This hair gel (it’s yellow…not the blue one which is more popular with curlies around here) works for me…I rarely have a bad hair day when I use it. My hair is very fine, color-treated, and I think it’s 3a/b curl pattern.
I squeeze excess water out of my hair (after washing and conditioning…I always leave a little conditioner in and work it in), put a quarter sized blob in my palm, rub my hands together so they’re all coated, and then rake it through. I do this a couple of times to make sure my hair is all coated. Then I blot it with a microfiber towel or t-shirt and let it air dry (i’ve also diffused and it works well then also). When it’s dry I scrunch out any crunchiness and I’m good to go.
It defines my curls and holds them in place. My hair isn’t frizzy and doesn’t feel product-y. I sometimes try other gels but always come back to it. Plus it’s CHEAP. The plastic bottle isn’t my favorite; it’s slippery when it’s wet and I’m always dropping it. If it had a pump it would be perfect.
Yes, I’ll buy it again.

I’m trying to encourage the curl in my hair and have been trying different gels. This is a strong gel, but it didn’t do anything to encourage my curl.
I haven’t had any success with other gels, either, to encourage my curl.
