Excellent for detangling my hair, literally 1 spray on a knot makes it so much easier to comb through. Tonic Lotion has this refreshing tingling sensation (but thankfully no irritation or itching) on my scalp which I’m guessing is down to the Rosemary and Peppermint. I use this on dry hair, not just damp and it’s perfect for use just before styling as it definitely seems to be protecting my hair from heat damage compared to the times I don’t use it or forget to. The only thing that might put people off is the Tea Tree fragrance which is quite strong. Personally I have no issues with it.

Love the scent but I found this really dries out my hair and has no benefits. Might work well for someone with oily hair. Would not repurchase.

Love the smell but not sure I’d buy again. Seems good for the scalp but no noticeable impact on hair.

Been using this for years. It helps soothe my scalp and gives my bake some bounce. It’s kind of expensive and every once and a while I decide it’s not necessary and stop buying it, but I keep going back to it.

Honestly, I think this is a waste of money. It feels nice on the scalp and that’s about it. There is no visible change in how my hair looks. I’m only using it up because I bought it and don’t want to waste money by throwing it away but I already wasted money getting it in the first place. Overall not worth it. I’ll just use it up and then stick to leave in creams from now on.

Great for dry scalp. I have really bad dry scalp especially in the winter. After I shower I spray this right on my roots and I get instant relief . I’ve used this now for over 3 weeks and my scalp has improved so much, no more flaking. It has tea tree oil and I love the smell.

I like this product as a prep for other styling products, but I don’t know that I really understand what it is supposed to do. I use it after the thickening shampoo/conditioner and either alone or before the thickening hairspray. I like it, but I don’t think that it’s something that I’d buy again.

I do think this product made my hair feel softer and healthier. I would not buy it again as it irritates my eyes something awful even though it is not sprayed near them. Also, I have heard how wonderful it smells but would disagree. It smells like bug spray to me. After the product is on my hair it does smell a bit better.
The price is way to expensive

Let’s start by saying I have straight asian hair. I really like the idea of this lotion. I like the idea that it preps your hair for other stages of styling. I like that its supposed to be good for your scalp which I find is often neglected in most hair products. I used up a whole bottle and I’ve stopped using it for a few months now, and I can say that it hasn’t had a huge impact in my life. I liked the sensation it gave my scalp when I sprayed it, and that it did a good job detangling my hair. It didn’t transform my scalp, my hair, or my styling routine, and its expensive, so I am giving it 3 lippies. My hair type is pretty easy to manage so maybe that’s why it didn’t seem to have a huge impact for me. So while its a nice product, it just didn’t have the wow factor for me.

my normal routine out of the shower is: tonic spray, thickening spray, curl conscious defining creme. scrunch, air dry. those 3 products have made my hair (thin, fine, curly) look the best it’s EVER looked.
i wasn’t sure how much of that was connected to the tonic spray, though. i ran out while i was traveling (i use way more of this than i do the other two, it runs out fast). just taking this one product out of my routine and i noticed that my hair wasn’t as soft and was starting to tangle. i struggled all my life with tangled hair until i started using b&b products, and i can safely say that tonic is the great detangler here.
when i use this spray, i NEVER have to brush or comb my hair (which is bad for curly hair). will buy and use this forever.
