TLDR: Holy MOLY this stuff worked wonders for my poor sensitive, dry winter skin. No bad things to say! 10/10 would recommend.
Context: My skin is dry, VERY dry during the winter, to the point where makeup will go on patchy and accentuate the appearance of scaly flakes on my cheeks and chin especially.
BUT my skin is also sensitive to breakouts and irritation. So what happens, I tend to slather up hydrating creams to compensate the dryness, then pay the penalty with clogged pores and breakouts when that gorgeously rich face cream proves to be too heavy.
Enter this stuff. A friend who swears by it gave me a decent sized dropper bottle on the fly and I was skeptical for the aforementioned reasons. I tested it on my hands for a few days and liked that it’s a nice dry oil that absorbs quickly and doesn’t leave much greasy residue behind.
No irritation ensued so I decided to try it on my face: 3-5 drops at night under my moisturizing cream did my face and neck. About 3 drops in the morning under the same moisturizing cream for day time. The difference is insane! My skin looks smooth, not nearly as dry looking as it was yesterday. The fine lines on my forehead and bracketing my lips are noticeably softer. My makeup went on smoothly and didn’t catch any flakes; it looks like I used a primer but I didn’t. My face also doesn’t look shiny or greasy. It looks healthy and plump.
I’ll update if this breaks me out but I read that it’s good for people with acne so hopefully that won’t happen. This stuff is a game changer and I absolutely love it so far. Will definitely repurchase and would recommend it to anyone with dry sensitive skin who needs a good boost of hydration 🤘

I love this stuff. I get it from Acure Organics but I imagine any quality brand would be fine. I use it at night as a moisturizer it’s not too oily and absorbs into the skin nicely. My skin looks clearer, brighter and healthier when I use it. I didn’t take it with me on a trip once and I could definitely tell the difference without it. When I started using it consistently again my skin just looked so much better.

One of my favourite oils to use on the face. There’s a reason it’s raved about so darn much!!
*MY SKIN*: Extremely reactive hormonal acne on the jawline, currently suffering PIE. Dry skin on the jawline. Slightly oily T-zone.
First of all it’s a dry oil…so it’ll sink in faster than an average oil, BUT KEEP IN MIND this is NOT ENOUGH if you have super dry skin!
Second of all it’s HIGH in linoleic acid: over 55-60%+ and low in oleic acid: 15-20%. It’s rich in Essential Fatty acids (EFAs), especially Omega 3 and Omega 6, and a powerful antioxidant.
Here’s a pros & cons list of the oil!
PROS:
– Great for all acne, eczema, itchiness, redness
– Anti-aging & strong anti-oxidant
– Strongest Vitamin A oil: helps reduce pigmentation & strengthen skin’s natural protective barrier
– Protects & revives skin harmed by pollution & urban environments
– High in linoleic acid
– Gives a glow to the skin
– Works well with acids & retinols
– Able to easily get any variation in the market
CONS:
– Need to use for a long period of time to see anti-aging results
– Vitamin A does NOT EQUAL RETINOL
– Can stain clothes/skin until removed
– Not enough for dry skin (follow up or mix with non-dry oil)
– Has a natural strong earthy, fishy smell.
I didn’t like the Ordinary’s Rosehip seed oil. It felt very greasy compared to other rosehip oils I’ve tried & didn’t sink into my skin. I recommend Trilogy or Pai. Actually ANY Rosehip seed or fruit oil is great as long as it’s:
– Organic
– Cold-pressed
– BEST: Co2 super-critical extraction for the PUREST quality rosehip oil.

I bought some rosehip seed oil from The Ordinary after watching a YouTube video about how this woman has had success with healing her hormonal acne with the oil.. Honestly, I really like it. I’m always leery about putting oil on my face because I have an issue with oil on my face, but I really like this because it keeps my skin feeling and looking hydrated and it sinks into my skin fairly fast! It doesn’t leave my skin feeling oily or greasy. I don’t know if it’s helping my acne, but it’s certainly not making it worse and as I just said, it leave my skin looking great. I will definitely keep using this in my PM routine, I love it!

