I have been using this for a couple months now and I love it! I’ve read that aloe vera can help reduce redness and help to calm the skin – this brand of aloe vera actually does! I have finally gotten rid of the really bad acne on my cheeks however I still have scarring and deep redness because of all the harsh products I was using at the time. Since having stopped using the harsh chemicals on my face, I started use this aloe vera nightly without a moisturizer and I can say that I’ve noticed a significant difference in the red dots/scarring. My skin has a glow and evenness to it and the redness is slowly disappearing right before my eyes! Very happy with this brand – price is affordable, it is all natural and chemical free too.

I love this stuff! So much better than anything you’ll find at the drugstore! It’s organic and has minimal, non-toxic preservatives. I trust that the therapeutic properties of the aloe are still active in this product. Surprisingly inexpensive too! The 16 ounce size is only a $1 more than the 8 ounce size- but I would recommend getting the 8 ounce size first because it comes packaged in an awesome pump bottle and then using the 16oz for refilling at a later time. I use this product twice a day all over my face and on my body in the evenings. It is water light and so soothing. Totally cleared up some tiny stubborn eczema patches that wouldn’t go away. This makes my skin glow. Typically I layer a cream or oil over top since this is not very moisturizing. I especially like using it after I wipe down my face with Mountain Rose’s chamomile hydrosol- my skin looks amazing!

I trust the quality of MountainRoseHerbs products. I reach for this aloe vera gel 2x a day sometimes more. I have really sensitive skin and this soothes it nicely. I use it as a buffer from my sunscreen between the skin on my neck + decollete (really really sensitive there) and splash it on my entire face (around eyes, on the lips…). It is not super moisturizing, but it gives my skin just a little extra. I like to mix it with my moisturizer during the day… and use it alone in the evening. I will even put some on a cotton pad and sweep it over my face to freshen up in the evening. The consistency is more like a juice than a gel. It has immediate tightening qualities on the skin. I also really like the calendula floral water from MRH to heal and balance my skin.

I never use this alone since it’s by no means a moisturiser. But it does soothe irritated skin pretty well. I use this together with jojoba oil and it makes my skin really hydrated, much better than commercial moisturisers! I love its watery texture free of unnecessary thickeners.

I have been using this gel as a moisturizer for almost a year now. It is light and soothing to my skin and does not cause clogged pores. I feel the aloe vera gel is high quality and does not contain many ingredients.

I use this as a daily moisturiser for my face and sometimes upper arms. I use it alone, or sometimes mixed with glycerin.
I have used so called “pure aloe vera gel” before, from other brands, and after comparing the ingredients I was shocked to see how many fillers and other unnatural things were in my old brand (Holland & Barrett “99.9%”…full of thickeners and parabens – from England).
The MRH gel contains 99.7% pure organic Aloe Vera, and natural preservatives and stabilizers consisting of Potassium Sorbate, and Citric Acid at a percentage not to exceed 0.3%.
I bought the 8oz bottle first, as it comes with a pump dispenser. This gel is not really a gel, it is quite runny but absorbs fast. The pump dispenser definitely makes it easier and less messy to use than say, Aubrey Organics aloe vera (flip top cap spills and wastes a lot of product). I will be getting the 16oz size soon – it is on special offer until the end of June $4.31. I keep mine in the fridge, so it is extra refreshing when I use it.
This is the info about it from Mountain Rose Herbs website:
