   Well I came across Shu Uemura at a new salon i was trying. I’ve always heard good stuff about this salon, so i guess i bought shu uemura because “they knew what they were doing/recomending”.

   So i cant say bad about this product, i have really weird wavy-ish hair and this stuff helps my hair to stay in place. I looks like my hair isn’t damaged (it really is), and it doesn’t look “frissy” and uncontrolled. It’s a good oil.

   Don’t get me wrong – this is a really good product, but it’s really expensive, maybe a little bit to expensive comparing to what it does. If this costs around 37-40 euro, i could get a oil as good as it for 33 euro.

   I bought this thinking it was a leave in conditioner, but it appears to be a styling product. I bought it after using it at the salon (my salon makes you pay for a blow out after color, so I blow my hair out myself). I bought a bunch of stuff, and was horrified that I bought a hair product that cost $45. If I didn’t live far from the salon, I would have returned it. So I have only used it a couple of times, but realized that if I don’t use it, it will go bad, and I certainly don’t want that to happen. The first time I used it as a styling product, I think I had beginner’s luck. My hair looked good enough that I could have foregone the flat iron. However, thereafter, I have found this styling cream to be completely ordinary. Other than enjoying the fragrance (a heavenly floral) I can’t think of a lot of positive aspects of this product. It has a removal cap, which is clumsy. Too much makes my hair a greasy mess. It doesn’t speed up drying time, or make my hair more manageable. Definitely not worth the high pricetag.

   This is such a lovely, lovely product. My hair is medium textured, weirdly wavy and extremely copious. I’ve struggled with it for years, trying to tame it and make it look nice. I did the CG thing for years, but while I could achieve nice waves and curls, it was always a crap shoot how my actual style would turn out. Blowing it out took for-ev-er. Then I discovered keratin treatments and frankly, I’ve never looked back. But despite the keratin, I’ve never been able to achieve that lovely, shiny, smooth texture that I wanted. I’ve tried all manner of leave-ins, oils, creams, etc. Then I read about this product (I think on RZ’s website) and despite its ridiculous price, I went ahead and ordered it.
   At first I was not wowed. My hair at the time was past bra-strap length with blunt bangs and I was wearing it blown out smooth (thanks to Global Keratin, it only took me like 8 minutes, even with all that hair). The ends were looking a bit scraggly so I got crazy and chopped off 8 inches to a long bob and grew out my bangs, but the effect was kinda mumsy (I’m 43. I avoid mumsy like the plague.) So I started using my flat iron to curl it, giving it a wavy, bed-heady texture. I use a leave-in (AG Fast Food), a heat protectant (Drybar) and this styling cream. The result is beautiful, smooth, glossy hair that isn’t weighed down (though I do assume that using too much would result in lank tresses). When I style it straight is is smooth,silky and incredibly glossy and shiny.
   The smell is a lovely, light floral which dissipates quickly. I find my waves look so much better when I use this during my blowout. They don’t get frizzy 2nd day and I just touch up places that have gotten wonky here and there with the flat iron. On my collar bone length hair I only use about the size of a chick pea, maybe even a little less. I haven’t noticed any excessive build up. Despite it’s astronomical price, I would definitely repurchase. I took one lippie off packaging because it has a screw-off cap which is a little cumbersome. A pump would be so much better.
