I have very thick, dry, wavy, long hair.
I liked this. It helped my hair to retain its wavy pattern as well as to remain “frizz-free” for the most part (my hair still always frizzes no matter what).
It also didn’t make my hair feel crunchy or hard.
Do keep in mind, it’s for thick hair, so if you have thin hair, steer clear as this is going to weigh your hair down.

I love the product and I would buy it again! I can recommend it 🙂

I currently use this to “prime” my hair for my other curl products. I want something moisturizing, since I follow up with two products that can be slightly drying – Curl Keeper Original, which is heavily glycerin-based, and a mousse, which has alcohol denat as one of the main ingredients. It does an okay job adding moisture to my hair, but I wouldn’t call it a “style milk”, personally. I don’t think it does much to my hair that a more straight forward, silicone free hair oil wouldn’t do. I also wish it provided a little more slip, like the conditioner in the same series does. Granted, I’m transitioning from a hair oil with a fair amount of silicone, so that’s probably plays in, but a little slip would’ve been nice still.
I don’t understand why this bottle doesn’t have a pump, like the conditioner does. Out of the two, this is the one that really needs it, since it’s quite a lot thicker than the conditioner.
Overall, it’s alright. I will use it up, but I will definitely explore other options once I run out. Especially since I originally bought it to replace my beloved (but silicone-containing) label.m curl cream. Turns out this is not a product that can stand on its own as a curl enhancer, which makes it feel slightly redundant.
+ Cruelty free
+ Silicone free
+ Organic
+ Decently moisturizing, works alright as a “primer” for other curl products
+ Smells great
– I don’t feel like it helps style my curls all that much
– A product that has a bit of an identity crisis. Even after reading about it several times, I wasn’t sure what to expect of it. What’s the benefit of this over the SM curl soufflé? I still don’t know. Which may be part of why it was a bit of a “meh” experience using it
– The bottle should come with a pump

This stuff honestly does not do much for my hair, except just make my hair feel yucky and not even work as a good moisturizer or curl styler. Also, I’m really not a big fan of the scent of this product at all. And, no, I will never purchase this stuff ever again.

I also have its curl enhancing smoothie , if you are not sure which one to buy , buy the smoothie. Why? Because firstly I could not use this one because it was wayyy tooo thick to get it out of the bottle. After a month or so one day got really pissed off while I was in a hurry, I cut the bottle with a knife !! in order to get the product out. This a styling milk I would expect a runny at least more fluid texture but it is not.
Second, I get almost the same results with this one and the smoothie one. I dont see really a big difference. Smoothie one defines curls just slightly better.

This is wonderful, even for Asian hair. Totally hooked on it and it is not available in my country. But I have to avoid at the roots or scalp area as it will grease on me very fast.
Good for styling my hair with hot barrel thingy. The curls come out very natural and beautiful. One full size bottle lasts me for years.

For reference- I have extremely fine, low porosity curly hair (about 2C level curls) that goes to my natural waist. My hair gets greasy and weighed down very easily and cannot handle too much product.
This is my go-to leave-in conditioner. A stated above, my hair gets weighed down and greasy incredibly easily. It also dries out a lot and can get stringy or brittle when I use products with too much protein. When I put this into my hair after it is freshly washed, I always end up with moisturized, bouncy curls that are soft to the touch. It also helps to resist frizz, even when I tend to touch my hair too much. To use, I scrunch about a quarter-sized drop of this into wet hair and let it air dry. My ends are moisturized and my curls are defined without being stringy or crunchy. The smell is also pleasant but not overpowering or too coconut-y (I’m sensitive to coconut scents). My only complaint about this product is the packaging. As you get to the last 1/3 of the bottle, it can be a bit of a struggle to squeeze out because the bottle is so stiff. I’m down to my last 15-20% of product and will probably have to replace it soon because I just can;t get the rest out.
Aside from the packaging issues, I really love this product and will continue to repurchase as my perfect lightweight leave-in conditioner!

About me: mixed race, type 3c hair just past shoulders (not that much hair overall, but big volume), kinky and frizzy. I’ve tried other leave-ins (kinky curly knot today, random cantu stuff, the thicker shea moisture one in this line) and this product is still my top pick for price and effectiveness.
+++ cooperates with my favourite styling gels (kinky curly, uncle funky curly magic), no clumpies
+++ lightweight, doesn’t make my hair feel greasy/heavy
+++ nice smell (but if they made a fragrance-free version I would buy that too)
— would love if it was cheaper, or if a larger discounted size was available
— the packaging is annoying, once you get half-way through the bottle it all sits at the bottom. It would do better in a bottle that stands on its cap – I end up keeping it upside down anyway

I usually have difficulties with Shea Moisture leave-in products. I often find them to thick for my fine hair. I also find that they cause excessive build up. I had more success with this product because it is light weight. It smells great and left my hair soft and moisturized. I probably won’t repurchase because I have alternatives that I like better but people with finer hair might enjoy this product.

A HG item if mine, this product tames frizz and adds curl and shine for a lovely result. All natural made with neem oil which promotes growth. A must try, smells wonderful too 🙂
