I wouldnt buy again but because the shine wasn’t that good. It was better at giving dry hair moisture than shine. A better comparable item would be loreals dry oil. It’s a yellow bottle.

I was intrigued by this products beautiful bottle and it’s promises to cut drying time.
Unfortunately there was no tester available in store, I asked the staff and they said they couldn’t for this product? Red flag there. Should have known better, I wouldn’t had purchased it otherwise.. I did not like the smell after purchase at all.. to me it smelt musky, like a mix of bad musk perfume and mothballs. :-/
If You are considering purchasing this product, DO NOT unless the salon can provide a sample to try out first. (Shouldn’t they do this anyway?)
It didn’t do much for my long wavy blonde hair, did not particularly notice any faster blowdrying time or shine. It actually felt quite drying, like alcohol in my hair. :-/ After a few months ended up emptying the bottle and purchasing cheaper and better stuff. I kept the pretty bottle though, hopefully can get my use out of it ..as it is VERY Pricey. :-/ Save Your money.

Do not waste your money on this crap. You are literally paying for about 3 ingredients that are dirt cheap & ineffective: silicone, perfume, and rubbing alcohol. I’m not kidding – those are literally the ingredients this consists of. :\ Check the packaging if you don’t want to take my word for it. Ulta has the ingredient list listed as: Cyclopentasiloxane, Alcohol Denat., Parfum / Fragrance. At first I assumed an employee just got lazy. Unfortunately though, that’s the full list.
I’m okay with fragrance in my haircare as it’s often added to mask the natural scent of other ingredients. Sure, I wish I could avoid it altogether since it’s often drying. But that wouldn’t be a deal breaker if this had an otherwise decent ingredient list.
Rubbing alcohol (listed as alcohol denat here) is drying. I am very weary of using it in shampoos/conditioners, let alone anything that’s going to sit on my hair for extended periods of time. The reason redken adds it is because it helps give the “oil” that dry feel. Fatty alcohols are fine with me, as they actually add in moisture. But drying alcohols such as alcohol denat will definitely damage the hairs structure over time.
The silicone (listed as cyclopentasiloxane) is what gives this product it’s slip. I’m fine with silicones! But to describe it as a “diamond oil” is outright dishonest of Redken. There isn’t even a single type of oil in this product.
I like Redken but this product is a dud and needs to go back to the drawing board. There are plenty of dry oils on the market that preform much better, contain beneficial ingredients, and cost a fraction of the price.
