My biggest cons with this product is that the scent is strong and does linger, and it starts to build up in the hair and on the scalp, when used daily. even though it is supposed to be geared towards transitioners, I am not currently transitioning, however, I decided to try the product anyways. Outside of the cons that I mentioned, it performs well in the hair at keeping it soft and frizz free. It doesn’t act as a very curl defining product, however, I don’t buy products looking for them to add a bunch of extra curl definition to my hair. I just look for them to enhance the curls that I already have. I did use this as both a leave in moisturizer+styler in my hair, by the way.
With the product, you really have to shake the bottle slot to get the product to be squeezed out. As, it would probably do better being in a squeeze tube or a pump bottle, rather than in the packaging that it is in now. That way, it would make things much more convenient to get each and every bit of product out of the container, without having to put in a whole lot of arm work in order to do so.
I eventually ended up moving on from this product, however, I wouldn’t say not to try it. It may end up being a staple for you, whether you’re transitioning or not. It just didn’t end up being a staple for me is all.

This stuff is amazing. I have fine/medium hair that has been highlighted over and over. I’m trying to use less heat and dye and stay away from silicones. This stuff makes my hair soft and doesn’t weigh it down. I don’t even have to blow dry my hair and it looks smooth and soft now.

Wonderful, natural, cruelty-free, fair-trade product that gives hair soft, beach-hair texture. It smells wonderful as well 🙂 The best leave in product on the market!

First off I gotta say that I flippin’ love Shea Moisture products! This item is just one of the many that I have stockpiled in my bathroom’s vast cornucopia of hair products.
I am of Mexican heritage but sadly, I was not fortunate enough to get my family gene’s of luscious thick locks:'( Instead I got dense but thin hair.. (Boooo!!!) So with that being said, my whimpy hair got even worse after having my baby. I noticed that it became extremely dry and brittle out of nowhere with all of these annoying little baby hairs sticking up everywhere all of a sudden as if my hair wasn’t prone to frizz enough already! (booo again) and to top it off I ended up getting it chemically processed with some bleach thrown in the mix which was just the cherry on top that just made my hair feel ruined. Although I loved my new color my hair felt pretty damn nightmarish and scary. Now, I use sulfate free shampoos to keep my color vibrant longer so I usually try and stay away from products that have silicones or that tend to build up. So After all of the absolute craziness that my hair had gone through I knew that my hair was in need of some serious help but I didn’t want to get anything too heavy either so I ended up reaching for this gem and boy am I glad that I did!
First of all, the smell is just ahhhmazing! sugary buttery and sweet idk but trust me on this one…it smells pretty damn good. Secondly, as with most of their fantabulous products, it has no cones or any of that heavy gunky sticky not so good for your hair type of stuff. Just pure, natural, nourishing goodness! It highlights the raw shea butter and argan oil for what makes this product really work but if you look in the ingredients list the goodness of this product doesn’t quite stop just there! it just keeps on going with soo many great and very strengthening ingredients. I usually let my hair air dry and this does a nice job at keeping my frizz at bay and doesn’t leave it feeling crunchy or greasy. I can honestly say it has made a difference in the look and feel of my hair. Just make sure that you use a little at a time and only on mid lengths to ends or else you will end up with the greasies if you use too much.
But if you use it moderately it will definitely work its magical goodness on your tresses!
So overall, If you’re a fan of hair products that are more on the natural side or are an Anti-cones type of gal with hair that needs a little more TLC for having been chemically processed or just parched for that matter, (or if you just like to smell like a cookie)
then you should definitely give this baby a whirl!
It may not be the absolute best on the market but for the price and for being all natural it sure does one heck of a good job.
Long story short, this stuff is pretty friken awesome!! ^.-

This is probably the best leave-in product I’ve ever tried, and I’ve tried a lot (Kenra, It’s a 10, Aussie, Organix, etc). It takes some experimentation to figure out how much you need for your hair texture and density. I have naturally straight blonde hair that is fine in texture, thick in density, and prone to dryness and frizz. Since I’ve started using this, my hair is so soft, but not greasy or heavy; it feels like it does after I get it professionally cut and styled. I also air dry, which used to mean having crazy-looking hair that I would then have to straighten or style a lot, but this product helps my hair dry so smooth. When my hair is damp but not soaking wet, I distribute a little bit between my fingertips and then concentrate it from the ears down, and then if anything is left on my hands, I run them through my roots to add a little moisture. I found this while on a hunt for a silicone-free leave-in product. (There’s nothing wrong with silicones, but most of them are not water-soluble – they require sulfates to wash out of your hair, which means that if you use sulfate-free products like me, you get a build-up of a silicone seal on your hair, which prevents moisture from sinking in.) This product was one of the few I found that is silicone-free and reasonably priced – you get a lot of product for about $10-$12. My only complaint is that the packaging isn’t the best; the word “milk” made me believe it would be runny, but it’s actually a light cream. The bottle is sturdy plastic, which makes it hard to squeeze it out. I think a pump or more flexible packaging would be better. But I can deal with it because what’s inside is so great!

If I had to pick one product to have for the rest of my life it would be this.
I made the transition to natural hair care about 5 months ago. I have thin, baby fine hair that is easily weighed down and dries out very easily. I struggled with keeping moisture in my hair (I used mainly jojoba oil and conditioning treatments) but this product has really helped me.
I shampoo my hair about once every 7 days with some water rinses between. I apply this product about every 3 days, wet or dry hair. I prefer to use it on wet hair with very low heat to help my hair take it in, but it works well on dry hair too if you gently rub it in and then brush a little while later. My hair is about bra strap length and I use maybe the size of a quarter in my palm. I put it everywhere on my head, scalp included, and never have had an issue with it weighing my hair down or causing me to be greasy. A little goes a long way.
The scent is quite nice.

not bad, probably best shea leave in from this company

I work at Sally’s so I’m around products all day, therefore I’ve tried just about everything to help my fine, color treated, extremely damaged/fried, and unmanageable hair.. I’ve used it’s a 10, all soft by Redken, real control, etc. And I’m also a hairdresser, so literally I’ve tried everything I know to help my hair. The Shea line in Shea moisture is AMAZING. So much moisture, so soft, so shiny & healthy looking! I love this as my leave in. I also use the moisture retention shampoo and deep treatment masque. (Shampoo can be heavy so I mix it with volumizing shampoo). Much better than anything I’ve tried! It’s not expensive at all, and it’s natural ingredients. No alcohols or sulfates. Love love love it!
