Never thought I would give one star to a Vichy product, but I have to.
LIE: This cream’s name is Liftactive RETINOL Ha. The product does NOT have retinol. It has RETINYL PALMITATE. The products that actually have retinol in them have “retinol” written in the ingredients. Retinyl Palmitate is the ester of retinol combined with palmitic acid, not quite the same as retinol, the pure retinol in RP is usually like 0.01%. Now, it’s not necessarily a bad thing it doesn’t have retinol. Retinol works better than retinyl palmitate for wrinkles but also has more potential side effects. So it might even be better for some people it has retinyl palmitate instead of retinol, but it’s simply a lie to introduce this product as “Liftactive RETINOL” when the ingredient is retinyl palmitate.
OVERPRICED: Heavy majority of anti-aging eye creams out there have retinyl palmitate in the ingredients. Almost all anti-aging eye creams from Yves Rocher for example also have retinyl palmitate, plus a lot more different ingredients like more oils than this Vichy product has. Yet, they are cheaper, especially if you can catch them on discount. I’m not saying more ingredients the better, but at least when something has a lot of ingredients, you know you are paying for those ingredients. This Vichy product doesn’t even have any sunscreen**, not as many ingredients as the cheaper products from different brands. Definitely overpriced.
**One of the downsides of retinol and retimyl palmitate it can thin your skin and with that make it more vulnerable to the sun. So you might actually fasten aging when trying to slow it down. That’s why pretty much all dermatologists advice to not forget your sunscreen with retinol/retinyl. You can of course get a second product for sunscreen, but I personally get a bit disappointed when an anti-aging cream does not have sunscreen in it.
MY EXPERIENCE WITH THE PRODUCT: The texture is really thick. Definitely not something you can use under make-up. The pumper gives more cream than needed, too. The first time I used it, it caused no irritation. An hour later one of my eyes got watery, although I was very careful to not use it close to my eyes. The worst part, the texture is so thick, even 16 hours later my eyelids felt heavy. This is why I had to give it away after the second time I used it. It’s the third ever time I gave up on a product. To be fair, it made my undereye area got slightly brighter and definitely made it softer once it was dried. But the bad sides are more than its good side.

I absolutely LOVE this product! I don’t understand some of the reviews that state there is alcohol in the ingredients as the package to my bottle does not list this among the ingredients. This cream is smooth and spreads well, I have to admit that I don’t use the applicator but rather squirt a little on my ring finger and apply to the under eye area. A little goes a long way and I have notice much improvement with the fine lines under my eyes after using for only 3 weeks. Will definitely continue to purchase and use.

Fantastic product. Works wonders!! My little lines disappeared within a week or so, I am on my second bottle, really addicted to it!! I am not particularly mad about the packaging – I don’t really get it frankly, but hey! I usually apply this after a bit of Clinique’s Repairwear serum and it has made my skin super soft! Really good product, does exactly what is says, and I adore it!!

OMG, I just got a sample of this, applied on my eye area (it felt really nice at the begining but not moisturizing at all) and then started to study ingredients. It contains: ALCOHOL DENAT that is used for washing windows, as a cleaning aid to remove ink, stains, make drinks undrinkable, and basically, in skin care it may be used to dry acne prone skin.. so why to add this ingredient to eye cream – eyes are the most delicate, sensitive area.
After learning this, I’m rinsing off this cream and never using it again.

Doesn’t moistrise, left my eyes looking dry, crepey.
Doesn’t do anything for lines, but then I think none of them do and I’ve focused on moistrising at night and SPF during the day.
The spout/dispenser is a gimick.
Did nothing for lines, didn’t even moistrise, what’s the point of it?
Bought it on a 3 for 2 at Boots. 4 products from Vichy, 4 lots of wasted money, will be avoiding Vichy from now on.

Hmm. In my 30’s now, and been trying a number of eye products for the newly emerging lines under the eyes. It does seem to be working (the line under my eyes seems to be getting shorter? – -Nice! ) Also this one doesn’t sting or dry the skin under my eyes out.

I’m not impressed with this. sorry to bring the ratings down, but there is nothing I like about this product.
First of all, the texture is very thick and hard to spread – not good for the delicate eye area. I have to keep rubbing it and pulling on my eye area to get it to be anywhere near absorbing.
Second of all, it is NOT moisturizing. no wonder – it has alcohol in it!! it’s probably drying my eye area out more.
third, I have seen NO improvement in my fine lines and thin, weak crepey skin under my eyes. I used it daily for over a month, and there is NO change. in fact it is worse since prior to this product I was using something that actually DID work (MD Skincare by Dr Dennis Gross Hydra Pure eye cream). now I’m back to square one.
Fourth, I absolutely hate the packaging. it is this strange long pointy spout that you are supposed to use to massage it into your eye, but let me tell you it doesn’t work – it just smears the cream around, and it never absorbs. it also squirts out 3 times too much product each time I use it, so I waste a lot.
Fifth, if you look at the ingredients, they aren’t that great- the “active” ingredient of hyaluronic acid is below the paraben preservative! also, I don’t think it even uses retinol as it claims – it has retinyl palmitate which is a form of Vitamin A but itsn’t retinol – it isn’t as effective (correct me if I’m wrong.) also it has a lot of silicones and waxes which would prevent any good stuff from absorbing into the skin anyway. so, it’s pretty pointless. wish I had thought about the ingredients more before I used it.
all in all, I really dislike this.

When I first bought this product I didn’t think it was working so I went on to try other very expensive products and then came back to this. Within a week, I noticed that my dark circles are improving and so are the deep hollows on the sides of my eyes. Now the area looks more like a bruise that is fading and the skin is more plumped up. I am planning to continue using and hopefully, the darkness will improve even more.

I recently purchased this off of e-bay from a Canadian seller as it is not available in the US yet. I’m sure this product will catch on here. It has retinol and is extemely moisturizing with the Hylaronic acid (spelling?). The combination works. I put it on at night and by morning, my under eye tissue still feels moist. It is not greasy, but high moisture retension. The retinol helps to stregthen the delicate tissue. So far, this is the best eye cream and I have tried them all!
