   This is a traditional zinc-based sunscreen, which means it does a good job of protecting your skin from UVA and UVB rays as long as you apply it properly. It also means it feels a bit thick/heavy on your face and leaves a white cast. It is a liquid-y lotion, but it is not light and it does not disappear on your skin.

   I didn’t love it for my face at all. It was not great under makeup at all. I thought about returning it, but decided it might be fine for use on my hands/arms/legs. On my neck, it settles into my neck lines which you can see because the product is so white. On my arms & legs, I apply a generous amount of this and then smear a skin tint like One Night Only over it; I’ve been able to use up a lot of this sunscreen using it that way.

   I would buy this mineral-based sunscreen over chemical sunscreens at the drugstore, and it does contain good ingredients for the skin. It does not contain any of the bad stuff like fragrance, irritating plant extracts or alcohol. However, I would probably look for a better mineral-based sunscreen if it’s possible.

   The “InVisibleZinc” label on the packaging is clearly for marketing purposes because this stuff is not invisible.

   “invisible zinc” hahahahahaha. I’m fair skinned (MAC N3) and this leaves a noticeable white cast on my skin, to say the least. Just call me Casper. And it didn’t do any favors for my dry skin either. Despite having perfectly moisturized skin when I applied this, within an hour my cheeks had flaky patches. Forget wearing makeup with it. However, it did keep me from burning, didn’t sweat off, and most importantly didn’t upset my acneic, reactive skin. So, for that, it gets 2 lippies, and I get to use up the bottle while doing yard work since looking nice isn’t a requirement for that.

   I was not a fan of this product. I wear powder foundation, and the application is difficult and looked terrible afterwards — very patchy and unnatural. This sunscreen is medium-thickness (not runny, not a heavy cream), but it sets very quickly — you have to blend fast! I’ve found that with all physical sunscreens, there’s a hint of a white cast, and the trick to fading it away is to let the product sink in for as long as possible — at least 10 minutes, and more if possible. I do love the packaging on this product, very convenient and travel-friendly. I won’t continue using this on my face but I’ll use it up for my arms and hands. Not a repurchase for me.

   I paid $12.99 for 2.5 oz in a plastic squeeze bottle with a screw-off cap (I found this in Bed Bath and Beyond’s drugstore/cosmetic section)

   I am very pale with oily skin, and this works really well for me. It doesn’t leave a white cast on me, and I love the matte texture that this has. It’s very hard to find a sunscreen for the face that doesn’t make my skin shiny and also doesn’t cause me to break out, but this one works on both counts. Previously I had thought that only Paula Begoun’s products would do, and they are great, but for a drugstore option, this one is excellent. If you already use Paula’s Choice Hydralight Shine-Free Mineral Complex, try this one out. It isn’t fragranced, it applies easily, and I can successfully apply a bb cream over it without pilling, etc. It doesn’t irritate me at all.

   I’ve been looking for a face sunblock that has titanium dioxide and zinc oxide (which you need to block ALL of the sun’s rays for adequate protection) and I love the foaming cleanser in this line, so I decided to pick this up. It didn’t feel super greasy but took forever to absorb and HOLY WHITE CAST, BATMAN. I’m naturally very fair but this gave me an unattractive ghost look. I would never apply makeup over this because it would just be a disaster. I will continue to use this for days when I’m out in the sun and don’t require makeup, but I wanted to be able to use it for an everyday sunblock so unfortunately it’s not for me.

   I love this moisturizing sunscreen because it is a physical sunscreen (zinc oxide) that does not irritate sensitive skin nor give me break outs! I apply this right after my CeraVe lotion. It is somewhat thick in texture so you do have to apply fast. It also has a slightly white cast, but does not bother me because it seems to hide my pores & give my fair skin a soft look. I pair this up with CeaVe body lotion in the pump & love the results!

   I was using the CeraVe Face Lotion SPF 30 (the one with 23% zinc and a couple other filters) and since I used it all up, I’m now trying the physical only version. I believe this one is new and replaces the other one because they removed the old SPF 30 one on their website. It claims that it is a “lightweight formula that spreads easily and dries with a clear finish.”, and “perfect for daily use”.

   PROS: It absorbs quickly, is COMPLTELY dry to the touch, and has zero shine. And all of the effects last. So yes, it does do what it claims. It also has that less dense texture lightweight products do when spreading it.

   CONS: Makeup is unrealistic over this. My skin isn’t moisturized or smooth feeling after using this, it’s dry and has drag (probably due to the physical filters, never really liked them for this reason). I applied foundation over it more than a couple times and it always does the same thing – for a very brief time, it looks ok, then it like “unblends” as I’m working with it and is ridiculously streaky/patchy/drier. Once my makeup starts to set itself, it looks like hell. One time it looked like my nose and upper lip was flaking from dryness, not the makeup, but my skin itself. I tried to blend it further but it just made the problem worse. Somehow it worked on my forehead and really good areas of skin, but that was like luck. I feel like I’d have to exfoliate well 24/7 to use it. The formula makes everything last longer than usual though, seriously.

   OVERALL: This really is an invisible, shine free, non-melting formula (I don’t go outside much, but for indoor use it’s fine) which would be perfect for daily use (granted you don’t wear makeup and are ok with a really matte finish). Too little for dry skin though. I’ll buy it again though since I have one set of stuff for daily use and another set for when I’m not leaving my house.
