So far, I really love the results I achieve with this flat iron spray. There is definitely a learning curve with it as it sprays a lot of product. Due to the pressurized can it’s very difficult to control the amount and direction of the product being sprayed; areas of the sections of hair tend to become more saturated than others so I have to either pull or comb the product through the section before flat ironing it.
It does leave the hair shiny, smooth, and it provides really fantastic hold. It drastically smoothes flyaways and frizz. When I use this spray I never get any crispy or frizzy ends and it doesn’t make my hair hard.
I do notice that my hair becomes a little sticky or gummy the day after styling, and by the third I definitely have to wash my hair (this isn’t a big deal bc I usually only wash my hair every 3 days anyway, depending).
I will warn that you need to careful about storing this can. It fell over in my cabinet and when I reached for it I noticed that it was leaking at the top underneath the spray nozzle. I wiped it up, cleaned out the product from the cap and haven’t had any problems since being more cautious and making sure it’s always standing upright.
You do also need to make sure the nozzle is clean before using as it can gunk up and cause the nozzle to spray unevenly or shoot out in one stream.
This spray’s scent is light and smells exactly like all the Alterna Caviar products, but perhaps a little more hairspray-like. If you’ve used any of the Alterna Caviar products you know exactly what to expect with the scent. It’s not a bad scent, it’s just different. It’s a little floral and a little herbal and if you’re new to this line the scent can take some getting used to.
This spray performs a lot better than other sprays I’ve tried in recent memory and because of this I definitely recommend it and will purchase it again.

This is such an interesting product, sort of like a hairspray and heat protector in one.
By the time I am done styling my hair, I don’t even need to use a setting spray, because my locks are pretty much perfect! Little goes a long way, so do use this product sparingly. My curls stay in place incredibly well and I love using it for special events, when I want my hair style to last all night.

I have naturally blondish curly hair which I straighten every two days to keep straight and frizz-free. I use a GHD-straightener which I believe is the best one on the market and alterna’s caviar straight iron spray which makes the process simple and gives shiny, healthy-looking hair! And the best part- my hair is feeling solid and and strong though I straighten it at least three times a week! The only down-side is that it is really expensive – but it is at the same time a fairly cheap safety insurance for us people who are addicted to using hot tools!

I received a travel size of this product in a subscription service and overall enjoyed it. I found the spray on my bottle did not distribute the product as evenly as I would have liked and I resorted to spraying several times into my hand and distributing manually. I also felt that being in a spray form made it last a shorter time than other similar products I have used. The smell was really nice and it was easy to apply. I did not notice too much of a difference using this, however, and felt that there are better products on the market.
Overall, it was fine and I used the entire bottle, but would not repurchase. It didn’t “wow” me.

Compared to drugstore sprays this is very convenient. It sprays light and even. It smells ok. It helps straighten just a little, but I do think that hair is protected. My hair feels a bit siliconey now but I don’t think it’s from this product, but from a mask I used beforehand. I can’t tell yet if my hair is breaking less, I only used it once. I had the dye scrubbed off in May so it’s very damaged and I’m trying to save it from breakage. I won’t dye it ever again and will continue using this spray to see if it helps. Want to get healthy hair while still using heat. It looks luxurious by the way. A little expensive but at least you get what you pay for! Nothing is worse than a spray that squirts like a plant spray.

Oh my gosh!!! Had to write this initial review, sprayed liberally on both dry hair before flatironing and on wet hair before blowdying..One word to describe this product SUPER…”DID NOT WEIGH DOWN MY FINE HAIR” Smells almost like D&G light blue, was really missing my other Alterna Caviar Styling Spray which was d/c. Ever since been looking for a replacement and this is it. Unfortunately tried other products never satisfied and only spending more $$$. Only downside is the price, but can bought at beauty supply stores with a coupon. This is a spray and not a mist, even if you overdo its no issue since it does not weigh down the hair and that is a big plus. My hair absorbed this like a sponge, made my hair soft and shiny.

This spray is incredibly expensive at 28 bucks, but I think it’s worth it since it last three months or so. Its a good investment for anyone who is trying to keep their hair from breaking. I’m doing everything possible to grow my hair and keep it in healthy shape. I have long hair and try to trim as little length as possible. This spray has really limited the amount of hair that breaks off. It works amazing and I highly recommend. Downsides are price and it’s ony a heat protectant, it doesn’t do anything else and I like multi-purpose products.
