and light coverage that I can buy at the drug store.

(copied from my light-natural review + updated)
I bought this today in my (thus far) never-ending quest for the right BB cream/tinted moisturizer.
I haven’t actually put it on my face yet; my skin is still recovering from an unfortunate reaction with another product and I wanted to give it a bit of a breather.
That said, I did test it on the back of my hand and so far I’m very pleased with this tinted moisturizer. I absolutely love the way it feels on my skin (fingers crossed it feels just as nice on my face) and the smell! Goodness gracious I’m in heaven. I love herbally/earthy smells and lavender is amazing and relaxing and soothing for me. I bet I could take it out in my front yard and smell it and the lavender we have and smell no difference. It was quite strong at first- not that I minded- but the smell faded fairly quickly.. not more than the 10 minutes it took me to drive home from CVS.
Reading other reviews here, I was forwarned about the runny consistency and so that didn’t cause too much of a problem.
The color was a bit too dark for my hand but I imagine it’ll be fine on my face. I did notice some slight oxidation but nothing too dramatic.
I will definitely update this once my skin has calmed down and I can safely put it on my face.
UPDATE 3/16/14: The color I originally purchased was way too dark for my face (even for my summer skin) so I returned it. Went to Ulta and bought the lightest shade they had (fair-light). It looked like it was the right shade, just the wrong undertone. Waaaaaay too pink for me. 🙁 Such a shame, because I really liked literally everything else about it. If there were more colors to choose from I would definitely repurchase but until that happens I’ll have move on to something else.

I love tinted moisturizers because they’re quick, easy and look natural. I’m trying to buy mostly natural products, so I decided to give organic wear a try. Previous to this I was using the CG TM/BB cream. This is decently moisturizing for my dry skin, and so I don’t need to apply any moisturizer underneath it. As long as I apply a bit of powder to my t-zone, I don’t find that this makes me too oily (it’s definitely less oily than the CG one). The shade fair/light oxidizes to a peachy undertone that doesn’t match my skin. This does set quickly, so I only apply it to one section of my face at a time. The lasting power is about the same as most tinted moisturizers and I find that this provides fairly light coverage. The smell doesn’t really bother me since it goes away right away and isn’t a bad smell to start with. It is very difficult to get the correct amount of product from the bottle, as it is very runny. Overall, I’m glad Physicians Formula is coming out with natural products, however the shade, blendability and packaging for this product is lacking.

This powder is okay. I really liked it, it was perfect for a setting powder and a light coverage foundation. It feels good on and good to the touch. But here is the major complaint: it transfers like crazy! I have had it transfer onto my phone, my fiances shirts and even onto my hands if I touch my face! This would be better if it didn’t have this problem and that is why I will not repurchase.

