I tried this because of the hype in the nail care community.
First thing first, I tried just the jojoba oil. Not the famous blend some people recommend for nail care. Many have testified the jojoba oil works wonders on its own. It did diddly squat for me. And yes I got high quality, unfortunately expensive stuff. The good thing was it soaks in real nice and fast, so I applied to nails and cuticles many times in a day, also tried it as hand treatment. For weeks. Nothing. Nada. Didn’t hurt, except it was so dry I couldn’t tell if it was soaking in fast or actually drying my skin out, but in any event, zero improvement of any kind. I was mostly hoping for better flexibility. Did nothing more than handcream on my cuticles too. My nails are healthy but exposed to frequent washing, cleaner, disinfectant, temperature changes, so they tend to break. Maybe they’re just not going to benefit from anything that would actually work on others. Calcium worked miracles, but can’t take it now due to a health condition.
I did try it as body moisturiser, once. Broke up in places I never broke out before, overnight. So won’t be trying that on my face, and I don’t want to put up with a “purge” considering my skin is really nice without it. If your skin likes it though I think it would be a great daily facial oil because it sinks in entirely and feels velvety, almost like dry oil but without the fake feeling.
Just, careful if you’re acne prone.
My guess is for nail care you really need to pair this with sticky vitamin e or another oil, otherwise it’s just oil like any other (actually doesn’t come close to sesame or coconut oil for nails and cuticles for me, it’s just less greasy).
Seems to work great for some people so try to get the smallest available size first if you want to try it. I don’t know what I’m going to do with mine. For nails, probably best to invest in a pen first time, then if it works, get the ingredients to refill it.

I bought jojoba oil from priceline under the brand name The Jojoba company (30ml $19.99). I have tried many kinds of oil that is worth $2.99 to $100, from drugstore to david jones. My skin easily gets congested by rosehip & primrose oil…
Package:
– glass bottle with a pump and a tip cover (awesome!)
How to use:
– I have learnt to mix oil with aloe vera gel and water mist/spray (Aesop does this) and the oil soaks into the skin with semi matt finish.
Result:
– calm, nourished, hydrated and clear skin
– it did not break me out yet (2weeks trial)
Con:
– use by dates.
I heard that jojoba rancid easily and rancid oil causes break out and inflammations, so do mot buy large sizes unless you can use it quickly.
Rate: 4.7 / 5
The reason for not giving it 5 is that jojoba oil by itself is not enough and i need other antioxidants to mix with my skincare routine. No cosmetics are perfect, i am still on my journey to find good cosmetics 🙂

I was really excited to try out this product but as soon as I put the product on my skin began to itch and rash up. To give a bit of background my skin is clear and normal to sensitive skin type and usually nothing breaks me out. However, after a few days my face had broken out in tiny little bumps (not a break out but an allergic reaction) and a few larger ones on the side of my face. Maybe this will work for others but it was not for me. For this product you will just need to try it out to see if it works for you.

Jojoba caused whiteheads all over my chin. This may be an initial purge, but just not worth it for me. Still looking for the right oil to combat my oily skin and will turn to one with a higher linoleic acid content next.

ITS AMAZING!
I use this for my hair and hyperpigmentation.
for hair: I mix a couple drops in with my leave in conditioner then after my hair is try I rub 2-3 drops in. be careful, although this oil is thin it can make your hair look oily fast!!
for spots/scars. I put a drop on a q-tip and dot in on the spots. don’t use too much or it will start to drip down

I’ve read some reviews stating that they warm up the oil. It’s supposed to be kept at room temperature and preferably in a dark place. Keeping it in a warm place will make it go “rancid” and not do anything for your skin. Check out the link above and if you can I would recommend listening to some of Nadine Artemis’ podcast. I hope this information helps towards reaching natural skin with proper skin care regimens.

Love this brand and their products so much. I wish they hot more love. Finally a great Aussie company with great trust worthy products. I love this oil. I have used other jojoba oils before and have consistently broken out from them. Annoyed and disheartened I heard oh the Jojoba Company and wanted so much to try it but I usually like to look at a product in store first. Finally found it in Priceline and bought it immediately. Absolutely love it. Since it is 100% natural jojoba and effectively sourced this oil doesn’t break me out. Love this Aussie company.

Damn, I didn’t know Jojoba oil was so good!
I started using it on my face as a moisturizer, because the Kiko Nutri Fusion serum I’m using alone was not moisturizing enough. I had no idea this would sink into the skin so well! Doesn’t leave an oily residue on the skin like other oils do. I have the feeling that my skin tone is more even, and I have less pimples, but maybe that could be due to hormones.
Anyway, in combination with my dermaroller, my skin tone has improved 100%. Didn’t know there were actually such things as miracle products. I use a 100% Jojoba oil by Dutch organic brand Naturapharma, by the way. A little bottle of 50 ml goes a superlong way, months. In love <3
Pro:
- cruelty free
- sinks into the skin very well, no residue
- very moisturizing
- fragrance free
- miracle worker! evens skin tone, less acne, radiant looking skin
Con:
- not a fancy decorative product on your vanity