This oil has helped me a lot with acne (hormonal cystic acne) and scars. Alongside with tamanu oil are the best treatment any skin needs. Great for acne, healing new and old scars, moisturise, prevents ageing signs, corrects skin tone and gives skin nutrients that only this oil (and tamanu) has the ability to penetrate to deeper layers of skin. It just takes a little time to see the results. After 6 months of systematic night use,my dermatologist thought i had fractional lazer. Great for eyelashes and lips.

One of THE BEST anti-ageing products you can use. Take this from someone who has tried almost every anti-ageing product in existence! Also be aware: the darker the color (orange or red), the better the efficacy of the Rosehip oil which = better results. Some years back, before switching to the anti-ageing serum I currently use – which combines Rosehip Seed Oil plus other beneficial oils, I would purchase a small bottle of 100% organic cold-pressed pure Rosehip seed oil from an organic store in my neighborhood and then decant into an amber glass jar with a dropper neck. That way you keep the oil safe from sunlight which would turn it rancid in next to no time!
The best thing about it is you only use 1-2 drops of this each night as it’s concentrated and doesn’t require lots to be used in order for it to be effective. For drier skin types a moisturizer can be applied just a couple of minutes after as one of the best things about it is how fast the oil sinks into your skin. Like Jojoba it doesn’t sit on the surface for long, it’s quite a ‘dry’ oil.
As a natural anti-ageing product it is amongst the best out there imo. Fine lines, dark spots, you name it, Rosehip seed oil if given enough time will do wonders for your skin, especially when it comes combined with other regenerative oils and botanicals. Just be sure to purchase an organic brand that’s also cold-pressed as your skin will thank you for this.
BUT as mentioned in my previous review there are a couple of things I’d like to point out for those who are not aware (to save retyping it all I’m copying and pasting the below from my previous review)…
Firstly, you need to use sun protection during the day if you use RHO on a night. This is because it contains a high content of polyunsaturated fatty acids which can easily oxidize, although that doesn’t mean the oil is phototoxic (it isn’t). More importantly it is naturally very high in Vitamin A (which is what Retinol is derived from) and you wouldn’t skip SPF if using Retinol right? Same thing applies here.
Secondly, I don’t really believe RHO should be used during the daytime at all, the same way you wouldn’t use a retinol product during the day. For daytime simply stick to a good SPF, preferably over a moisturizer or serum rich in antioxidants – Vitamin C, E, Ferulic Acid, Green Tea, Lycopene, Niacinamide etc, all of which serve an actual function – to help counteract UV and environmental damage throughout the day. RHO just won’t do that!
Rosehip Oil is definitely one of the most effective natural carrier oils one could apply to their skin, but as with everything, there are things to be aware of and to take into consideration before you do.

This has made my skin feel noticeably softer and more supple. It’s too rich for my face to handle, but I use it as a treatment on my hands overnight (2 drops per hand), followed by a cream to seal it in (La Roche-Posay Lipikar Baume AP+). This combination has done much more for my skin than any ‘fancy’ hand creams I’ve tried in the past. Rosehip oil is rich in antioxidants and fatty acids to keep skin moisturized and protected. I’ve read it can also be anti-inflammatory.
I like to purchase my rosehip oil from Deciem (The Ordinary). It’s not the only organic and cold-pressed product available, but as the brand is so popular, I can be assured that I’m getting fresh oil with its skin-beneficial components at full strength.
SCENT: I have read that the unrefined oil can smell fishy to some, but I am very sensitive to fishy odors and it doesn’t smell anything like fish IMO. To me, it smells more like underripe fruit – a pleasant green scent less sharp than grass and ever so slightly tart.
A definite repurchase for keeping my hands looking and feeling great!

The now foods rosehip oil is Super cheap compared to other brands . Unsure what are the differences but it does smell the same to me . I love the scent . On my skin , it does not do much wonders . But i think it’s a good and cheap nutritional carrier oil to have .

I read rosehip oil is the one oil to try if every other oil breaks you out. Well guess what? Wrong! I still broke out and after just one night! It was only one spot but that’s enough for me. I’m not sure if it’s this brand or the specific oil itself but I’d love to find an oil that’s hydrating without breakouts. If anyone out there has any suggestions I’d love to hear them!

