I’ve been hoping to find an affordable natural hair spray that I like, but it’s so hard because non-aerosol spraying mechanisms are all terrible. This is no exception. I hate this stuff. It sprays out too much product and goes really far (I sprayed this on my bangs and it somehow always ends up all over the shower curtain two feet behind me). It also weighs them down so much when I spray it on and causes them to separate, and then he wet look never goes away so my bangs look different than the rest of my hair. As a final complaint, I have to say, this smells worse and more toxic than non-natural hairsprays. No thanks.

This product provides lift at the roots and medium hold to the hair. It can be used several times throughout the day without making the hair heavy or greasy. On top of that it is hypoallergenic. Since I have superfine hair and a very sensitive scalp this is about the only product that works for me. I found it after a long time of searching. Now I’m always worried that I should run out of it.

I have thick, curly hair and didn’t like this product at all. It takes a lot to make my hair stay and then it is sticky and heavy. Might work better with finer hair.

Nice scent, medium hold, easy to wash out.

This is a truly great hairspray. I’ve had this for years, but never really used it except for securing the hold of my french braid, to which it did an okay job. I recently got a shoulder-length haircut and needed something to style it with so that my hair looked less like a space-helmet. I use a round bristled brush to sweep and lift my fringe up so that it’s out of my face, and then give it a few spritz of L.A. Hold. Result: my hair stays put the whole day, and whenever I feel like I’ve overdone it, I can easily brush it out with my fingers and volume is still retained. The best part? No one can tell what I’ve done to my hair. I’ve had 2 coworkers comment on how great my hair looks, how it seems to be styled differently but they just can’t put a finger on what I’ve done. It feels great! Not to mention that it’s made from organic oils and plants, and is safe enough to use everyday without causing build-up or damage. It also smells like watermelon-y heaven.
Just a tip though – I find that this hairspray works best when you want your hair to fall a certain way, and not if you want to secure a heavy-duty up-do or braid. I find that it’s also important to use a bristled brush to move your hair into place as it ensures an even coating and firmer hold – you also want to avoid that look of having hard, bunched together strands which I find occurs with using wide-toothed brushes.
I plan to repurchase this when I run out – it’s a great price for what it does, and its organic technology!

I’m on probably my third or 4th bottle of this spritz by now, with plans to order 2 more soon. I’ve tried a number of cheap spritzes over the years, and most turned out either too weak or two sticky. But this Giovanni spritz works well, holding my hair back in ponytail styles while still brushing out easily later. It’s available on online drugstores for under $7 right now.
Update 7/2013: About to order 2 more bottles. Still love this stuff.

I’ve been trying to go more clean in my hair products, so I bought a trial size of this. I wanted to love it, but just don’t. It goes on well and the smell is okay, but it leaves a crunchy feel and it’s sticky. I love Sebastian hairspray normally, but like I said, trying to go more clean. On to the next experiment!

This is the best hairspray ever. The scent is amazing and it’s filled with some pretty good ingredients, especially for a hairspray. I have had a problem with two bottles, where the nozzles would jet out hairspray, instead of mist it, [that wasn’t fixable] but I can easily open this and pour it into mini travel misters. I have a mini mister for home and a mini mister that I keep in my purse at all times. That may be a big headache for some, but it’s not a big deal for me 🙂 A lot of hairprays make my scalp itch or flake off of my hair all together [which is gross!] but this hasn’t caused me any problems. It has great hold no matter what I need to use it for, without leaving my hair hard as a brick. I love this!
Edit: 12.30.10
Eventhough this bottle can be opened and transfered into seperate containers, [which is a REALLY good thing for travel] I have been through 2-3 bottles since and EVERY single spritzer totally stopped working on me. They may be getting clogged [which I was never able to fix, no matter what I did.] I don’t know. Having hairspray come out in a jet stream is not useful at all. Very dissapointing.

I have straight hair, somewhat dry, and wanted to try something with natural ingredients to hold the waves I put in my hair with a curling iron. Worked perfectly… even looked great the next morning and using it didn’t make my hair look dirty more quickly (which I usually hate about styling products). I was able to use it and still only wash my hair every third day. Wasn’t sticky, just slightly stiff, but that was exactly what I wanted.

I bought this out of desperation as most hairspray makes my scalp itch. I am glad I did! It holds down all my fly aways and makes my hair look polished. No white flaky residue. This isn’t a natural hold hairspray – I find it to be quite stiff (which I like). I really haven’t noticed a scent. Overall I would repurchase.
