Yuck! I usually trust Neutrogena products and figured they are the way to go for any types of sunscreen. I was wrong. I like the idea of spray mists for sunscreen, they are much easier to apply on the go and you can cover yourself much more quickly. That being said, this product reeks of a scent reminiscent of bug spray – I’m glad some other reviewers mentioned this too. The scent never really goes away. On top of that is this leaves an oily sheen on your skin. While I found it to provide good protection, it isn’t worth the scent and oily sheen left behind. This product would be alright if going on an outdoor excursion where you’re probably going to get sweaty and smelly, but not a product to use otherwise, in my opinion. I just felt sort of gross while this is on. On the plus side the spray nozzle worked well (zero clogging issues) and the packing is great. Definitely would not repurchase.

I was excited to buy this after seeing a youtube review where J-Lo’s make-up artist showed how he used this to give a great glow to the skin, even over make-up. I thought, “Yeah baby, yeah” (not that I give a crap about J-Lo, just like products that do what I want them to do).
The instant I applied this, before even knowing how it performed as a sunscreen, I regretted my purchase. It STANK.
It smells STRONGLY of a cheap, chemical, sickly floral perfume. It’s overpowering, and the smell did not go away. Other people asked me, “What is that smell?”
I am still trying to “use it up” because of the cost and I hate to waste things. But it’s an endurance, not a joy, as I had hoped.
It doesn’t work any better than any other sunscreen. Have not given it a decent long-time-in-the-sun test though, so who knows, it may even be worse.
But I have plenty of sunscreens – I didn’t buy this because I needed another sunscreen; I bought it for the non-greasy “glow” effect and that it can be worn over make-up. It does succeed in that sense, but that meagre benefit is far outweighed by the unpleasant aroma inflicted not just on the wearer, but anyone in their general area. So sad that it has more overpowering stench-reach than my favourite long-wearing perfumes.
So no. Never again. Unless you hate people. Then slather it on.

I love the convenience of this sunscreen. I have dry, sensitive skin, but find that I do not react to this sunscreen. I work outside a lot during summer and it can be a long process to apply sunscreen the old fashioned way. Love how I just spray it on and I’m good to go. It dries quickly and coverage is great. A little expensive, but I’m seeing that sunscreen prices are all around that nowadays. Wish I could buy for $10 instead of $15, but because it’s such a good product, I will still pay the $15 if it’s not on special. Also be ready to go through the bottle decently quickly. Probably 10 full body uses out of one bottle, tops, but if you’re just using it for those days when you just don’t have the time to apply regular sunscreen you can make it last a while.

I have this in SPF 70. I would not recommend anyone with sensitive skin. I’ve used on my neck, chest, arms and legs. After one usage, I had redness and rash on my neck and chest. My legs and arms were ok. As I didn’t want throw it in the bin, therefore I’ve continued to use it on my arms and legs on a hot and sunny trip to Bangkok. However, it didn’t provide much sun protection. Secondly I’ve only managed got out few usages from the spray bottle. It was a totally rip off. I haven’t try out other spray sunscreen so not too sure if it’s to do with spray format or Neutrogena. I’m going to stick with my sunscreen lotion.

If you have ACNE PRONE or SENSITIVE SKIN DO NOT BUY THIS! AVOID HELIOPLEX like a plague….
Helioplex uses a chemical reaction to deflect the sun’s rays from your skin. The reaction can create heat bumps on sensitive skin and is particularly problematic for people with acne. Look for a sunscreen with fewer chemical (titanium or zinc oxide is a good alternative). Also avoid fragrance… (paraphrased from the Mayo clinic).
I wish I would have taken the time to research sunscreen and the chemicals that are used BEFORE I tried this product… Could I get a HELL NO option for ‘would you buy this again’? I used this product 1 time and got – literally – 100+ white heads that slowly turned into cystic acne for months (TMI, but it’s worth saying)! It’s finally clearing up, but because of my fair skin I’m left with scarring and red marks all over my jaw line!!! I’m also completely traumatized.

**I have this in SPF 30
I was recommended to use this sunscreen by my doctor as it would not clog my pores (I have been experiencing really bad breakouts recently on my face). I have used it only a couple of times, but I noticed that after an hour or two of being in the sun, my face would begin to burn and be very itchy. I had a week-long rash on my face. I did not realize it was a result of using this sunscreen as it is the only one I have used on my face recently. I have never gotten a rash before from sunscreens- not sure if the formula/chemicals are really strong. My skin isn’t really sensitive and bears a lot, but this really irritated my face. On my body, it was fine- no rashes or anything. After I complete this spray I don’t think I will purchase it again. The smell is a little intense- almost like rubbing alcohol, and of course because of the reaction my face had.

I have this in the 30 spf. Both my husband and I love the lightweight feel, and the convenience of the spray. It protects against sun well, doesn’t sweat off and doesn’t make us smell like coconut. The reason I only gave it a three is that after several days of continuous use on my arms, chest and neck, I have a hideous rash accompanied by peeling skin and blisters appearing everywhere I applied it. My husband, (naturally,) remains unscathed. I do have moderately sensitive skin, and though I had used this last summer with no ill effects, it was only intermittent use. Either they changed the formula, or my sensitivity needed concentrated use of the sunscreen to develop. My husband will probably get it again. I will not, and would recommend a test patch for anyone with moderate to severely sensitive skin.

I loved this product at first, the smell isn’t too bad, it sprays pretty evenly on the skin and it didn’t seem to cause any problems. However I used this on my neck area and it gave me a really bad rash for about a week. Definitely would not recommend this to someone with sensitive skin that are prone to getting a rash. It’s hard to test for that too since it didn’t give me a rash when I applied it on other areas =\. I will still continue to use on the safe areas but I would not purchase this again.

Love this sunblock! I have it in SPF 70. The spray makes it very easy to apply and it dries quickly which is also convenient. Because I have fair skin, I need a good sunblock with a high SPF that won’t clog my pores… and this is perfect!

I wanted to love this but I almost hate it. I like the convince of a spray sunscreen. I have two toddlers who I also use this on and it works ok for them. But it leaves my skin a lil oily. And it doesn’t seem to keep my skin from getting sunburned. Its on the higher price point of drugstore sunscreen. I have purchased other Neutrogena sunscreens that were okay. Also maybe its because I use this on my daughters too, but I’ve been using this for about a week and I’m almost done with the bottle. I will not repurchase this particular product.