Such a great product, I am yet to be disappointed with Now’s oils.
This oil is light, refreshing and easily absorbed, because it’s full of omega 3, 6 & 9s it has a rich nutty scent, I personally find it comparable to flax seed. I have to agree the packaging is a bit of a pain, the stopper on this sucks and you have to give the bottle a few pretty good shakes to get any oil out. I much prefer bottles with a dropper applicator, it’s so much more convenient and you can control the product better. I use this both morning and night after cleansing, It applies beautifully to damp skin so I give my face and neck a good mist of Heritage Store’s Rosewater spray and then gently tap the oil into my skin as needed. The rosewater/rosehip mix gives you such a pretty, dewy glow your skin looks so healthy and radiant I love it!
pacifiedBittern8
This was the first rosehip seed oil I purchased. While it absorbed easily and helped moisturize my dehydrated-normal skin, I’ve since realized its low price also reflected its low quality.
I’m currently using Garden of Wisdom’s, and before that I used Nuriva’s. Both were amber-colored and had a scent, while Now Foods was a clear odorless liquid. While Now Foods is less expensive, I need less of GoW’s to feel properly moisturized so I consider the price to be about the same. Now Foods also advertises this as “100% pure and natural” and interestingly enough neither of those words are regulated. There’s also no indication of how this was extracted.
As other reviewers have also mentioned, there is an inconvenient and low-functioning stopper on the bottle. Due to difficulty using it, I removed it. Instead I inverted the bottle with my finger over the opening to use.
Overall, while I do think there are better quality rosehip seed oils than this, this did get the job done. I personally don’t plan on repurchasing though.

This has become my HG face treatment. My skin has become much smoother and softer using it every night. My pores look smaller and don’t seem to clog as much as they used to. the fine lines around my eyes are diminished and the biggest thing I noticed is my rosacea is tamed with this. My under eye area gets so dry and red and this calms it right down.
It resurfaces and renews cells, working better than any night treatment you will find in a jar. Not kidding with that either. This runs $6 compared to high end jars of cream that don’t do nearly as well as this. I wish i had found this sooner. Oh and I noticed any hormonal acne I get is drastically reduced.
somberIguana9
I wanted something that would give me the resurfacing/glowing effects of my “dirty” night cream but that had better ingredients. This was less than $6 so I decided to give it a try. It did make my skin brighter but if I use it too many days in a row I will break out.
I’ve moved on to other face oils but I still use this every night on my neck, chest & hands. I have definitely seen an improvement in skin tone & texture in those areas
Oh & the packaging sucks. You have to shake the bottle like crazy to get anything out. A dropper would’ve been a much better idea. Unfortunately I don’t have any spare droppers lying around so I just took the thingy out & now I try not to pour too much out

This oil, along with my Sea Buckthorn oil, has transformed my face. My severe and dark acne spots have faded tremendously. My pores are a whole lot smaller. My skin is glowing, which I have NEVER had. The fine lines around my eyes and mouth are fading. Skin feels plumper, brighter, a lot more even. I just absolutely adore this oil. Beware, it is quite thick, so only 3-4 drops are more than enough for the whole face. Also, make sure to apply onto damp skin. This is a “dry” oil and soaks in beautifully when tapped onto slightly wet skin. This oil has SO much vitamin E; it’s incredibly nourishing, non-irritating and does not cause extra oil on the skin. It’s helped stabilize my oily/combo skin.
SO WORTH every penny!

