As a makeup wearer, the last thing I want is a sticky white cast all over my face. This sunscreen though – is amazing.
It has a clear gel-like consistency and gets absorbed relatively fast, acting as a hydrating primer right before your foundation or perhaps as the last step in your skincare routine. Thankfully all of my foundations and concealers sit/blend well on top of it and I have never experienced peeling or anything like that.
If you do not like the smell or colour of a traditional sunscreen, give this one a shot! I have a detailed review on this and many other Glossier bestsellers here ( hope it helps those of you interested in the brand!

I love the feel of this sunscreen, it’s practically weightless and truly feels and looks like I have nothing on. It doesn’t make me greasy nor dry me out, it doesn’t pill with my other skincare or makeup, and there’s no strong scent. However, I don’t know how much protection this really offers because I never use chemical sunscreens alone. I’m always setting eveything with my It Cosmetics powder which offers physical sunscreen protection. I would buy this again for sure because I’ve never had a formula that I’ve enjoyed using as much as this one. But I think it’s overpriced, so if there’s something out there with a similar feel but cheaper then I’ll be all over that dupe!

I love this sunscreen. nothing else compared. it’s very lightweight, invisible, doesn’t make me shine like the sun. BUT, and it’s and big butt… they need to figure out their packaging- mine kept stopping. 3 times I nearly threw the thing out because I thought it run out. but no, I just had to twisted the cap like 2mm to one side to get it to pump again. plus it’s not cheap for such small size!

This is NOT a broad spectrum sunscreen 🙁

I love the texture of this product and the ease of applying it. It is clear and goes on so easily and has a light texture. I DO NOT recommend it, however. I’ve also stopped using it and tossed my bottle.
I have to echo the review of another user and say that this product does not offer any UVA2 protection. So you might not get a sunburn from using this because it will help with UVB rays but you will likely suffer skin damage from UVA2. Homosalate and Octisalate offer only UVB protection. The avobenzone in this sunscreen offers protection only against UVA1. I don’t know why they would overlook UVA2 like this.
This product is very expensive ($34/per ounce) so I wish I would’ve researched the sunscreen ingredients more before I bought it. But I am glad that because of this product, I learned about UVA1, UVA2, and UVB rays and the ingredients that offer protection against both.
Lastly, I don’t know if I had a bad bottle but the pump would get a little stuck making it difficult to pump out just a small amount at a time. Like if I wanted just a tad more so that I’d have extra coverage in one area.

Wow at the reviews for this. I think we are officially over hyping things to the point where we just wanna have an excuse to be disappointed. As an brown skin woman it is extremely difficult to find a sunscreen that is truly invisible and not full of alcohol. The Japanese and Korean sunscreens are indeed a head of the game as far as texture goes but all that alcohol isn’t gonna end well in the long run. Plus not a fan of the internet search mission to find their ingredient list and let’s not forget the over powering floral fragrance most have. I love this one! This is a good chemical sunscreen. It barely had a scent and goes on as advertised CLEAR! The texture is like that of the milky jelly cleanser. It is decently hydrating and dries down slightly dewy. I have oily skin so for me less is more especially in the summer. That means this is my moisturizer, primer, n spf all in one. Using it as a all in one means no oil slick and sliding makeup later. As for the size and price, it is pretty much on the same price and size scale as most sunscreens in Sephora and others sold in department stores. I only apply once a day to my face only and make sure my sun exposure doesn’t exceed two hours. This is more or less a city sunscreen. For going to work or running errands. Not for the beach or long outdoor activities. The best sunscreen is watching your sun exposure period not relying on a product. As for the Orange EO it’s a non issue for me. In fact many of the popular Korean skin care items contain citrus oils and people barely bat an eye lol.

Overall I’ve very happy with this product, it is sheer, light and doesn’t go on too thick that it messes with my makeup application. My everyday cream doesn’t have SPF unfortunately so this is something I need to use daily. In all i love the scent, texture and lightness of the product. My only complaint is the packaging, while it looks lovely and I appreciated the little bag, clear box, and stickers that arrived with the product -go branding!!! My issue is with the pump itself, it self-doses too little and feels cheep. I think that the could do a little better by choosing a more high quality pump. Also it has such a little quantity, for the price it’s steep. Still A fan though!

Despite the tiny size and high price, I had to try this sunscreen and see if it lived it up to the marketing hype. Look at me, spending my hard-earned cash so you don’t have to! And really, when it comes to this product, you don’t have to. I know it CLAIMS to be the be all and end all of sunscreen, but it’s full of lies, sweet little lies. Of course, your mileage my vary, yadda yadda yadda. It is a clearish, thin serum consistency and it defiintely goes on clear. The pump mechanism is a little wonky, and I can see it being frustrating when this sunscreen gets down to the dregs. Now, the big claim, supposedly you cannot feel or detect this sunscreen when it’s on. That is just not true. It feels like what it is, sunscreen, and in my opinion a bit of a greasy and slippery one that doesn’t seem to really sink in. It isn’t bad, but it certainly isn’t great, and I also felt like it made me oilier and I felt like I was blotting it off all day. I definitely blotted more and had way more grease than usual. Like, a lot more. I know it’s not my moisturizing routine, it’s on lockdown and I gave it plenty of time to sink in before applying. This stuff just isn’t the pure and perfect joy to use that it’s marketed as. In fact, I didn’t really care for it at all. I might give it away. I’ve worn it a few times now, but not enough to say if it will cause breakouts. I feel like I have a few new tiny blemishes, but hard to know if this caused them. The only truly great sunscreen finish I’ve found is Biore Watery Essence. Unfortunately I think the alcohol in the Biore is what makes the finish so awesome, and it also is pretty drying over time. Maybe this Glossier sunscreen would work well for dry-skinned peeps? Oh, last thought, the one time I wore makeup over this the makeup pilled, which is not a problem I have with my Neutrogena Clear Face. (Bring on the thumbs down, I fully expect them, because anytime I leave less than a stellar review for something I get them, even though it’s like, my opinion, man. What’s up with that? Marketers troll MakeupAlley?)

I have to agree with the very thorough review by Tovah below. I am not someone to say that a product broke me out, but this did cause “bumps” on my face after a few days of use (without changing any other product or environment)
Pros:
Very light formula with “slip” without feeling silicone-y
I didn’t mind the smell
I didn’t feel sweaty or gross when I was wearing it (which can happen with physical sunscreens for me)
It didn’t separate my makeup or cause it to cling to dry patches (MUFE HD Stick + tarte shape tape)
Cons:
It did break me out—more like an allergic reaction maybe. I didn’t understand why people prefer physical sunblocks, but now I know why. I am not a person who is particularly sensitive to ingredients (other thing that made me itch was Stila Magnificent metals, but I am otherwise very tolerant)
If you can tolerate the ingredients it *is* a nice texture and works well with makeup. For my dry, fair-med skin I am a fan of Josie Maran’s Sunblock 47

I was so excited when Glossier announced they were making a new sunscreen. I was paranoid they would sell out, so I ordered 3 as soon as they were available on the website. LOL It really is a great consistency. The texture is a gel that reminds me of their milky jelly cleanser. It goes on a bit shiny, but the shine goes away if you let it set for a few minutes. The best part is that it doesn’t irritate my skin like lots of other sunscreens do. This will definitely be my go-to this summer. Also, I’m not sure if you’re allowed to share coupons here, but I just wanted to post one for anyone who is looking. It’s not MY code, just the one I used when I made my purchase.
