This should be called instant frizz, because that’s what happened to my hair. I have 3a/b very fine, curly hair and just want curl definition and hold from my hair gel.
I applied it to my wet hair, raking it through, and blotted with a t-shirt, and it did nothing. It looked like I had used no product in my hair at all. My hair was just fluffy and wild.
I returned it.

I use this to get my son’s faux hawk to stay up. Works pretty good, and is way cheaper than BSH Hard Up!

I <3 this gel. I got it because it's "curly-girl" status & it is a little crunchy but that's gel. If you don't like crunch then use curl cream? SOTC w this gel provides curl definition & mega shine. This is only $3 + some change & smells good too. All good points to consider when selecting a gel & easily available I got mine at Kroger. #winning

This product got a 3/5 on naturallycurly.com but i thought i would give it a try despite the so/so ratings for wavy/curly hair.
I tried it a few different ways:
1. On dry hair for definition: works okay, but dries crunchy and stiff with a high shine. I def. used too much, but it did help with frizz somewhat.
It works great as hair setting gel (sparingly) and for adding shape to flyaway, fluffy bangs and ends.
2. Emulsified (about three quarter size dollops) and run through sopping wet hair: this method was recommended by a reviewer in order to prevent the gel from drying hard or “crunchy”. It felt strange, and “soapy” when my hair was wet, but it dried soft and shiny once scrunched out with a towel and dried halfway with a diffuser. This definitely brought curl to my wavy hair– in some places it dried into an almost “kinky” wave pattern, which didn’t match the other bits. There was no stickiness whatsoever.
3) On damp hair: two qaurter sized dollops worked through towel dried hair and air dried. This was just ok, did not look overly shiny or greasy but made my hair dry a little puffy and stringy at the same time. The frizz control was not great.
I didn’t really like the feel of this gel. It’s very thick, which i thought would translate to better hold for curls but that’s not the case. I also dislike the dated high shine finish when used on dry hair.
