   This was the first curl activator I ever tried, and it brought out curls I never knew existed! I’ve tried lots of other curl products but always come back to this one; for the price it really can’t be beat. I have long, thick type 2c/3a hair (black/Indian mix) that is extremely frizzy and find that the weight of this product suits it quite well – it brings out my curls nicely without weighing them down or being able to feel the product in my hair. It also smells lovely and the scent lingers, which I really like. It doesn’t however do a great deal for the frizz, but I use a leave in and oil to assist there. All in all a great, cheap product that lasts for ages and does a good job.

   I have thick type 4c natural hair and this stuff is great for what it does. I use it with the lcb method (liquid/cream/butter) to do defined finger coils. The smell is tropical like coconut but not overpowering. Price is just right at around 6$ at walmart. My only downside is that it dosnt give me the best defined twist out but i have other products for that. Absorbes into the hair very well and leaves it soft but not weighed down or greasy. Absolutly worth trying.

   I tried the Cantu Curl Activivator cream before so I will review the Cantu Coconut Curling cream in comparison to that. I was worried to try it thinking it would be greasy. My hair is fine 2c and low porosity. It wasnt greasy at all but it didnt give as much volume as the curl activator. The scent is the same too, mango/fruit punch scent. It’s creamy but not thick at all, like a lotion. It defines my hair in smaller ringlets and elongate my curls, while the activator cream gives fatter ringlets and tighter curls and has a medium hold. This have a much softer hold, so I pair it with my Aussie hair gel. Overall I like this curl cream, and its around 6 dollars. But if I have to choose I will stick with the curl activator cream.

   I’ve heard this isn’t “CG” (not sure on offending ingredient), so that was a disappointment–til i used it in spite of not being CG it’s fabu! I re-wetted my 2nd day hair w a homemade sea salt spray then applied about teaspoon blob to my mid shaft & ends then a bit of Aussie freeze gel (same amount) & Pantene Air-Spray. Well…………WOWZA! Curls! I will continue to keep using this even if not CG. & smells awesome! I <3 cantu I use all of their natural hair products sold at my Kroger!

   Needed something for when I styled my hair because just plain coconut oil didn’t do it for me; so I picked it up from my corner beauty supply store for about $6. Very nice smell which reminded me of pina coladas (a gentlemen friend gave me compliments on) . Thick, but light and whipped consistency which was greasy and didn’t sink in fast enough for my liking. On its own it ended up making my naturally kinky and curly hair dry and crispy, no bueno- if I were looking for a hair gel I’d buy that, just saying. However, I discovered the LOC (Liquid, Oil, Creme) method for natural hair and this stuff found new life, or so I assumed. Black castor oil and aloe vera juice couldnt save it, because my hair is still dry but greasy. I hate to throw stuff away, but bye felicia. I’ll have to find something a little more kind to my hair or learn to make it myself because this and my hair are not in agreement.

   This stuff smells great — like sweet cream of coconut! However, this product didn’t work the way I had hoped. I have shoulder length fine wavy hair. I’ve used Cantu leave in conditioner and thought this might be similar. What I like to do is scrunch a bit into damp hair and let it air dry into waves/curls. The leave in conditioner kept my hair flexible and soft – it was more of a soft-set. This product made my hair stiff and crunchy after it dried, the way mousse and gel do. This might be good for someone with thicker hair and a stronger curl structure, but for my fine wavy hair it was not for me.

   I have thin & fine 3b hair. While I have no real issues with this product it didn’t seem to be for my hair type.
   It have my curls no definition at all, while I must admit my hair was really soft.
   It seems this product should be used more as a hair dressing instead of a styling perfect.
   I will definitely continue to try the other Cantu products though.

   So… My hair is pretty curly but thin and it’s long. If I let it air dry with little to no product, it gets very frizzy. Before, I would just put on argan oil, leave in conditioner, and mousse. The mousse is what doesn’t make my hair frizzy but it looks wet and it’s crunchy. I tried spray gel, good but again, crunchy.

   My cousin has the same hair as I do. She showed me this stuff and I fell in love instantly. It smells so nice. She gave me her tub which was about half and she said she had it for a long time and still had tons left. This stuff is incredible. I put this on after I towel dry my hair. You don’t really need to use a lot of it. I’d say maybe half a teaspoon. I don’t really know how my hair is going to look when my hair is still wet. If I use enough, it looks really good. My curls are very defined and most importantly, no frizz!

