Amazing sunscreen! I was using EltaMD UV Daily and loved it, except, that over the time my already dehydrated skin became even more dehydrated. Than after hesitating for a couple of months, my skin is normal, not dry; I switched to this one. So happy I did!
The ingredient list is almost the same. This cream doesn’t break me out, doesn’t give a white cast, doesn’t make my face shiny, greasy, or oily. It’s perfect. Usually, anything with hyaluronic acid dries me out (I know, very odd!). This one doesn’t.

I was using the Elta uv lotion in the 7oz pump and switching to this is like giving my face a drink of water. It’s winter now and it’s dry, so my skin is drier. It is also not as whitening as the regular uv lotion. This facial lotion gives me a very moisturized look and feel.

I’ve heard so many positive reviews online and from my dermatologist, and decided to give it a try. I have somewhat sensitive skin. I have peels done and use Retin-A and AHAs. After my last TCA peel my Dr. asked me to use this. Boy was I glad he did. It is so creamy and rich and settles down to a moist, but non greasy feel. Spreads so easy and leaves my face glowing.

This is a great skin for those with very dry or post procedure skin (just like it says on the label). I have normal skin with an occasional zit here and there, and I found this to be a bit oily. It doesn’t feel gross or heavy on, it just feels a bit too moisturizing. I can imagine make up wouldn’t stick as well as it would with, say, their less greasy UV Clear option. However I like that it feels (and smells) like more of a moisturizer with SPF rather than a straight sunscreen. An despite feeling oily it did absorb within 10-15 minutes and left my face with a nice non-shiny finish. The one bonus about this product is you get nearly twice as much for the same price you pay for their UV Daily and UV Clear… I did look this sunscreen up on Paula’s Beautypedia website. She said that it is basically the same thing as the UV Facial but less expensive. Having tried both, I have to say I concur. Although this one is less SPF and feels maybe slightly greasier initially, the end result is the same. You get almost twice the product for the same price. I think I’m going to go with this one.
Update: So I went natural for a while and only used sunscreens with titanium and zinc for the last few years. There were never any mineral sunscreens I liked quite as much as the chemical ones. I was using Josie Maran for a while, but over time I noticed it started to get greasy feeling. So I bought this and I love it! I was a little worried initially because this one felt a little bit crazy going on. But after five to ten minutes it fully absorbed and it feels GREAT.

I hate to be one of the few that hate this product. I can’t think of one thing I liked about it. Some of the cons I experienced are: leaves a chalky white ghost face (I am already pretty fair), broke me out terribly after first use (maybe it’s hard to wash off?), didn’t settle into my skin/remained greasy throughout the day, had a greasy thick silicone feel upon application, did not look good under my makeup and caused it to flake and look weird (maybelline fit me matte). For reference my skin is oily/combination and acne prone, reactive/sensitive, fair to fair medium, and normally I use olay complete sensitive spf 15 with no real problem I was just looking for a higher spf and a less greasy formula.

I absolutely love this sunscreen. I started using it after having allergic reactions to other sunscreens and got this one from my dad who had it recommended to him by a dermatologist. It’s usually between $20-$30, which isn’t great, but when you’re allergic to most other alternatives you take what you can get! It feels nice on my dry and highly sensitive skin and doesn’t feel greasy like many other sunscreens do. It also doesn’t have a horrible smell like many sunscreens do. Most importantly it offers great protection. As an example: the other day I put it on and went outside without reapplying for probably 7 hours and there’s not a burn on me, which is incredible considering that my skin is pasty white and normally burns within about ten minutes. I highly recommend this sunscreen even if it involves dishing out the extra money, if you’ve got dry or sensitive skin or have had allergic reactions to sunscreens this will probably be good for you!

Love this stuff. The texture is rich and creamy without being heavy or greasy – it sinks in quickly and leaves a smooth finish. The drugstore-brand sunscreens I have tried have mostly left me feeling oily or tacky, but this just leaves me feeling like I put on a moisturizer, and in fact I often use this without a separate moisturizer. I like having a dedicated facial sunscreen because I want UV protection but I don’t want to smell like sunscreen; this has no added fragrance and it smells a little base-y, but it is inoffensive and the smell dissipates quickly after application.
The only downside I can think of is the packaging – it comes in a jar, and I always worry about tracking crud into it when I apply it. To be fair EltaMD does offer this sunscreen in tube format, but it is pricier per ounce that way.

I havent been using this very long, but I am please with the performance so far. It is a nice consistency and rubs in fairly easily. Also, no unpleasant sunscreen scent. It is a tiny bit greasy, but its for dry skin (which I have), so I dont mind.

I purchased this on the recommendation of my dermatologist – they sell the line in their office and it is highly recommended for dry/rosacean skin. It comes in a large tube and the price seems reasonable for the amount you get. While this has a lovely, moisturizing creamy texture for my very dry/flakey/rosacean skin, it ultimately does not work for me. My skin is extremely sensitive and reactive and most products do cause me to break out. Unfortunately this caused me to form several new spots by the end of the day every day I wore it. It also causes a slight white cast. I have also read that the PPD is not very high with this product. I think this would be a good product for someone with very dry skin who is not highly reactive or acne-prone.

Let me offer a little “meta-analysis” that might explain how a product get so much love, but only a handful of reviews. This product is for a seriously underserved niche, when it comes to skin care needs. I have mild rosacea, with very dry, dehydrated skin. Besides the usual rosacea triggers (fragrance and heat), my triggers include inadequate sun protection and dryness. While purely mineral sunscreen works fine on my limbs, it is too drying on my face, which triggers my mild rosacea. Octinoxate is the one chemical sunscreen that does not irritate my skin. The octinoxate-zinc oxide combination for this product seems to be a perfect balance for me, no resulting dryness. With adequate sun protection issues, this works great for me in everyday, urban life. For that matter, I took it with me for a single reapplication during an extended outdoor event that can be “challenging” in terms of sun protection–a preschool field trip to the zoo in August–with very satisfactory results. Although creamy when squeezed out, it has an easy-to-spread, quick-to-absorb, smooth, natural finish that would serve well those who want to skip a primer for subsequent makeup. There is no heavy or greasy feeling for me, which even people with dry skin don’t like, especially where I live in the Southern US. I want to point out that, in my late twenties, my skin was more combination sensitive and this might have felt like overkill. I would have preferred in my combination skin years something with more of a milky finish found in Japanese sunscreens, which are now too drying for me. So, if you’re in teens or twenties with mild rosacea and this EltaMD product seems like overkill now, consider revisiting it at a later date if your skin gets drier. I wanted to mention packaging and availability issues. Get the tube version; the tub/jar option is silly packaging for facial sunscreen. The reason I took a single lippie off is that, unless you live in a huge, metropolitan area, you often have to buy this online. Given that you need sun protection year round, I take a sunscreen brand’s accessibility for consumers very seriously. I always breath a sigh of relief when my new package arrives–fears of being unprotected allayed! Considering what they now charge for ds sunscreens, this being a bit “pricey” does not put me off as much as it would have in the past. Plus, sun protection is an area where I’m willing to invest more. With all this said, I freaking love, love, love this sunscreen; I have lost count of how many times I have reordered it.
