I’ve been using this lotion for most of the year (2010). I’ve tried a few “mattifying” moisturisers for oily skin and this is the best so far.
1. I love the smell, it’s fresh and clean and isn’t strong.
2. During the summer this has plenty of moisture for my skin. I find it sinks in quickly, doesn’t feel sticky, and it doesn’t feel like I have a film on my face. Just to add: it doesn’t pill when applying primers or fdtns on top – I’ve found this with some others I’ve tried.
3. I think it helps control my oil a bit. It doesn’t stop it, but it definitely doesn’t contribute to it at all (which I’ve found other “oil control” or moisturisers for “oily skin” still do.
4. The packaging is great. It’s in a sturdy glass bottle with a small pump on top. One to two pumps is plenty for my face. While the bottle is coloured, you can still see how much product you have left.
5. While it is a bit pricey, it will last a long time. After trying half a dozen DS lotions, I’ve made a good investment in this one!
I still wear a mattifying primer over this. I’ve forgotten once or twice, and the finish isn’t nearly as good (smooth, oil free).
I will be repurchasing this one if I don’t find something else that is supposed to be better!

I used this for 6 weeks as a last resort after trying several products for oily skin. This did not work, there was no improvement at all. The salesperson told me to use this product and then the foundation would stay on longer. It didn’t work. Within 1 hour at work, I had to start using the oil blotting sheets. I was able to return all items back to the store and switched the Mineral Make-up while using the Proactive products.