Honestly, I am so back and forth with this powder. I have had it for about three years now. This is because I originally purchased a light shade and then decided it was too light and purchased a darker shade. When venturing to other make up products, I used the lighter shade as a concealer and when wearing this alone I used the darker shade that was a better match.
There are many tips and tricks I can share about this powder because I’ve been wearing it for so long. If it is too powdery or cakey looking on you, there are 2 options to fix this. One is to get your facial moisturizer, rub some between your hands, and press/pat your hands onto your face over the powder (be careful not to use a rubbing motion or it will smear the make up, just press into your face). I like doing this in the winter when my skin is dryer and more welcoming of extra moisturizer. If you’d like, you can use a sheer matte finishing powder after this process to keep shine away. I sometimes do or sometimes don’t depending on if I mind the dewy look. The second option to fix cakey/powdery look is better for oily skin and in hot whether. I use a setting spray over the powder when I’m done with it. Originally I used E.L.F.’s setting spray, but the formula breaks me out. Now I have water in the E.L.F. bottle that I use instead.
For those that find this powder does not control oil adequately, I find that using a sheer matte finishing powder works wonders. I currently use Everyday Mineral’s finishing powder (because I bought a kit from them and I want to use it up, it’s not spectacular but it does the job). There is Rimmel Stay Matte for $3 at Walmart, there is the $5 Palladio rice-powder that is at Sally’s Beauty Supply/Ulta that a friend of mine raved about, and there is the $6 E.L.F. studio HD powder which I’ve also heard is great. I, personally, will be trying out the E.L.F. powder when I am through with what I have. I prefer to press the powder onto the face for a good finish with a flat-top brush.
For those that want to have more coverage, but only want to use this powder on the face, the method that works best for me is to buff 2 layers of this powder onto my face. Then, I take a small brush (not a concealer brush, but a small, round-top, dense brush by EcoTools that came in a set) and concentrate this powder on my problem areas only. I buff it over each blemish and under my eyes. This method makes this product a full-coverage product for me. If I need it, I also use Physician’s Formula green concealer stick on blemishes to even out the redness.
Sometimes I go a couple of months with this powder with little to no break outs and I am extactic. Sometimes I break out while using this powder although I cleanse my face twice a day, exfoliate, and use a clay masque.Lately the latter has been the case. I believe this could be because my powder has been expired for quite a while. I bought it on sale because it was going to expire within a few days of purchase. I am contemplating buying a new jar to see if using a non expired powder changes anything.
PROS: Cruelty free, great coverage for a mmu, lasts a long time, not very expensive, controls oil, may not beak out the skin, great rating on http://www.ewg.org , no harmful ingredients/chemicals, spf.
CONS: Very matte (no light-reflective properties which can diminish the look of blemishes), messy application, doesn’t last on the face for a long time, need to apply it certain ways to get certain effects.
EDIT 9/20/13
I have changed…
Overall Rating from 4 to 3 (3 = it’s okay)
Price to 2 (you can buy them in bulk from Overstock/Sears. $20 for 4)
Would I repurchase from yes to no.
This powder does give great coverage, does have good ingredients, does promote organic farming (even if it’s just a little), and does contain a TON of product in the jar. However, I can no longer wear this foundation. It makes me sad, really. The first jar of it I purchased I used up just fine. My skin was healing! The second I bought, I began breaking out. But I didn’t notice it so much because I used the second jar and first jar pretty much interchangeably. Now that I have purchased 4 new jars (the bulk sale) I have found that this does break me out with cystic acne and some white heads. This just sucks, because I felt safe with this make up. But hey, people can develop allergies/reactions at any point in their lives. I guess my skin is more sensitive now or something. I still recommend that others try it, because it was great to me. Regrettably, e will never be able to be life partners, though.

This was my first loose powder. It lasted for a decent amount of time. The coverage was good. I bought this in buff beige, but it was too light for me. It’s not cakey. It has a weird smell to it, but it’s bearable. Didn’t make me break out though. The brush is scratchy and rough. Would not repurchase.

I was so happily surprised with this! i was looking for a new Mineral Foundation powder for work. I had been using mineral powders for work purely for my skin. I have never been a mineral power fan, it just doesn’t cover enough. I just used it for my skins sake.
After buying this Powder in a sale I have to say it really is the BEST! it really actually covers and makes my face look flawless… its my new fav! im so glad i found it.. I even wear this on weekends…. what a find!
ecstaticRaisins9
I bought this for $15 CDN and I thought that since it was a brand that I generally liked and it was an organic product, that it would be a steal, but there are just so many things with this product I make me dislike it :I However, I gave it 3 lippies because the concept is great and it’s organic, and it makes your skin feel smooth, but it stops at that for me.
The brush it comes with is bad and you really shouldnt depend on it, I suggest investing in a really good brush 🙂 the annoying thing is, you cant get to the product without opening the lid that holds the brush. It’s just complicated and unnecessary, but it;s nice of them PF to offer a brush with the product instead of an even crappier sponge/puff 🙂
My last issue is the smell…oh gosh, I cant even describe properly how bad mine smelt..Maybe I got a pot that’s almost expired or something, but I would say the product smelled like dried animal dung or something, it smelled so bad I couldnt put it near my face! I know it doesnt cake and has a really fine and soft texture because I tested it on my hand over some BB cream, and when I noticed the smell, I just put a bit by itself on my other hand, and oouf, it really was the powder’s fault.
Due to the smell, I cannot say if its staying power and oil control are good or not, but if you do decide to buy it, I hope yours did not smell as bad as mine did…into the trash it goes!
cautiousChile5
I did not like this product much at all.. This was almost as bad on my skin as the tinted moisturizer! It did not give me the coverage I wanted, it melted off my face, and the powder got everywhere! I did, however, use this on top of another foundation and found that it worked better that way, but it still did not hold up the oil control at all. It still came off my face way too easily. Overall, the only thing I liked about this product was that it did not irritate my skin and it did a decent job evening out my skin. Other than that, I would not buy this again.

