Lightweight? Yes. Easy to apply? Yes. Feels nice on the skin and barely noticable after the recommended 15 minute wait time for applying/reapplying sunscreen.
But the smell… makes me slightly nauseous. Literally. It fades after about 30 minutes but I can’t use this if I’m not feeling my best (i.e. upset stomach). I don’t know wtf they put in this to make it smell so incredibly chemically. There are other water-reisitant Anthelios products that don’t have any chemical smell at all.
It protects my easily sunburned skin as long as it says, if I’m in the pool I gotta reapply soon after the 80 minute mark or else I will burn. But I will only push sunscreen time limits if I’m not swimming or sweating.
So for the $20 USD price tag this is definitely NOT anything special. I’ve used less expensive brand name sunscreens that apply and wear just as well without the makes-me-kinda-wanna-puke chemically smell. Definite NO on the repurchase and I would return this if I still had my receipt. I give it 2 lippies because the only thing I like about it is it applies/reapplies decent without any tackiness and absorbs quickly with minimal rubbing.

This is those thick white cream. Has those typical sunscreen smell. This leaves very white appearance (I apply the recommended 1.25 ml each for neck and face, 1/2 tsp for each arm, more than 1/2 tsp to each leg). Never seems to absorb in but as long as it protect me I’m fine as I only reserve this for heavy water activity.
VERY water resistant and protects really well.
I notice on my skin I need to let it sink for 1 hour else I still get tan lines. At first I only left them sink in for 30 mins and I still get tan. I don’t get burn on both occasion for sure.
I always use shower oil daily so removal is not an issue for me.But you definitely need oil based cleanser to remove it.

Gentle? I don’t think so. This hurt my eyes (even though I never apply sunscreen near my eyes), made my face tingle, and gave me two forehead zits. It is so needlessly strong and irritating, and it also leaves a white residue on clothes. If you have sensitive skin and need a chemical sunscreen for the beach, I think you’d be much better off with your pharmacy’s generic version of unscented SPF 30. It would be just as greasy, but at least it wouldn’t burn.

This is one of those GREASY, SHINY, Sunscreens. That said, surprisingly it doesn’t feel too heavy, it’s easy to spread, and doesn’t seem to be causing breakouts so far. It also doesn’t have a white cast on my MAC NC 42 skintone. It makes my eyes water if I put this on my eyelids though.
This sunscreen cannot be used under makeup. It doesn’t absorb or set, it just stays feeling creamy ALL DAY. I have the Clinique Sun Spf 30 for body which is not ideal under makeup on my oily skin as well, but that one absorbs slightly after an hour, so It doesn’t look as shiny as this one. I prefer it over this one because I dont want to look like I showered with oil EVER. Not at the beach, not when hiking, not at work or shopping. That said for BEACH purposes this La Roche one spread easier than The Clinique Sun Body cream and comes with more product. 6.7 ounces I believe vs 5 ounces for the Clinique.
This is fine for the beach if you dont mind shining like a diamond and feeling the creaminess of the product ALL DAY. I will use it up for days when Im gardening or around the house and dont mind messing up my clothes with this creamy stuff. I don’t go to the beach much at all.
Will not repurchase. But I could recommend it if you want something for the beach since it doesnt have a whitecast, it doesnt feel itchy or anything, and says its water resistant for 80 minutes, its fragrance and paraben free and has Broad Spectrum spf 60. I prefer something that feels silky or matte even for the beach though, something like Banana Boat Dry Balance. The Clinique Sun body cream is also less oily, though still creamy feeling.
