I feel like this product is probably for curly hair, but it works for my thick, damaged, ultra fine shoulder length hair. I took one lippie off because it does not control frizz in humid weather, but then again the only thing that works for me is gel in that kind of weather.
I used this before I flat iron. I flat iron my hair in sections. I squeeze out a very small amount (1/2 a pea size) and rub on my palms, then I smooth onto my hair. After that I flat iron. It took some practice to figure out the correct amount to use. If you use too much, and you have hair like mine, your hair will look greasy. On the top of my head I apply a little gel.
The result, heavenly smelling, soft hair that held the style. (The smell fades in about 2 hours.) This is the style I was going for. I dislike a crunchy style and hair spray that works in my hair (with alcohol) is drying. It is like a deep conditioning treatment.
Although if I get this on my face I will break out. I have VERY sensitive skin to styling products. (I have to buy hair gel online for the extremely sensitive.)
Price: a bit high, but it is more natural than other products and they don’t test on animals (according to their web-site) so it is acceptable to me.
Packaging: Nothing special, but it works.
UPDATE:
I’m allergic! My face breaks out when i use this. I didn’t realize it at first. If you have sensitive skin- I would not recommend it.

there is absolutely nothing special about this product at all. It is just snother unnecessary addition to Carol’s Daughter’s line of expensive products that are filled with a lot of unnecessary fillers and ingredients that truly do nothing towards improving the look and feel of your hair at all. Never again, eill I be using snything from Carol’s Daughter ever again. I instead now practice the CG Method, abd only use DevaCurl products exclusively on my hair and scalp now.

I use this along with the matching shampoo. It’s the first Carol’s Daughter products I’ve tried and I’m impressed.
My hair is about the middle of my back but is fine and is very wavy/curly. My scalp is oily while the ends of my hair are dry and I color my hair every 5-6 weeks. In the past I’ve used a clarifying shampoo for my oily scalp and a moisturizing conditioner for the ends of my hair but it caused havoc on my hair color. I’ve tried other sulphate free products before but they all left my scalp feeling dirty. I’d read about Carol’s Daughter and decided to give it a try.
I love this shampoo/conditioner combo. The shampoo leaves my scalp feeling clean and the conditioner leaves my hair soft and virtually frizz free. It has extended the life of my color and I have noticed less hair in the shower drain. I still use a clarifying shampoo about once a week but I love this line of products.
I will definitely be buying this again.

Impulse buy for me. Was browsing CVS for something to replace my favorite Pureology Texture Twist, which is discontinued. I had heard of CD and decided to try it. I didn’t realize at first that this product was for damp hair, but figured I’d give it a go. I have fine but abundant brunette, shoulder-length, slightly wavy hair with partial highlights. It is prone to breakage and snarling at times. It can also be very easily weighed down with products. I like a soft, voluminous look, not the sleek, flat look. I’m not sure how this would work for that…probably fine with the right tools, but that is not what I was aiming for.
I used about a large pea-sized amount on my damp hair. Worked it through well as directed. Didn’t use any other styling product. Proceeded to blow-dry with round brush. Pleasantly surprised to find that the brush glided right through and my hair wasn’t static-y or flyaway. I was able to create soft waves and volume. Hair didn’t feel greasy. VERY pleased…I topped off with with a bit of hairspray and I love the way my hair looks, feels, and smells!

I was really excited about this product, but super bummed that it made my hair overall very greasy and limp. The texture of the product is pretty thick – almost like a petroleum jelly. I have super long and thick hair, so I used about a dime-size amount. It made my hair really hard to blow dry and the ends looked frayed and dried out.
I won’t be using (or buying) this again.

I got a sample of this in my ipsy bag. And wow! I love it. This is supposed to go in your hair when damp so that when you blow dry or use hot tools you wont get frizz or breakage and so that it protects your hair from heat. Well I really do not like to use my blow dryer or hot tools in the summer. Because my hair is so frizzy. But I wanted to try the sample out anyways. So I just used it like a curl cream. I applied this to my hair after I washed it, scrunched it up a bit and let it air dry. I loved the result. I got soft, bouncy curls with zero frizz. This held up all day long in the hot humid weather. I could not believe it! I have gone through the entire sample and I will be going to target for the full size.

I received this as a sample in my June Ipsy bag and was excited try it since I’ve been eyeing the line now sold at Target. This cream goes in wet hair before blow drying, it’s a dense white cream that almost seems rough going into the hair. I admit while applying it I was immediately terrified that I would end up with stiff straw for hair but I went with it.
It didn’t make my hair hard to blow out, and what I was left with was so impressive that I’m buying some of this stuff at Target as soon as my sample tube runs dry! I’m in upstate NY and right now, it’s June and the temps are getting up there and the June rains are here, so frizz and control are a MUST if I want a good hair day. THIS stuff controls my hair like nothing else. My hair is soft, bouncy and utterly frizz free even as the storms come rolling in.
BONUS? This stuff also SMELLS INCREDIBLE. Very summery and lush, coconuts and a white flowers, it’s not overpowering but the scent lingers very lightly in my hair all day and well I just love that part!
