Always on the hunt for a product that doesn’t make my waves crunchy and this mousse definitely has a very soft hold and feel to it. The texture of the mouse is very silky. It’s shiny and light but not full of air, if that makes any sense. I like the feel of this mousse very much and it helps keep frizz at bay but there isn’t much in the way of hold for heavy thick hair like mine. I do get compliments on my beach waves, guess I’m blessed that these are natural but I’d like a bit more definition and this product doesn’t really do that for me. All in all a nice mousse, not heavy at all, and touchable soft hair which is always a bonus. I think this would be a very curly-haired girl’s best friend.
I have used this mousse day after day (on damp hair, spritzing it between shampoos) and have not experienced any sort of buildup at all. I am fortunate to have normal hair that can go about 5 days between washing (not using dry shampoo either) before it begins to look dirty/oily. The feel of this mousse is luxurious and I will continue to use it when I want to keep my curls/waves soft and loose.

Not impressed. This doesn’t work any different than the Volume Triple Action Mousse. I have very full hair but my curls didn’t hold and I have that matte look.

****************The picture with the tall, skinny can is the new, reformulated version which is amazing. (They didn’t change the name; although, the wider can had the words “CURLY HAIR STYLE” on the can, where the new one doesn’t. They really should have changed the name, though, because the formulation is SO much better, and because I thought it was the same product, I almost didn’t try it. So I know others may pass it by, like I almost did.)****************
PROS: It’s pretty inexpensive. Defined and voluminous curls but NOT stiff or crunchy at all. And doesn’t weigh my fine hair down. AND doesn’t dry my very dry ends out at all (no added flyaways). Happielujah!!
CONS: Has a fainter version of the Pantene scent, which I’m normally not a fan of. But iit is milder, and it doesn’t bother my usually sensitive nose. It also can flatten my weak curls a little bit.
ALTERNATES: I have one that I love almost as much as this one. It’s Suave Captivating Curls Mousse with the green lid. It is SLIGHTLY more defining than this one but doesn’t give me QUITE as much body. And I “Carol’s Daughter Hair Milk Defining Foam to scrunch my ends with (see application tips). I get defined but NOT crunchy curls. (But the Carol’s Daughter, without this, doesn’t give me as much body or definition. And this alone doesn’t give me enough definition or quite as beautiful curl activating.)
APPLICATION TIPS: I rinse the cap out each time, after I”ve used it, to prevent clogging, just in case. I’m sure everyone needs to find their own sweet spot with this type of product. But I apply this to my roots and a bit on my “mids.” I then use the Carol’s Daughter product mentioned above on my ends. (AND see “alternates” above.)

This styling product does not work very well. My curls are slightly more defined and they are definitely less frizzy. The downside to this curl mousse is that it doesn’t fully get mixed into your hair and can leave white looking chunks in your hair.

Before you have to read this and go through the details, I’ll tell you right now what I think about this product: I like it.
Now, I have very frizzy hair. It’s very frizzy and curly. I have medium curls, they’re not tight. So when I use this product, (and I use a good amount-4-5 golf balls) my hair looks fantastic. My curls are defined, and frizz is eliminated! It looks like a professional did it! I get compliments all the time. Sometimes, I get asked, “Is that natural?Cause it’s so pretty!” My curls are defined, and frizz free. But keep in mind that my hair is already curly, just frizzy.
How does my hair feel? Well, as it dries, it feels the teeny weeniest micro smallest hard. But when my hair completely dries (I let my hair air-dry, it’s better if you want more defined curls) it’s soft, and flexible, and has natural movement.
And the smell? It’s great! It smells so nice! I I don’t know what else to say to that besides, yeah, I get compliments about that too. My friends would randomly comment on how good my hair smells. 🙂
I would buy this product again.

This is my daily product, i have very naturally curly hair! I love this stuff it works so well stops any sign of frizz and it doesn’t look like i’m wearing product! best low budget moose on the shelves for all year use as i use it up within 1/2 weeks expensive moose or styling products would cost a fortune and this does the job nicely!!!

This product left me with frizzy curls instead of defined ones. I don’t like this product, BUT it is silicone free which is great. I only use this product when I know I’m not going out. On the positive, my hair does not get oily and it leaves it feeling light and airy. As long as I don’t look in the mirror too often, it’s fine. =)

I have naturally curly/fine hair and I love this mousse. I comb my hair after getting out of the shower, then run a quarter sized glob of mousse through my hair, comb it again, and then let it air dry. It makes my curls soft and non-frizzy. They are awesome! I do admit, sometimes I accidentally put too much in and then it WILL make your hair crunchy. Just use in moderation! I think people complaining of a crunch just use too much product in their hair. I have bought this for a few years now and it never disappoints.

This product is really…lame? When i use it it..somewhat gives me definition, my hair got frizzy and it was crunchy. Definitely will not repurchase. Total waste of a product.

I used this when I had a perm and it was great for holding the curl. It was better than the other mousses I tried. The next day I would reactive with Tressemme curl reactivator. I would repurchase this if I ever got a perm again.
