I have fine, soft hair that I recently had permed into big curls. This mousse turned my soft hair into a gummy, sticky mess. I was careful to not use too much, but that didn’t seem to help. Yuk.

Update: This does build up in a hurry and so makes my hair feel dirty. Some days that’s okay and some days I hate that feeling. It is not my go to product and is gathering dust now. I tend to gravitate more to the moroccanoil mousse or knock-off one n only argan mousse and gel. Also once again trying the Miss Jessie’s pillow soft curl but that still is too soft unless I mix that with a mousse.
Me– 2A hair with fine and wimpy waves. New to wearing my hair wavy. This leaves me with tons of volume and lots of waves. I do not usually heat style my hair with a diffuser because that often takes the waves out of my hair so I air dry and scrunch and this leaves only a little product feel behind. For my hair type that is what I am looking for. Waves stay in and behave. If I want a little more definition I use the Redken curvaceous spray where I want more wave action.
I’m surprised this works. At Beauty Brands one SA said to buy this and the checkout person said there were better products with a sniff and I almost put it back. But they have a 60 day money back so I went ahead and bought it.
I can see those with more hair and denser curls would not like this because it doesn’t give that slippy feel cone feel and does not slick the hair cuticle down. Instead it amps it up, It does contain castor oil so I expect it would build up but I can’t seem to go more than one day without washing my hair anyway.

I’ve bought Redken products for years, so when I saw this mousse I thought I’d give it a try. It’s awful! It left my thick, naturally curly hair feeling sticky and gummy to the touch. It was so bad I had to re-wash my hair all over again, I’ve never had to do that! The smell was nice, the price was average for a Redken product (meaning higher end). I thought about returning it but I’ll give it to my husband and let him use it up. I love Redken products, but I’ll be very wary of their mousses from now on…
