This is an excellent product. I have super curly, frizzy hair (3b/3c) and TONS of it. I love layering this as the last stage in my styling process. I first use leave in, followed by Curl Keeper and then this lovely gel. My results are super shiny, super defined curls. This gel doesn’t flake, plays well with other products, gives medium flexible hold, and feels moisturizing. I will be repurchasing this as it is now a staple product for me and my curly daughter.

My hair is color treated, naturally spiral curly hair 3b mixed with a few 3a & 3c’s…I tried this gel last year hoping it would work great but nope!
No matter what styling combo I tried & even tried it alone I got horrible frizz every time! But I will say it smelled so good!!!

This is a good gel! I only need a small amount to get strong hold with no crunch, and it costs less than $3 at Rite Aid. The smell is very light and pleasant and isn’t really detectable in my hair after it dries. It works well both when I air dry and when I diffuse and doesn’t take forever to air dry.

I absolutely LOVE this stuff!!!! I am a 2c/3a curl type, with hair about 3 inches above my belly button when it’s curly. This defines and holds my curls for 3 days (which I wash my hair every 3-4 days so it holds all the way until my next washing). After washing my hair, I apply leave in conditioner first, then a different kind of moisturizer, and then I put in about 2 quarter sized dollops of this gel, and I scrunch it in my hair. NO flaking whatsoever, and it is firm, yet touchabley soft. If there is ever any hard area, it’s nothing a little “scrunch the crunch” can’t do to get rid of it. I’m a curlygirl method follower (no sulfates, silicones) and this follows that routine, it also is alcohol free, which is perfect for my hair since my hair dries out easily. As far as smell, it doesn’t have a super strong smell. My conditioner and leave-in conditioner are the only things I smell on my hair. Plus, it’s super duper cheap!!!! I HIGHLY recommend!!! I’m in LOVE!!!!!!

I hated everything about this gel. For the price what did i expect right?
The bottle is revamped and apparently the formula is “new & improved” and alcohol free. Alcohol in a lot of products naturally dries out hair. Not surprisingly this gel still feels incredibly dry on my hair. It gives it that crunchy to the touch feel and does nothing else for my hair. What’s worse is that when I wash it out, I get a buildup of little dandruff looking flakes all over my hair. I would never buy this again.

I was really disappointed in this. After many tries, I have deemed this useless. It made my hair dry, hard, dull, limp and dirty looking. It in no way defined my curls or enhanced them. I tried using a lot, a little, mixing with conditioner and oils and using by itself.. It doesn’t mix well with other products. It turns clumps up and is hard to apply.
The only pro’s are that it’s cheap, easy to find and smells pleasant like candy.

This gel is decent, but I won’t be repurchasing. I have fine hairs (but a lot of them), long, naturally curly, saw this in Walmart and decided to give it a whirl since it’s so cheap.
It smells decent, kind of like Starbursts, but thankfully it does fade (I don’t like a lot of strong scents in my hair). It’s considerably thick, but easy to spread. It didn’t really help control my frizz that much, and didn’t do a whole lot for my hair, which is why I won’t be repurchasing, just made it look kind of so-so, kind of dull and lifeless.
I did get a bit of crunch in certain parts of my hair, but it’s easy to scrunch that out.
Overall, it’s a decent gel, and for the price I don’t feel guilty about trying it out, but it’s just not for me.

I love this gel! I’ve been using it for about two years, and I still love it. The hold is good and it doesn’t flake at all. It has a really strong hold, and works well in keeping frizz down.
I use it in conjunction with a hairspray (I can never quite reach the hairs on the back of my head), and it works for me.
I recommend it to all my curly-headed friends, and with a price so cheap ($2!!), you can’t go wrong.

I love this product! I’ve been on a search FOREVER to find a gel to tame my thick curly hair. And I have found my HG! I use about a palm full of this stuff and my hair is controlled all day. People compliment my curls when I use this product.
It really does control frizz too, which is saying something, considering I live in Florida!!
This probably wouldn’t be good for fine haired curly girls, but for those of us with thin hair, this gel is definitely worth the try!! 🙂

Two dollars, worth a try! The curl power faded through the day and I was left with a semi hard mess of wavy instead of curly hair. It looked good in the morning, but not so much at the end of the day. I do like the “Freeze Shine” from Bella better than this, weird smelling, but great hold and shine.
