Got this after trying so many sunscreen for face (Sunplay, Banana Boat, …) and this is AMAZING! Finally I found a sunscreen to settle down with!!! Mine is the gel type, it has light herbal scent, very light texture that sinks into my skin after 10-20 second applied and it is not sticky or make my skin feel heavy at all!! No rash also! Really adore it and a tube of 80g product will last for about 2 – 3 months with daily use (I live in a tropical country so I use it once in the morning and reapply 4 hours later when I have to go out, on my face and my two arms). Worth every penny, I don’t think I’m changing into anything else soon!!

I bought the Sunscreen gel SPF50+ PA++++ S$50/80g, recommended by my cousin, she said this is one of the lightest in the market. I love sekkisei smell, love the light texture, but the coverage is nil, so needs to use another powder or BB cream. So now my morning routine is cleanse – Sekkisei Lotion – Sekkisei Sunscreen gel – Kose BB cream – Orbis sunscreen powder SPF50 PA++++.

I have very sensitive skin and this is the only sun lotion that I was not allergic to it. It gives a smooth look, it is very protective and I loved the matte texture it gives to the face. Overall I am using it for two years in a row and I ll keep using it till I can order it from HK.

I was expecting so much from this, but I am disappointed:( I thought it is the same in texture as Shisedo sun protective lotion SPF 60 as claimed here by many users, but for me it is different. Yes,it is milky and smooth, but it does not sink into my skin as Shiseido does. And if it is waterproof then i dont understand how it works because it is not drying on my face but is leaving a bit silky and oily cover, which is definitely easily removed with water or touching because it just is not sitting on the skin. The make up above is the same as the base under is not dry. I chose it because of the high zinc oxide comparing to shiseido, but I feel shiseido protects better because is coverng the skin much tighter.
Anybody knows some more sunscreen with Zinc Oxide over 16% and not being oily? Like Shiseido?

Best sunscreen I’ve used. I was impressed how smoothly it goes on skin. I can use it for face and body both. I feel it hydrates my skin. It sets well under my powder too.
I got a 15 ml sample bottle and haven’t finished it yet.
If the high price won’t be my concern, I’ll surely purchase it.

This sunscreen is like a summer fling. You know how those go, you meet your summer sugar, love at first sight, have your fun for the summer months and then you part ways and never see them again in your life. this sunscreen is like that. I’m conflicted on this product because i loved it, but i won’t purchase it again, i’ll get to why in a sec. First, let me explain what this product is and the 5 star rating (it'[s really a 2 as well but more of that later). Ok first, I was looking for a water-proof sunscreen for summer as my bioderma sunscreen is too moisturizing and gives me shine in this summer heat, plus i’m not even sure if it stays put with summer temps bombarding my face. I heard about this from a fellow MUAer. It toutes 19.97% Zinc oxide, 7.49% octinoxate and 2.5% enzulizole (spf 50+ pa+++ ppd around 11 per sunscreen simulator). Essentially it’s the same actives as shiseido spf 60 lotion, but much higher zinc oxide content. It’s a traditional japanese sunscreen, one of those shake-up ones, you have to shake it the get it to mix before you can get it out. it comes in a tiny royal blue bottle 50ml with a nozzle like the ones on kiehl’s and la roche posay sunsreens. Now onto the product, it’s lightly scented, although i would prefer no scent this doesnt bother my skin. you can definitely smell the alcohol in this when it first comes out, it doesnt bother my skin, doesnt dry my skin either. In fact it felt moisturizing? my skin didnt need any moisturizer underneath. It’s a milky gel, not as liquid as the shiseido spf 60 lotion but more gel milk, it spreads very easily. i squeezed 1/4 tsp into my spoon and applied it all over my face, 1/4 for my neck, and then some for my ears. (you need a quarter tsp for the full labeled spf and pa to be effective) To my surprise i had no burning no stinging, no irritation, unlike with skinceuticals (see my review on that for more info.)At first my skin was a little white, but after i let it absorb for 30 minutes, (i did my hair in the mean time) it absorbed completely, absolutely no white cast, my skin just looked brighter, and it even blurred my imperfections a little bit. I wore this from 4am to about 11pm at night and had no shine, absolutely no shine at the end of the day, i was surprised bc with my bioderma, i usually get shine after about 3 hours on my nose and on my forehead at the end of the day. This stuff is sweat and water proof, too it wont come off with just water and cleanser, you need an oil cleanser to remove it. It came off with my mineral oil pre cleanse though, no issues, followed by my usual cleanser. The difference between this and shiseido’s cream spf 55 is that my skin can “breathe”! (i.e no heavy feeling) no breakouts. yay. I would rate this as my ultimate holiest of grails sunscreen if not for a few caveats…
CONS
1. The price, this product is insanely expensive, if you use this product consistently with the required amount, it’ll last you about 20 days. yup 20 days. 365/20 = thats about 19 replenishments a year. at about 35 bucks a pop thats about 665 dollars a year. thats like…. triple what my bioderma costs me. I know ss is the biggest beauty investment but this is beyond my budget. If it were readily available, maybe i’d consider investing in it
2. Obtainability. because this sunscreen is Japanese, i can’t get it readily in the US. i have to order it online, the shipping is a con, because of the wait, and the potential damages that can be done to this sunscreen in transit (heat is my main concern)
3. The formulation. I’ve read and seen different product formulations for this sunscreen and i dont want to chance getting another sunscreen and have to ship it back, the hassle of re ordering and such, i dont know that my formulation may even be dc’ed. The other formulations i’ve seen are substantially different than what i received, the actives might even be different and the silicones are different as well.
Because of these CONS, which are substantial, i may never encounter this sunscreen again, hence why i called it a summer fling.
Overall , for what this suncreen does and is, i give it a 5 star rating, but i won’t repurchase because it may be so hard to come by.

Best sunscreen i have ever used. I like the texture, it looks concentrated but it is light after applying to the skin and doesn’t leave any white trace like some products with high SPF. It doesn’t cause any break out. The price is reasonable too. I will definately buy it again.

i bought this to use it for my face. although the product description sounded promising, it leaves a white cast, has a strong scent, and broke me out. i expected better from such a $$ ss.
for reference, i have oily acne prone skin with nc 35, c4 asian skin

I’m using the 2nd bottle of it. It’s HKD210/60ml, not really expensive comparing to other sunscreens I’ve used. It smells like the classic herbal scent just like the other Sekkisei products do which I like it very much. According to a Taiwan website, it contains about 19% zinc oxide (which is a very high proportion) and Ethylhexyl methoxycinnamate. About the texture, it’s not that ‘fluid’, it’s like 80%fluid and 20%cream….if you know what i mean. It’s non greasy and gives a really good protection from the sun. It’s kind of like the best sunscreen I’ve used but I’m still looking for something lighter for summer use.

This contains very high zinc oxide, in the range of 15% or higher? So this would make a very effective broad spectrum sunscreen. It contains metal balls inside so you’ll have to shake the bottle before using.
The product is a white watery liquid, lightly scented. It feels smooth on although i do feel its alittle mask like… like my skin would not be able to “breathe”. Its very water resistant and is wonderful to use in hot summer months.
I like the container, which is opaque and has a small nozzle. Overall a very effective sunscreen, great for hot summer months.
