Even though it appears this product has been discontinued, I like to leave reviews for these in case a product re-released, or turns up at discount stores. It appears Bliss got out of the makeup realm entirely. I had a major love/hate with this foundation stick. I am not usually a fan of stick foundations, but I do love the portability of them and I grew to be okay with this one. I was at Kohl’s one day and had some Kohl’s Cash to use up. I needed a new foundation and love to try different ones. My two biggest gripes here that land this in the 3/5 category are the fact it very easily oxidizes and it takes a very long time to dry down, usually for several hours it feels like it is just sitting on top of my skin. I went with the Ivory shade, which is for neutral skin tones. The finish really feels like a true medium, which I appreciate. When applied in small sections lightly, it looked very beautiful on my skin – not heavy but a very decent, pretty coverage.
I have a bad habit of wanting to put enough foundation to cover my face on at once, and that is a really bad idea as I usually end up with way more product on my face than I need! This is definitely a less is more thing, especially since it does not sink in for a long time. Another thing worth mentioning is that this product left me shiny, which is ironic since it boasts a “mattifying core.” I would usually do a very light dusting of loose power on my t zone and it would reduce some of the shine without disturbing the foundation, but anything more than that and it would turn cakey fast. I also used this as undereye concealer and found it did a nice job. In my experience this product was best used when I applied with my fingertips. I did run into some issues with incompatible moisturizing products, and there seemed to be no rhyme or reason as to the ingredients causing incompatibility.
This product is no longer offered but even if it was, I would not repurchase. I know there are lots of other products out there to try. I really loved the initial shade match to my skin and the finish throughout the day. I would have loved this product much more and might rebuy if it did not oxidize – it seemed like about half the time it would oxidize and the other half not.