   I can’t put it on when my hair has dried after a shower with no product. It just doesn’t work for me since the top of my hair gets very frizzy and I don’t want to use a lot of it to see what it would look like. What I do is I wet my hair with my hands and just work my fingers through my hair a little bit to calm the frizziness on top and then I apply it and it looks great!

   I went on a hunt to buy another tub just cuz and had a hard time finding a place that had it (my cousin that gave me the tub lives in a different province) so I made at least 10 phone calls to different stores and finally found a place in Edmonton that sells the whole line. I found it in a wig shop that doubled as a salon. And it was only $8.95! My cousin paid $12.99 and Amazon was selling it for $20 so I lucked out.

   I really love this product and I wear my hair naturally more often now because of it!

   I have really no big issues with this product, except for it claiming to be mineral oil free, even though that is not 100% the case, based upon the product’s ingredient listing. I have a mix of fine textured curls and waves on my head. However, my hair is naturally very dry. Which is why, I prefer yo use styling creams on my hair the most. I feel that this product is definitely very moisturizing, and makes my hair feel softer and look shinier, but I actually like Cantu Curl Activator Cream better than this product, because it does leave my hair on the greasy side, no matter what. It defines my hair nicely, but for my hair I do experience moisture overload if I apply it daily to my hair. Plus, I have dry skin and this stuff actually starts to make my fave feel greasy, after a while. Plus, it does bypuildup in my hair with daily usage. However,, it does keep my hair from frizzing up, but I don’t have major issues with frizz, so I’m not sure exactly how well it would work for someone who does, especially during the dreadful heat of Summer.

   For me, this product would never be one that I could ever use all year round. Also, I don’t feel that this prideful should have such a high amount of fragrance in it. Don’t why Cantu includes such a high amount of fragrance in a lot of their products, as that’s not a major necessity in any hair care product.

   Will I butpy this product again? No. And, that’s only because I happen to actually prefer Cantu’s Activator Cream over this product.

   I will say that with any curl styling cream or simply any product labeled for use towards styling naturally curly hair with, it is designed to only esthetically enhance what you already have. As, such products arevnot designed to give someone a different type of look to their natural hair than what they are already working with, or what they may honestly desire for their hair to look like the most. Wearing ones hair natural is all about loving and embracing the natural hair that God blessed you with. And, simply finding and using using products that will allow for your own hair’s natural beauty to shine thru in the best of ways.

    I’m always a little bit iffy trying out curl products marketed to ethnic hair types, as I am Caucasian. My hair texture is fine, but very dense, with a weak curl pattern that needs products for hold and is always thirsty for moisture.

    With that said, I am very much enjoying this product!

    First off, it smells absolutely incredible – a fresh melon scent. The scent isn’t just contained to the jar of product either. I’ve had this in my hair for 3 days so far and I’m still getting whiffs. The first and second day the scent was very noticeable. I’m 6 months pregnant and very sensitive to smells and this didn’t bother me at all. I found it very pleasant. My hair smelled great!

    Since my curl pattern is weak, I wasn’t expecting this product to be strong enough to stand alone in my hair, and I was right. For me, this is more like a highly moisturizing leave in conditioner with some slight hold.

    I apply this to freshly washed, towel dried hair, fully coating from roots to tips. I then brush it through and smooth my hair up into a top knot to dry. I wear a sleek bun for that day, letting my hair set. By the end of the day, I have loose, hydrated, smooth, bouncy curls. This is exactly what I wanted this product to do. It holds my up do together nicely and my hair doesn’t feel greasy or weighed down at all. I can tell there is product in my hair, since my curls do have hold to them, but it doesn’t feel gross at all. I then get a few days of loose, bouncy, fluffy hair. This is my hair routine when I don’t feel like wearing my hair down and packing it with hard hold gels.

    I have a few other curl creams that give me this nice result, but double the price. This is a big tub with a ton of product for around $6. I have long hair, down to my lower back, and I don’t need that much product to coat my hair.

    This is a win for me, and it’s great that is Curly Girl safe. No silicones. All natural. This will rinse out easily.