I’ve tried all of the oils from The Ordinary. I’m not a fan of oils, but jumped on the hype train sometime around the middle of last year.
PROS: Again, I hate oils, BUT this one gives the fastest and best results so far of the ones I’ve tried. My skin looks less red. It really does nothing too specific that I can point out, it just seems to make my skin look more rested and calm. I hate to say it, but my skin has been younger looking, in a totally cliché sense, when I use this at night.
CONS: AND now why I’m not a fan of oils. They’re oily, they don’t spread easily, they take forever to absorb into my skin (up to several hours!?), they are easy to go HAM on and overapply… they’re just cosmetically inelegant IMO. And this is the worst offender of the ones from The Ordinary. The other oils had some more movement to them or natural slip… but not this one! It feel just thicker and more dense and resilient, it just does really want to spread. I would have thought the Argan Oil would be richer or more heavy feeling because it’s for dry skin, this is taking it’s place! I feel like unless you have quite a wet face, applying this requires you rough up your skin. Not only that but simply putting it into my fridge too also caused it to like massively crust up on the edges and temporarily take on a bizarre texture.
OVERALL: I do not want to use this. Seriously, this is the worst oil in terms of texture and I feel like I’m in minority here because nobody ever brings stuff like this up. However, it gets me results for sure and I feel tempted to repurchase it only for my night routine or to mix with a moisturizer. It really works. I’ll use it but not really like the process.

I got some Aura Cacia Rosehip oil on clearance at the grocery store. I use it at night after cleansing, and before my Pond’s Rejuveness cream, sometimes alone, if I am lazy. It’s made my skin so soft and smooth! I think it is also helping with my forehead wrinkles and crows’ feet. It’s helping combat my dry flakey winter skin for sure. The only problem is that it is very pricey, and hard to find, now that the grocery store has discontinued it…

My experience with rosehip oil is through The Ordinary’s 100% Cold-Pressed Organic Rosehip Seed Oil. And based off my experience, it is AMAZING. The first facial oil that I ever used on my face was Bio-Oil years and years ago, and that totally wrecked havoc on my face. Since then, I was afraid to try any oils on my face. After seeing the popularity of face oils grow and seeing tons of reviews on so many different face oils, I decided to cave in because *why not*… rosehip oil totally changed my mind.
I’m naturally acne prone in general and lately hormonal acne has been my battle (thanks for that, current birth control). Out of all the stuff I’ve tried in attempting to relieve the hormonal acne, rosehip oil has done the biggest job. Not only have I completely replaced my moisturiser for this oil (mainly at night… I don’t like using oils during the day if I’m wearing makeup on top), it has also reduced the amount of spots I’d normally get if I wasn’t using rosehip oil AND reduced the number of days it takes for my spots to heal. I also see a noticeable reduction in my hyperpigmentation. By all means, it hasn’t faded all of it but it has definitely reduced it. I know rosehip oil isn’t for everyone and I know it won’t work for some people, but give it a fair go if you’ve never tried t before and you’re curious! I think most skin types can enjoy this and it may possibly work well for you if you have acne and/or acne scarring!
lovesickAntelope2
I just started using this after I heard Miranda Kerr talking about it. I used to use Vitamin E oil at night to even out my skin tone, but this does an even better job without leaving my skin sticky. I just put on a few drops before I go to bed and wake up to glowing skin. I only paid $4 for an ounce too, so it’s much cheaper than other serums out there.
somberMagpie3
I’ve previously tried the rosehip oil from Trilogy, but as it’s rather pricey I wanted to try this oil from another brand.
I picked Now Foods as I’ve tried other products from them, and I have to say that I’m not disappointed at all.
First of all, the price is just…ridiculous. In a good way. It’s dirt cheap, and you get a ton of product for nothing at all (at least at iherb you do).
Second, the smell is much better than the Trilogy one. Trilogy smells a bit like frying oil, which is not very appealing to say the least. Now Foods smells…fresh-y and air-y. Lol. I can’t think of another way to describe it. It’s pleasant, let’s just say that.
Third (and most important), I haven’t noticed any differences from the Trilogy one as to what it’s doing to my skin – which is to moisturize the hell out of it. I’ve got dry and flakey skin, with oily tendencies, and without some kind of oil under my cream moisturizer I get flakey throughout the day. Plus, this oil gives me kind of a glowy and puff-y (in a good way) look.
The only downside to this compared to the Trilogy one is the packaging. Now Foods comes with a ”drop-counter” (I have no idea that it’s called) and you have to sort of shake the bottle to get more than a few drops out. The Trilogy one has got a ”drop-squeezer” which is much more practical.
To sum it up: luuuurve it!
