Sorry to rain on others’ prade but this product didn’t do a thing about making me bronze. The texture is great but just for sun protection but nothing else.

This an excellent sunscreen-tanning oil combo. It offers reliable sun protection, while still helping with your tan. I have olive skin that tans easily, but burns when I haven’t been in the sun in a while. When I use this, that doesn’t really happen. I’ve noticed my skin is significantly less red and more golden toned in the first couple of days I’m exposed to the sun.
Also, the spray packaging and light texture make this product super easy to apply. It doesn’t leave any oily or sticky residue and you don’t feel like you have anything on your skin. I personally don’t like the smell, but a lot of people think it smells great too.

This stuff is perhaps the most aptly named product on the market. It really is as good as gold! (I have/am reviewing the SPF 30 version.)
I am one of those people who hates wearing sunscreen even though I know I really should. My skin is super sensitive and every one I’ve tried has either left a white residue, felt too thick, or itched, or caused irritation, etc. But I was getting ready to go on a trip where sunscreen was not an option and this stuff had great reviews everywhere, so I gave it a shot. I’m glad that I did because it is easily the best sunscreen I’ve ever used! I’m so impressed with it and it may very well make me a daily sunscreen convert.
First off, it smells fantastic. It’s not overly scented but it has a wonderful summer fragrance – definitely not your typical sunblock smell! Secondly, it is super lightweight. It is a very thin formula that rubs in smoothly and easily. No residue, no white marks, no skin suffocation. It absorbs super fast – less than a minute – and then feels like nothing at all! You completely forget you’ve put on sunblock. Amazing! Finally, it actually does provide great sun protection. I didn’t even reapply for hours after walking around in the sun and humidity (like I know I should have) and still didn’t burn. Unparalleled scent, texture and absorption with true sun protection and no skin irritation? This is truly the holy grail of sunscreens.
I’m very pale so I had high hopes for the “instant bronzer” component. While it doesn’t really give you a tan color, it does add a nice, very slight golden sheen to skin that improves the look of super light skin like mine. It doesn’t look unnatural or glittery. But the look of it is just a bonus to this!
The bottle is a good size for about $8, and I use about 10-15 spritzes to cover legs, arms, shoulders, and chest, for example, if I’m wearing a sundress.
I highly recommend this! I will definitely be buying more. I know my skin will thank me when I’m older for finally finding a sunblock I can (happily!) use on the regular.

Australian Gold – Spray SPF 15 Sunscreen with Instant Bronzer
I don’t ever tan my face or neck but my body lovesssssss the sunshine. This spray “sunscreen” is more like a great bronzer and tanning oil than anything. SPF 15 is really not that great in harsh sun (SPF 30 is better) but it still prevents burning in moderate sun which is great. In fact, I used it and forgot to put it on my feet and there was a definite burn/redness where i didn’t use it!!
It is instant bronzer so it gives you that illusion that you are getting more tan, which, I think is great. You get the satisfaction of being tan n’ sexy with added protection but just enough to actually get some color.
I don’t recommend this for kids or people trying to protect their skin (i’d never use t his on my face). But for people trying to get a deep tan, this is really great stuff that won’t let you burn as long as you reapply.
The smell is divine and reminds me of Barbados and the spray lotion formula is really soothing and easy to apply. I always have bottles of this for my summer in addition to my high SPF SS.

I stumbled upon this one, but had lots of success with it this weekend. Bought the Australian Gold Sheer Coverage Continuous Spray w/SPF 30 at our hotel at Disneyland because I ran out of the spray sunscreen we had. I loved the finish — not sticky, not too drying — and the smell made me feel like a walking pina colada! (In a good way!) The thing that surprised me was that after spending hours in the hot, blazing sun in Anaheim this weekend, we didn’t need to reapply and were so well-protected by this sunscreen. I spent way too much on it in a hotel gift shop, but knew I would get gauged since I was stuck and needed it, however I’m glad that I happened upon it this way. Live in Southern CA and could use a dependable sunscreen like this. I’m devoted!

I am reviewing the Australian Gold spray gel sunscreen with SPF 15 with the instant bronzer. I absolutely love this product for tanning outdoors. It really does absorb fast and leaves my skin moisturized, soft, clean, and not sticky at all. I’ve used the banana boat tanning oil before this, and the AG one is soooo clean and hassle-free compared to banana boat! It’s super simple to use, just squirt a few sprays on your body and rub it in with your hands, and there’s no oily mess to clean up after. I do notice a *very* slight bronzing effect from it. It smells amazing too. At first, when you first spray it out, it smells exactly like bubble gum, but after you rub it in, it smells like coconut. I tanned outside for about an hour and a half, and I didn’t burn at all. My tan came out even and darker than if I’d just laid out with sunscreen only. I would definitely repurchase this. Found it at my local target for $8.99.

“Would you buy this product again?” Oh, hell yeah! I bought the SPF 15 version with instant bronzer. It smells lovely (think fruity coconut), color is natural, dries super fast and gives a smooth coverage due to the continuous spray and lightly moisturizes. I think my favorite part is the application, just mist and go – easy! Plus, it was under $12 USD at Walgreens; great color, great smell, easy to use, great price and convenient location; what’s not to love? HG status!

I found Australian Gold a few years ago on a beach trip, and I bought a bottle and used it during the whole trip. I absolutely loved it! I got SPF 15 with instant bronzer, and I used it every day. I didn’t burn, and I even tanned a little. The scent is wonderful, so I even put it on as a lotion sometimes just because I loved the smell. I bought another bottle before I left, because I knew I’d have a hard time finding it back home. I was in my local Wal-Mart the other day and I found AG products there, and I jumped for joy! I’ll definitely be using this product over and over again.

I’m reviewing the SPF 15 sunscreen with instant bronzer under this brand. They have a few versions, gel, lotion and continuous spray, which is the one I’m using. It was recommended to me by a friend who uses it, and she looks great. So far I’ve only found it at Walgreens, which is a pity but at least they have the entire line in store and a few online. This has an orange flower type of scent (I guess, I know it’s orange, anyway!) that doesn’t turn into that dreaded spoiled-rotten pumpkin smell most self tanners and bronzers have, so I’m not sure if this even falls under the self-tanner category. What it seems to do is act as a sunscreen and tan developer, although I’m not quite sure on that. All I know is that I’ve used this, it works great as a sunscreen and the next day I had a nicely developed tan as well, with no streaking, no smell, no orange tint, no shimmer, and no rubbing off on my swimsuit, towels or anything else. It is also waterproof and sweatproof for the 80 minutes they claim and although it is a little sticky after you first apply (20 minutes before going outside, as the bottle instructed), it’s not unbearable and once I was outside I didn’t notice it. The greatest thing about this is that it’s an all-inclusive product, sunscreen (anywhere from SPF 4 to 30 or higher, depending on the product) and bronzer all in one which eliminates the need for me to use two or three different products to achieve the same effect. It runs between $8 and $12 depending on sales (I got it for $7.99 with a free tan-preserving lotion I haven’t tried yet) and if it continues to perform as well as it already has, I’ll continue to buy it. I think the only complaint I have is that the cap on mine snapped off so I had to be careful not to lose it and/or to be sure it was on securely before spraying. My fault though, for just grabbing a can and going to the register, without checking to see if it was intact beforehand.
