I always used the JF volume-building mousse before but decided to try the spray on a whim. Usually root boosting sprays leave my scalp either sticky or greasy (though either way, not “boosted”) but that’s happily not the case with this product.
The spray goes on pretty lightly/evenly via the non-gloppy trigger nozzle and adds realistic/natural-looking volume to my roots without weighing down the hair, making it feel crunchy, sticky or greasy – or really feeling like there is product present in the hair at all. Major plus. It has a light scent and blowdries out feeling and looking clean but with an extra oomph of volume – though no added frizz. I only use this pre-blowdry, on wet/damp hair.
The bottle costs about $7.50 full price and lasts a while at 6 fl oz with only a few spritzes each wash day. I’ve converted to this version from the mousse and am very happy with how well and thoughtlessly it works. Definitely recommend.