I love this product! I remember I puchased it one day when I was looking for a good everyday loose powder and my friend saw it and conviced me to by it even though it was kind of expensive. I had Sheer Cover before and that was my first expeirience with loose powder and it was awesome, but it didnt last long. I got home and wanted to use it right away and I noticed that it just came with this little brush so I came up with the idea of using my old brushes from my Sheer Cover set because it had come with a little soft brush for “problem areas” and a bigger one for full coverage and blending. So I used them and the Organic Wear covered so nicely and it hid all of my little blemishes beautifully! I couldnt see them at all! It worked better than my Sheer Cover! I was in shock. My roomate also saw how well it was working and she went out and bought it and loves it too! This product also lasts forever. I bought it over a year ago and there is still more than half of it left! The only thing I would do if your going to get it is to get a little “touch up” brush for problem areas. Other than that this is an awesome product and one of the best puchases I have ever made!

This by far the worst blush I’ve ever purchased it smelled so bad and when you apply it on your cheek you don’t get any color . No wonder it was sold at the dollar store not a good seller .
scornfulSeahorse6
I wish this was a good product. No color payoff, stinky, expires quickly, and the brush it comes with doesn’t pick up the product. The packaging is flimsy, made out of cardboard, the side that held the brush ripped off after a while. Wouldn’t be surprised if they discontinued this product. I saw it at dollar tree and thought I would try it again, but it was way worse than before of course. I could barely even scrape off anything with my nail, it was so solid, smelled rancid.
forsakenBustard6
I got this blush in the natural color and you cannot see it on my skin. Plus, it smells terrible and the packaging is sub par. The natural color of the blush has two different colors and mixed together or separate they still don’t show up on swatches or my cheeks. I can’t recommend this line of Physicians Formula.
mereGatorade3
I purchased this in two different colors yesterday from the dollar tree, and I should have known better. Upon swatching them, I got a chalky white color that I couldn’t seem to get off my fingers. It was almost greasy, and disgusting. I went in with a brush, absolutely NO color was to be seen on my cheeks, and I’m NC-15, EVERYTHING shows up on my cheeks whether I want it to or not. I’m going to try the scratchy brushes these came with, as I read a review that said this helped. The smell is also revolting, I can’t even explain how bad it is, and it lingers on your cheeks. I guess I got what I paid for.

I bought this product at local store called Fallas Paderes similar to big lots, Marshall’s, and Ross. The price was $3.99 so I thought was a gret bargain, however once I got home I swatched the product on my wrist and it was chalky with absolutely NO PIGMENTATION at all!! The packaging was in a ok cardboard recycled package which included a brush and mirror. The color I chose was blushing organics it looked like a matte blush but like I said absolutely no pigmentation. Waste of money. Wet n Wikd has better blushes for about $2.00. Not happy.
cheerfulPlover2
I cannot get anything from this blush! What the heck is up with this product? It’s like rubbing a plastic blush, nothing comes off. I’ve tried my fingers, a tissue, brushes, I’ve even scraped off the top layer just in case but still no pigment. Truly confusing. I have to say though, perhaps those of us who are having pigmentation trouble first tried to swatch & rub it with our fingers & therefore may have damaged the product. I think the rubbing may have reacted & pressed the powder too tightly, making it impossible to get any pigment. It clearly works for some people who probably went at it with a brush first. I would say that if it worked, it might be an option for those looking for a truly organic, all-natural blush. Even the packaging is made from organic material — I can appreciate its design but I think the chintzy papery clear cover on the top & bottom is very easy to poke a hole through and totally tear up. I’m truly confused by it all.
excitedEagle7
I am still confounded by this blush. It looks to have pigment, yet nothing shows up on my face– or my fingertips or a tissue I wipe onto the blush. It defies physics.
Unfortunately, I did not buy this blush for its ability to astound and confuse, and was very disappointed.
I am quite fond of many PF products and was excited over this purchase. Alas.
Also, the brush is garbage: rough and cheap. I didn’t mind the packaging, thought is was very cute and seemed durable.
joyfulChowder9
I cant fairly rate this because I got the lightest color available and it was just way too dark and orange so I couldnt even use it….
finickyPonie7
This is a decent product if you want mild coverage and a natural look. I do happen to like the smell and ease of application of this product. I don’t like the quick and dramatic oxidation (so purchase your shade lighter than normal to compensate for this) and I don’t like the greasy look soon after application.
wearyBuzzard8
The color of this wasn’t right for me, and it made me break out. Sad because I like so many of their products…
