I were really hopeful about this product as i like Hamilton as a brand and their sunscreens for the body work for me. However, it did not do the job for the face. Knowing my darkspot prone skin, i applied this product as the first thing in the morning and reapplied after each swimming or 3 hrs on the beach. Also wearing a large hat, i still had terrible dark spots all over my face after a 5 day holiday. The product also caused breakouts allover my face and i am sure caused by the sunscreen as nothing else changed in my daily routine. So sad that i need to look for another ss.

This is THE BEST sunscreen for the face – hands down.
First off, I have the most breakout prone skin (so many different foundations and moisturisers – even ones that are oil-free or say they won’t clog pores – clog my pores and cause pimples), but this has NEVER broken me out and I’ve been using it for years.
It’s very lightly tinted and does not make my face shiny or make my skin feel ‘suffocated’ like other brands of similar sunscreen do, like Sun Sense Daily Face (not a fan). It just feels like moisturiser, dries quickly on the skin and you forget you’re even wearing sunscreen!
SPF 30+ is all you need for sunscreen, if you’re out in the sun a lot then you should be reapplying every 4 hours.

I used this a few days in a row last week and my face has broken out terribly! Started with small bumps around my chin and then my cheeks which has resulted in a full face of massive pimples. My skin is sensitive so I do have to be careful with what sunscreens I use on my face, but this has been the worst!
When I lived in the UK I used the Piz Buin face sunscreen and it was always fine. The only reason I changed from it was because it stings my eyes when I go in the sea. However I’d much prefer that to how my face looks just now. I know it says it’s non comedogenic but I think the problem is that it’s so thick that my skin basically couldn’t breathe which led to blocked pores from sweat and therefore a heap of pimples!

this is a lightly tinted sunblock with spf 30.
It is not a very light lotion, but a thick cream but it does not have any oil to it, so it doesnt give a heavy feeling.
it says on the package that its for combination/oily skin, but with my dry skin it is perfectly fine for me too.
the color is a non-issue because when you rub it in it completely disappears on my NC20 skin (maybe for darker people it will show up but i doubt it).
i once slept in it, and ended up with a pimple where i always get them. but when i take it out at night, there are no problems.
it does give a matte finish as it says so on the tube.
I’m pleasantly surprised by it, and would consider it again. (esp. after the yucky feeling of Vichy’s sunblock for sensitive skin).

The perfect base to my original bare minerals foundation. So far with a weeks wear I have had no reaction to it. Does not offer enough coverage to wear on it’s own. I heard that liquid foundation would cause this to ball up but I can see any powder foundation buffed on top looking beautiful
Never wear this if I think I will be photographed due to the Casper the friendly ghost palor SPFs can give you
Readily available, nice and mosturising and cheap. It would be nice if it had some added skincare benefits but hey it does it’s job

I can’t really fault this product. For me, it did exactly what it claimed – to protect the skin from the sun while going about every day activities, not block pores, and lightly moisturise while evening skin tone. The tint is very sheer, I would probably prefer slightly more coverage and have taken a lippie off for it, but I’m really nit-picking here. I don’t know why they claim it’s matte though, it really isn’t, it leaves my skin looking quite glowy (which is nice anyway). It’s nice and light for every day where, it does not feel like you are wearing sunscreen and it does not leave a greasy film on my face. I have normal skin and find that in summer it is moisturising enough to wear on it’s own over a light serum, but I live in a tropical part of Australia so those in more temperate climates or with dry skin may need to moisturise first. All in all, it’s a great product for a great price.
Edit: I took a few lippies off as it started stinging my skin and I can no longer use it.

I really really like this product. It leaves my face completely moisturized. There isn’t anything I hate about it. There is a downside, it may not be the right product for oily/greasy skin. In summer especially, I always make sure I create a matte surface on my skin with loose powder.
Edit: I stopped using this product to see if my skin was any different. I found that this may have caused my sudden breakouts. The product is just too oily for my skin. Shame, I did really like it. Moving from 4 points down to 3 points.

Yet another sunscreen claiming to be matte but which isn’t. This provides effective sun protection but was too thick and heavy on me and melted a lot on my face during summer. It’s slightly tinted to take away the whitish cast, but on my tanned summer skin, this still left it slightly too pale for my liking even though it all blended out. This is not as greasy in winter, but I didn’t like using it because of its heavy and thick texture.

I used to use this almost every day.. or at least almost every weekday anyway. This was when I was school (3yrs ago) and spent every lunch time sitting out in the gardens. could get burnt very easily! I got this because it said it was matte. It’s not really haha. My skin was quite oily on my t zone but dry on cheeks..everywhere sometimes! So maybe thats why it wasn’t ‘matte’ on me. the oillies. I wore foundation over it most days so it wasn’t too bad. I’m not sure if it contributed to the pimples I was experiencing then. I was doing a lot of the wrong things to my face back then, I now realise. It’s reasonable though. I still use it when I know I’m going to be in the sun for a long time and I said I would buy it agian because I can’t really afford anything too much more $$. That’s the other good thing. It’s cheap!
UPDATE ok I bought shisedio s/s and yes its better but this is still a good cheap stand by
