The formulation of this product is quite admirable. The mineral SPF is a solid 30. The base is all silicone, not a drop of water is in this product and therefore there isn’t any need for preservatives like parabens which is a definite bonus for anyone concerned about them. BUT, this sunscreen really dried out my skin and is quite difficult to remove, it stays in place even when you don’t want it to. It’s also very expensive and difficult to find since it’s physician exclusive.

Unfortunately, this is not a good product for me. It is way too hard to remove at night and dries out most of my face. It truly is an oil-controlling primer with only mineral sunscreen agents. On the plus side, it looks great on my nose and forehead. Maybe in the summer, I could use it all over.
For those of you with oily, but sensitive skin… I think this can be perfect for you. Also, there is no water or preservatives in the formula. I purchased it at lovelyskin.com

In “gabifromchicago’s” review below she stated that Melashade is created by Young Pharmaceuticals out of CT, US. That is true but it not sold for $1.75 per bottle. On the whole pricing sheet it is required to purchase a quanity case of (12) per order at $21 dollars per bottle.
I agree it is a VERY expensive sunscreen. Believe me if I could purchase it at $1.75 per bottle. I’d make a killing as the sunscreen is, truly one of the best out there. I absolutely love the texture and it feels super smooth going on and “ouisch” the other reviewer is right as well about the base.
The first time I wore the melashade my make-up seemed to just stay on perfectly all day without any touch ups, even my co-worker mentioned that my make-up looked really good that day. It acts very much like a primer base for your make-up.
I’m an Aesthetician that would LOVE to get an account with this company but unfortuanely they will ONLY sell to physicians. The entire line is great I went to one of their seminars recently. I would highly recommend their product line. It is comparable to skinceuticals and less expensive.
