I’m reviewing Replenix Ultra Sheer Sunscreen SPF 50 Plus – I guess it’s the same?? Anyway, I love it! Physical sunscreens really bother my skin (redness, itchiness, breakouts galore) so have to use chemical sunscreen. I’ve been using Paula’s Choice Clear Ultra-Light Daily Fluid SPF 30+ (also very nice) but wanted something less shiny that didn’t have as much of a “feel” on the skin. This Replenix is better. A little difficult to apply as it is so so watery but it can be worked with for the great result. It doesn’t mattify my oily skin but doesn’t make it worse at all and is a great base for powder foundation. I let it dry for a few minutes before makeup and it dries to a slightly powdery feel and has very little fragrance which is nice. No skin reaction at all, yay! I ordered from Dermstore for $30.00

Feels very oily when applied to face although it does absorb a little… will not repurchase.

This is an all chemical filter ss, utilizing singlet photo-stabilization. I have been using this for about 3 months and am so far very pleased.
First the formula is exceptionally weightless. It has the viscosity of milk. I apply to small sections of my face at a time, or else the full 1/4tsp dose ends up running off my fingers. It takes longer to apply, but well worth it. There is no feeling of residue on the skin and so far it has not caused any balling up with moisturizing products I’ve used below it. (I do wait a good 15 min between product applications) It leaves zero white cast, and has a satin natural finish. Not tacky or sticky. Not moisturizing at all. Not waterproof. Mild ss odor that goes away quick. I have used many euro formulations (lrp, bioderma, uriage, avene, heliocare) and this ss is more cosmetically elegant than any of them by far.
Beyond the ss actives, the ingredients list many wonderful anti-oxidents- green tea, asorcbic acid, coq10 etc.
It is pricey (expect to pay around $50 for 2oz) but really delivers on many important fronts.
