After reading all the reviews I waited to try this for awhile. I use the Australian Gold sunscreen and you need an oil or balm to remove it. I was using the Garnier waterproof micellar water. It worked but took a lot of product to get the sunscreen off. Cleansing oils don’t like me. My face gets red after I use them. In Target one day I thought try the CeraVe and if it does not work I can return it. I love this stuff. It removes the waterproof sunscreen and eye makeup easily. Two large cotton pads for my face neck and eyes is all it takes. I had to use 5 with other waters. It does sting my eyes at times, but I do them last and then go straight the Cerave Hydrating cleanser. Rub that in and any stinging stops. I have used other cleansers that truly burned my eyes ( First Aid Beauty) and left them red.
I would and have buy this again.
I have to add, I have repurchased this with a clear cap instead of the green one. not even a hint of eye stinging. Not sure what changed but it works as well as before.

Instant burning as soon as I used it. And it wasn’t washing off. I had the exact same experience with the cleansing cloths. I LOVE CeraVe moisturizer, lotion and ointment. But the makeup removing cloths and Micellar water are HORRIBLE. Stinging and burning like I have never felt before And do NOT use to remove eye makeup.

Ouch!! I first tried this for eye makeup removal and it burned my eyes so badly I flushed them quickly with water.
The next night I figured I would just use up the rest of the bottle as a makeup remover for my face. I was quite surprised that it burned just as badly on my skin.
I actually called the company (they have a toll free number on the back of the bottle ). I told them that I love many Cerave Products (moisturizer in the tub being one of my top favorites) and I was excited to try their new product with niacinamide and hyaluronic acid but I’ve never had a product burn my face and eyes so badly. They did say that any ingredient on different people could cause such a reaction. They were sincere in their concern about my bad experience. The company truly does want feedback from consumers.
I will stick to Bioderma when it comes to micellar water!

I really like this! I have recently switched from the Marcelle micellar water to this because of the niacinamide and hyaluronic acid in this. It does have a sticky-ish feeling immediately after use, but it impresses me every time with how soft my face feels once that has gone, which it does in about 15 minutes. You do have to keep this away from eyes, which is no big deal as I use Biotherm eye-makeup remover before this anyhow. Sometimes I follow this with La Roche Posay Toleriane cleanser and sometimes I reverse them. I believe this product has been helping in clearing up a fairly bad breakout which left my skin blemished and very tender. I will continue to buy this and look forward to using it each evening. I did take one lippie off for the packaging – I love the little pour spout, but it does come out pretty quickly so heads up if you are clumsy like me.

Was given this by a friend and I’m kind of glad I didn’t spend anything on it. It’s not a “bad” product per se, but it’s not for me. I use micellar water in the am, as a gentle way to wipe off traces of night cream and dead skin. While this isn’t harsh, it feels more like an astringent or solvent and leaves a slightly sticky sensation on my skin I have to rinse off. I’m a huge fan of CeraVe’s foaming cleanser and their eye cream, but I’ll give this one a miss.

It does burn your eyes but I don’t use it to take off my makeup, I use it more as a treatment because it has Niacinamide in it. My skin loves it. It’s so hydrating and gives my skin a glow. My pores look smaller since I started using this. I will definitely keep repurchasing.

I absolutely am in love with the ingredient list contained in the new CeraVe Hydrating Micellar Cleansing Water, Ultra Gentle Cleanser & Makeup Remover. This contains an impressive mix of multiple ceramides as well as niacinamide and hyaluronic acid. This does a great removing residue as well as makeup from the face and eye area. That is where my only issue with this product was. This can cause an amount of eye stinging and irritation. Quite a disappointment because otherwise this is an amazing fragrance free and alcohol free micellar cleanser that gives the skin numerous benefits. My video review can be seen here:

I bought this because I love all CeraVe products and I assumed I would love this one, too! It costs a little bit more than the other micellar waters at the drugstore, but at least it’s readily available and reasonably priced.
And it’s a pretty effective cleanser! Gets all the makeup off just fine. But HOLY CATS does it burn the eyes! And look, if I’m using something to remove makeup, that’s because I’m wearing makeup, which for me means always at least mascara. If I have to use something else to remove mascara, I just don’t see the point of using this.
Because I burn my eyes no matter how careful I am, I usually wind up rinsing this off. So there may well be great hydrating effects, but I wouldn’t know about them. Right now I’m just using up the bottle I have, and I don’t plan to repurchase.

I noticed saggy skin and my fine lines were more apparent after using this. My boyfriend also used it, and he now all of a sudden has laugh lines prior to not having them at all. We only used it a couple times and this is what happens? I returned it.

I tried this after trialing Bioderma’s Sebium micellar and finding it way too drying in winter for my super oily but dehydrated and sensitive skin. This stuff is wonderfully hydrating w/o clogging my oily skin, which is hard to find for me because my skin clogs w/ everything. Caused no reactions, and I thought the high niacinamide content would be an issue for me but it wasn’t at all. As other reviewers have noted, it does sting if it gets into your eyes, so use caution when removing eye makeup. I find that if I wet the cotton pad too heavily, it gets into the eyes and stings. If I don’t slop it on, then it does not seep past my eyelashes and causes no problems in that department, so I don’t have a problem using it to remove eye mu as long as I don’t slosh it on. My other favorite micellar is the regular Simple, which contains SAP, which is great for acne/pigment prone skin like mine, but when I want more hydration due to winter dryness, I use this stuff. The Simple does not seem to cause as much burning to the eyes, even when used as heavily. Sometimes I use the Simple to remove eye mu, then go over around the eyes w/ this stuff for a more hydrating second swipe. My only complaint is that it costs more than the Simple, but they are both easily available in most pharmacies, unlike the Bioderma which I have to order online. I do still plan to try the Bioderma Sensibio misellar to see how it stacks up against my two current faves, Simple and Cerave.
