Oh, lord. I hope this review saves a few of you from bothering with this stuff. I forgot my usual body sunscreen while traveling and bought the Alba Botanica Kids Mineral Sunscreen SPF 30 at a nearby grocery store. I’m always on the lookout for affordable fragrance-free physical sunscreens, so in the absence of reviews I decided to risk it.
Pros:
– Fragrance-free ingredients with Titanium Dioxide and Zinc Oxide
– Emollient once it’s blended in
– Drugstore price
– Recyclable bottle (I’m grasping here)
Cons:
– Stiff, unblendable formula with tendency to separate
– Weird glue smell
– Greasy, sticky texture
This sunscreen is proof that brands only market products as being for kids when parents would never consent to using it on themselves. It’s so thick and oddly textured that you have to blend until it hurts. But not to fear! Once it’s finally applied, you can enjoy many happy hours of lingering heavy greasiness, all for only SPF 30.
2/5 stars purely because I didn’t actually burn while wearing it. The search for the perfect drugstore body sunscreen continues.
