Having had quite thick and wavy hair most my life I find it’s always taken a lot of effort and time to get my hair straightened, which is why I learnt to leave it as it is most of the time. Additionally, using GHD hair straighteners since I was barely out of my teens has always resulted in my hair drying out and breaking off a couple of inches below the ends. Another reason for me not to bother! Only recently since trying out Tresemme’s Heat Defence Spray the difference has been instant and I have much less issues now with my hair being subjected to heat damage, even within the first few uses I noticed a difference with the quality of my hair. It protects to 230c which is significantly higher than the GHD maximum temperature which on the manual states 180 c. Of course there’s no way of verifying it does this, other than the difference in the quality and feel of my hair post-straightening which for me is validation aplenty! I have this in the large spray bottle which comes with a handy lock in the neck in case of travelling, however I have a seperate travel bottle specifically for that purpose. I use it by parting my hair into sections whilst damp and spraying each section evenly, especially focusing on ends, before using my straightener. It smells amazing and is very good value for money considering how big the bottle is. No issues with it weighing my hair down either – probably due to the fact that I regularly use a build-up removal shampoo. Highly recommended!

This is a really good heat defence spray. If you use hairdryers and flat irons regularly then this is something you need. This product really protects your hair from heat damage when styling. It especially helps in keeping the tips of you hair from burning and looking frayed.

This product boosts a heat protection of up to 230 degrees Celsius. I like it. I very rarely straighten or blow-dry my hair but when I do this my go-to product. Doesn’t dry out the hair and works well with curly fine hair. Leaves my hair very shiny and smooth.
I can recommend this for those who only occasionally straighten their hair and want good affordable heat defence.
