I’ve been, like many, on the hunt for a wearable, all-mineral, high zinc oxide sunscreen for my face. I use only this type of sunscreen on my face. I have tried a great many, from drugstore to dermatologist office. And while EltaMD and Super Goop have some awesome, very wearable formulas, they don’t offer near enough zinc oxide to be effective against UVA1, as I understand it. Living in FL I need something that’s true broad spectrum and effective against UVA1.
I bought this on a whim and I am go glad that I did. 20% ZnO, actually really and truly not greasy, no silicones and NO WHITECAST. At least not on my skin. Those with deeper skin tones might experience whitecast. The finish is basically matte.
I’m used up my first tube and just bought my second. It hasn’t caused me any skin problems, no irritation or stray pimples, etc. It doesnt sting if it gets into my eyes, and it layers well. Coming from Neutrogena SheerZinc, I’m in sun screen heaven here.

Assured protection with high zinc content that is slightly visible. Easy to spread. Fragrance free. My new HG sunscreen!
I like mineral sunscreens but it often leaves a white haze. This does haze a little but not as much. My eyebrows do not turn blue. This protects with non-nano zinc and at 20% i know that its sufficient to claim spf factor of 50. I do like to see it, other ss that are invisible are hard to tell if it’s on and/or requires reapplication. A Japanese formula I have used ended up giving me some sun damage because I could not tell if it was on or not
This sunscreen has a whipped mousse consistency that does not pull or tug around my eye area. Very viscous spreads fast and dries down fast too. A different brand I’ve used was hard to spread. I had another that spread great, but very expensive. It’s water resistant, which the expensive option was not. Dries down but is also moisturizing, coconut oil is on the top of ingredient list. To apply, pat on versus smearing.
Sunscreen rating must be 1 on the EWG.ORG website because i have sensitive skin. Plus, when i am exercising, even the most mild sunscreen burns because my pores are open..
PROS:
– 20% high zinc assured protection
– no haze or whitening effect
– high rating on EWG
– not expensive $15
CONS:
-only available at target and amazon. Not at Ulta (for points)
