EVERYONE I never take the time to write reviews but I need help and I want to warn others…….. PLEASE KNOW I have been using this product here and there for a few months (It is not yet expired however its been leaking THROUGH THE whole bottle since I bought the product) and two days ago I used the supergoop setting mist on my nose by my forehead and I GOT A CHEMICAL BURN right on my forehead.
I Called Sephora but all they told me was that I could not get my money back and didn’t help me deal treat the burn. I USED TO be all about sephora but I am now extremely dissapointed.
SO I am screwed for now but I hope I get my skin clear again because I am not used to marks on my face :/ Blah

So disappointed in this. Was really hoping for that unicorn product, a spray sunscreen that would also refresh and set my makeup. It failed on all counts. It has so much alcohol in it that it burned my face. It also melted my makeup .And I did not feel that I could count on it for sun protection. I will have to stick with my buff on powder sunscreens and separate sprays for finishing and setting my makeup.

Not a favorite of mine at all. First the scent is really strong, lingers for about an hours. Left my face tacky. Performance, not too bad at all. It does allow my foundation to last all day. Not as good as Urban Decay all nighter for me. SPF is a nice feature but I would not rely on this product along for sun proctection. I have used coola’s setting spray and for my skin the coola spray works better.

I have oily skin and while most sunscreens just make me look greasy, this isn’t one of them. As a setting spray, it doesn’t perform as well for me as Urban Decay’s De-Slick, but it’s just as good as, or a little better than, sprays not specifically formulated for oily skin.
All in all, this does what it promises and works well; however, if you don’t apply with a light hand and (vigorously) shake the bottle beforehand, the product will make your face look and feel sticky. Although a lot of people hate aerosol cans, I think the formulation is better suited to an aerosol delivery system.
So while I concede that this product isn’t perfect, it’s still one of my “ride or die” beauty products and I highly recommend it for anyone else with oily skin.

I have the mini size of this spray. The pump does not work as it needs to for sunscreen application…instead of a fine, even mist, it sprays out big, uneven jets, thus rendering it useless as a sunscreen. Plus I suspect the smell will reek out scent sensitive people’s noses–I’m not sure how to describe the smell, but it is not pleasant. Thumbs down.

I really wanted to like this because the idea of it is really great but I ended up returning it after a week. I don’t know if it’d be better for someone with dry/normal skin but for me (super oily) it made me sooooo oily. It made my skin feel heavy, greasy, and sticky. It also left a white cast on my hair and clothes too. It’s also kind of pricey so it’s not worth it for me.

I have oily skin and I’ve had a hard time finding mattifying finishing powders that last and so I decided to switch things up a bit by trying a makeup setting mist. What made choose this Supergoop! one over the Kat Von D or Urban Decay mists is how this one had suncreen in it and I thought it’d be useful to have for the warming and sunnier weather coming up.
What I like about this product is that it does mattify my face for a few hours and without feeling heavy. (Granted, I don’t wear a lot of makeup to begin with). And since this product uses chemical sunscreens (see ingredients list below), it’s not going to create a white cast on your face if you decide to take photos with flash.
As for the bad news, this product smells “chemical-y,” stings if it gets in your eyes, and feels sticky after being sprayed on to your face. The stinging and smell goes away fairly quickly on its own and I’ve found that gently patting the product in after spraying takes away some of the stickiness. The biggest issue with this product, as another reviewer pointed out, is the matter of using enough product to get sufficient sun protection. Since the sunscreen particles are so easily diffused during the spraying process, it’s hard to determine how much actually gets on to your skin (compared to how much is lost to the air, clothing, and hair).
That being said, this product shouldn’t be used as sun protection by itself. If the skincare and makeup products you’ve already applied have adequate SPF built in, then this Supergoop! Setting Mist might be a nice addition for you. And for days when you don’t want to wear makeup but still want sun protection, there are there are better and cheaper products out there than this one. Otherwise, you’ll only be giving yourself a false sense of security with just a spritz or two.
While I personally like this product, it’s still pretty average overall. It’s good to have around for layering with other SPF products and to renew your sun sunscreen when you’re out and about for a couple of hours. The concept of a makeup setting spray with built-in sunscreen is nice, but the formulation and “feel” of this product can be improved.

So impressed with this product! It’s a 3-in-1 mist that serves as a setting spray, sunscreen and oil controller. It comes in a 1 oz travel size and 3.4 oz full size rubberized bottle. It smells amazing: a bit of sunscreen mixed with light mint and rosemary, very refreshing! I have not yet used it as a setting spray, but as a sunscreen and oil controller I think it performed well. I have normal skin with a slightly oily T-zone, so I mainly wanted this as a sunblock/refresher. It feels a bit tacky at first, but dries instantly and wore comfortably. I’m looking forward to trying this as a setting spray; right now I’m enjoying it as is and will definitely purchase the full size!

My first mistake was not testing the product before I wore it out because the first time I used it was for my prom and I nearly ruined my makeup. I got a sample of this in my birchbox and at first I though ‘nice, another setting spray with the benefit of sunscreen.’ I was soo wrong. It left a very oily finish and specs on my black dress AND smelled pretty terrible. It got all over my hair and made me hair oily too. My face felt like it had been sitting in the heat for 5 hours. I freaked out so put more powder on and then I felt even more oily and cakey. To be fair, my eye makeup didn’t crease. But my skin makeup was still horrible. Do NOT buy this product. You’re much better off with the urban decay setting sprays.
I’ve gotten other supergoop products in my birchbox that are wonderful, but this one left me so frustated.

I have some major bones to pick with this product. I wanted to love it because in theory, it is brilliant. It would be awesome to be able to both apply my sunscreen AND set my make up in one. However there are some issues with Supergood Defence Refresh Setting Mist that most people aren’t aware of.
Let’s start with the fact that very few people are going to get the SPF50 advertised. If that’s why you bought this…return it. It takes 1/4th tsp to get the SPF advertised. That would be over 4 spritz of this.
Most people apply about 2. You would really have to coat your face to get the SPF50. And if you don’t? You’re likely getting

I’m on my second bottle of Supergoop setting mist. Unlike lotion, I can use this stuff throughout the day and it does have some mattifying properties (although I still use powder for oil). It also smells good. The only downside is that the spray mechanism sometimes clogs and is a pain to use.