a good moisturizer for sensitive dry skin

I bought some generic jojoba oil on Amazon and use it mixed with Nivea lotion as a body moisturizer and it works great, especially in the wintertime. In the summer it gives my skin a nice glow and in the winter it fights the flaky dry skin so prevalent with dry heated air. Jojoba oil is easily absorbed and it only takes a few minutes for it to disappear into my skin. I use it right after getting out of the shower and it’s great. I often mix in some perfume to enhance the fragrance. It’s inexpensive but effective. I mix one dropper full with three pumps of lotion for my chest and tummy and the same for my back. I do two pumps of lotion and one dropper for each leg. I do just one dropper for each leg, minus the lotion and one dropper for each foot. I get a two ounce bottle of the oil for $10 from Amazon and I order a bottle every month. I get the cold pressed organic oil, which is the best kind. It comes in a dark glass bottle so no light hits the oil and I keep it away from sunlight. It has no fragrance that I can detect. The oil is rich and contains wax esters, which makes like sebum so it’s easily absorbed and can be used on the scalp and hair as well (although I haven’t used it this way). I highly recommend using jojoba oil because it absorbs fast and leaves behind a lovely sheen that lasts for hours. You can use it as a pre-shampoo treatment on the ends for 30 minutes and then shampoo and condition as usual. You can also mix it into any mask. You can also use it in any hair color mixture for additional conditioning (I have actually done this numerous times). Use about two teaspoons and mix well throughout application because the oil tends to separate. This will not affect the outcome. When the color chemicals penetrate the hair shaft, the oil goes in too. At no other time is this possible. This provides fantastic conditioning and keeps hair nice and soft. My stylist taught me this trick and I’ve used it for years with great success (you can also use argan and marula oil for this). Jojoba oil is a great all around oil and it has loads of uses. It makes a great moisturizer for the body and hair and I definitely recommend it, especially in the winter.

a quality organic jojoba oil properly packaged in dark glass and kept out of light is what you want to find. Not a massive bottle in plastic; that will not be of same quality.
That said:
as face moisturizer to balance skin, correct sebum levels, help with previous scars and damage, promote balanced oil production, and as a perfect base for makeup – when applied correctly! see below – jojoba oil is hands down THE best oil for the most skins out there. Yes, some say they don’t like it, and I get that, but I do have a history of breakouts where I thought jojoba was the culprit. I was wrong, I really feel jojoba oil is fine and have gone back to it numerous times. I prefer it even to pricier “dry” oils from deluxe brands, and I know that it won’t aggravate me with fragrance as the others can.
YOU NEED A MOIST SKIN. Just a cool wash cloth squeezed out and applied for 25 seconds to the face it perfect. Then put only three drops on your fingers, rub together fast and press gently into the skin. If you need more, add two to three more drops.
DO NOT apply on dry skin or with a heavy hand as it will not absorb well, and you’ll not see how wonderful it is! It should absorb in 5 minutes or so, totally in 10 minutes, and leave you with a gorgeous glow to the skin in 20 minutes. I wait about 30 minutes and then use my cover fx pressed minerals powder and maybe a hit of concealer on a scar and I’m good to go. Hours later, the skin is dewy but not oily, glowing but not shiny.
Save yourself a lot of grief. Try the jojoba.

I have been using the Trader Joe’s Brand recently but I also like NOW brand and many of the dropper style glass bottle organic brands that are sold on amazon. I think for travel the glass bottles are best because they don’t leak. I use jojoba oil for everything, my hair…as a leave in after washing, for my scalp, adding to shampoos and conditioners, everything. I use on my skin as a oil cleanser, moisturizer, makeup remover, on top of overnight masks, you name it. It makes my skin glow, it evens it out, and it plumps it up. I also like that it can be used around the eyes (I use grapeseed oil for all the same purposes and I find that it dries out my eye area). I think this is a good all around beauty product and it’s very inexpensive compared to “beauty oils” that tend to have a lot of fillers. I did not experience any breakouts upon including this in my daily routine, however I usually do not have issues with liquid oils on this skin, only things like coconut oil. I highly recommend if you are dealing with hyper pigmentation, it has completely removed all marks from my face. I use the peter Thomas Roth rose face mask at night, I apply as a heavy moisturizer and let it sit for 5 min, then add this oil on top….and it has completely changed the quality of my skin.

To start off, if you have a negative review on this, please listen closely. If your skin isn’t reacting positively at first, that’s okay. The first 3-8 days can be tricky. Because of the sebum-like substance, it tricks you natural sebum & oils into thinking it already produced it, so it stops producing it. Yet, the pimples that were already on your face are of course gonna pop because your putting “your natural” oil back on your face. Then, in 1-2 weeks your face should be clear and this should just be a nightly moisturizer.
Now, I love this product. I have oily, acne-prone, sensitive skin and it has been working so well. I’m only in the “purging” part of the treatment but it’s working. I use a gentle cleanser, rose water, and then rub a little oil on my face and leave it overnight. It works wonders. It is a bit on the pricy side, but if clear skin is worth it, I’ll pay.

I have combo skin, and occasional breakouts if I am using the wrong products or if it is ~that time of the month~, i mainly get blackheads and a lot of shine. a few months ago i was going through a bad patch with my skin after using too many products and a few hormonal ups and downs. because of my tendency to become extremely shiny in my t-zone i tend to stay away from oils, but i must say that jojoba oil has been a skin-saver for me! I usually use a couple of drops after face masks and in the morning before a light moisturizer and after a couple of months of use i can definitely see a change! My skin looks a lot healthier and feels softer and just a lot happier than it ever was! Quite surprised to see so many divided reviews to be honest, jojoba has been adopted by the majority of my relatives, men and women, aged between 20 (me) and 55 (my dad, who has eczema on his cheeks and around his eyes is a recent convert to jojoba, and loves it)!
