   I got this as a sample when I went to the Aveda salon over the weekend. Would I buy it? Maybe. I love it, but the price is staggeringly high.
   I love how much texture and volume I can coax out of my hair with this stuff. A quick spray on my hands, worked into the roots and then two sprays on the length of my hair right before blowdrying (and used in conjunction with my Paul Mitchell mousse) gives me a lot of lasting volume. And when my hair is dry, I can give it a little spritz to give it a nice, piecey texture.
   I’m careful not to use too much since I have read that it can get stiff and sticky if overapplied. When used sparingly, it’s quite nice.
   The smell is intoxicating. I wish it lasted longer on my hair. But it’s so herbal and warm and inviting! Very typical “Aveda” smell, really.
   Packaging is standard. A spray bottle that delivers a nice, fine mist.
   I believe this stuff is $26. Which is a LOT. You get a fair amount, and it’ll last a while, but that’s a pretty hefty investment for a hair styling product. That being said, it may be worth it if I keep getting amazing results from the little sample bottle, and depending on how long the sample lasts.

   I got a sample of this last time I went to Aveda store. The first time I used it, I used too much, and my hair was stiff and sticky. The key to getting soft texture, volume, and style hold is to just use a little bit. I’ve got short, fine hair. I usually give myself 3 sprays to the crown of my head, then comb it thru, blow dry upside down, then use a round brush to finish blow drying. Gives me soft, tousled body, and seems to be great for battling humidity. Lasts ALL day, and doesn’t feel stiff or tacky. It’s a little pricey, but considering you don’t need to use much, a bottle should last a long time. I will definitely be getting the full size.

   Either you like the Aveda product aroma or you don’t… 🙂 I happen to like it, though it is a bit persistent and strong if you use a lot. Luckily my hair is short and I don’t need much of the Texturizing Tonic. I give my hair 2-3 spritzes when it’s damp and fingerstyle with a blowdryer. Provides texture and some hold. I can achieve a more piecy look if I spritz once more to dry hair.

   Was convinced to purchase this after my stylist used it on me at the salon. It was not the only product he used, however, and I’m thinking perhaps the other sprays he spritzed me with downplayed what ended up being disappointing effects.

   This does not give me tousled texture. Instead, it just makes my hair look wet and sticky, as if I had poured hairspray into my hands and then used it to stick various strands together. Even a very light misting gives me a slick, greasy look that I don’t see anyone going for.

   The smell is nice. I’ll give it that. It has kind of a patchouli scent, which may not be everyone’s thing, but I like it.

   One more negative is definitely the price. Incredibly high for such a small bottle. Will not repurchase!

   I will preface this review by saying two things:

   1. I work at an Aveda salon.
   2. I love dirty-looking hair.

   When this product was released, we all lost our minds. The excitement was thick. I am legitimately obsessed with sea salt spray. I’ve tried at LEAST 10 different kinds: High end, drugstore, and everything in between.

   Aveda’s texture tonic (their newest product) is my absolute favorite of all-time. It’s a sea salt spray, yes, but in my opinion it’s definitely better than most. It also has cane sugar in it, so it combats that filmy feeling my hair usually gets from sea salt spray.

   The. Smell. Is. Amazing. It boasts this spicy, citrusy, almost fall-like fragrance that is completely delicious.

   You can use it wet or dry, and while it hasn’t worked on EVERY client’s hair, it’s a product we can’t seem to keep on the shelves. It can be blow dried in, or air dried; it’s extremely versatile!

   My one complaint is that the bottle IS quite small for the 25.00 price tag, and I tend to go through it rather quickly.

   All in all, I’m completely obsessed, and I know plenty of clients who feel the same!
