   I’ve been using the Universal Emulsion for about a month now and really like it a lot. I was drawn by the idea of an all-in-one product, especially something that can be used as an eye and lip cream plus a makeup primer (that’s 3 separate products I can eliminate from my rotation). I was also convinced by British makeup artist Pip Woods who raved about this (Woods did the lovely makeup for BBC’s Fleabag).
   Universal Emulsion is unlike any other moisturizer I’ve used. It’s a creamy light texture but quite plumping, especially for my eye and lip area, and it’s an excellent primer. Bonus: my lipstick really stays on when I rub this in first. It also doesn’t irritate my eyes (an issue I’ve had with other eye creams). As their website recommends, use a “hazelnut sized” amount of cream (which is *not* a large amount), rub it between your hands, and then massage it thoroughly into your face and neck (I pat it around my eyes) until it feels “set”, which doesn’t take too long. Wait a few minutes before applying makeup.
   Because of its cost, I only use it on my eyes and mouth at night, and use a less expensive, slightly richer night cream in the evening (Lumene Valo Vitamin C Sleeping Cream). But next time I might spring for the large size as you get much more for your money. I gave Universal Emulsion 4 stars instead of 5 because it’s an excellent “workhorse” product, but doesn’t transform my skin. Just makes it look better, which might be enough at my age.

   this the best face cream i have ever used and i just love that it can be used on the eye area and lips. it’s very gentle, perfectly moisturizing, perfect for combination skin. the only thing i dont like is the packaging, it would’ve been much better in an air tight container. It’s quite pricey, but it really does last a long long time. i will repurchse after i finish my first 100ml tub.

   I was intrigued by the marketing and packaging of this brand, I bought the cleanser, vitamin c paste, BHA/AHA night switch and the universal emulsion. I like all the products except the emulsion – its SO greasy. Perhaps if your skin was wildly dry this could work, but on my it was the oiliest moisturizer Ive ever used (richer than La Mer or La Prairie) and I had several clogged pores and bumps after using for 2 days. I have to use the rest up on my body which is a shame.

   EDIT: Upgrade to five stars, the smell is completely unnoticeable to me now, those around me insisted it was pleasant to begin with, but this is the best moisturiser I’ve used, hands down. It’s a joy to use. Already ordered my back up of the entire range, my skin’s never looked better.

   The Lixir range is a new approach to skincare, so I tested everything thoroughly. I must say, it worked wonders for me. Specifically for the all-in-one moisturiser: I adore it (four stars rating is for the smell which I don’t like but am very willing to overlook for the many benefits of the product). It is very nourishing but also light. Works amazingly layered with anything and is great under makeup. Since I started using the products (the two cleansers being, honestly, stellar), I don’t use my beloved face masks anymore, since there is no need. My skin is consistently plump and radiant. I would hold the retinol serum until autumn, though. I use half the concentration at this time of year. Too much sun for a 1% concentration product, I think. The moisturiser, like everything else Lixir, is absolutely worth a try: if you like the smell, you will not go back to anything else.

   Lixir’s Universal Emulsion is a day moisturizer, night cream, and serum base in one product. It is meant for the face, eye contour, lips, neck, décolleté, arms, and hands. Additionally, the product claims to provide a small amount of UV protection.

   I purchased this product because I really like the idea of an ‘all-in-one’ moisturizer . I thought the product worked OK, but wasn’t a good fit for my skin as it started to break me out after a few weeks. It has a good consistency, and is meant to be warmed in the palm of your hands prior to application. I found that it needs to be half rubbed into your hands first in order to be fully absorbed when put on the face.

   This is a heavily scented product. While I don’t think synthetic fragrance has been added, it does smells like the combination of the ingredients in the product. My partner described this as a scent of a baby product, however, I disagree. It reminds me of a body product, but maybe something from a natural brand, which makes sense as there are a lot of essential oils and flower based ingredients in it. I personally dislike the smell, but I can see how others may find it nice.

   There are two sizes, and I purchased the smaller one (50mL, 1.7 oz). In the UK, it currently retails for £29. For a face product, I think there is quite a bit in it, and I was happy with the size and packaging (comes in a pink plastic tube with a small back cap).

   Because this started to cause my skin to break out and because of the scent, I won’t purchase this again. However, I do think it might work well for some people.
