I use this once a week on my dry, mature skin. For those that find the rubbing needed to move the product and dead skin off, use a oil when the friction gets a bit rough for your skin.

I really like gommages, but they just aren’t popular anymore, though I’m not sure why. I find it to be a gentler alternative to scrubs on my sensitive skin. This one smells like lemon drops. I use it when I have 4 minutes to wait for it to dry. (When I don’t, I use one by Clarins that dries in 1 minute). I no longer use any other Yon-Ka products, but I will continue to use this one.

I have used this product for at least 5 years. It’s the best for gently removing dead skin. My skin feels and looks brand new. I don’t use it as often as I should, which is once a week for me. The directions on the packaging aren’t clear on how to use it. You should gently rub while the product is slightly damp, not completely dry. Slightly damp the peel creates little “eraser bits” without much pressure. Most of time I don’t use 5 minutes, I just wait until it’s slightly damp in an area and go to work. Usually my whole face doesn’t dry at the same rate, and I have to wait for other areas of my face to dry to slightly damp. If you wait the full 5-minutes (or use overnight), you should spray with toner (maybe water?) and let it dry to slightly damp again.

Although my skin feels great after using this, I can’t help but feel that it’s doing my skin damage when I rub it off. It’s a fine line timing-wise to get it at a point where it’s just started to dry so can be rubbed off easily without tugging the skin, leave it 30 secs too long and it’s a much harder job.
Have tried leaving it on for a few hours as you can supposedly leave it on overnight as a treatment, but the results don’t seem to be any different.

I’ve been using this product for a few years now, and still love it. Not only does it exfoliate, but it also leaves my skin hydrated, and with a great glow. I like to leave it on for an hour or two, when I have the time, but even 15 or 20 minutes makes a noticeable difference. I live in a relatively cold, and dry climate with pretty drastic temp. differences, which can wreak havoc with my combination skin, but this product always leaves it in great condition. It is a bit pricey, but I’d never pay retail for it in Canada when I can get it on ebay; the professional sizes (if you’re sure that the product works for you) are especially worth it.

I got a facial at a local spa and the woman recommended this. It was ok, it smelled wonderfull but it didn’t DO anything for my skin that I could see. Also as with most Yonka products I don’t think you got enough product for the price. I won’t repurchase.

I like this product well enough, it didn’t produce any miracle and I have definitly used better exfoliants (Aloette Restorative Enzyme Peel and Origins Never A Dull Moment Scrub come to mind) but it works will enough. I probably won’t repurchase because I have used better products though.

I usually cannot use exfoliants of any kind because they leave my skin red and irritated and peeling. This one was excellent though. It had no harsh grains and left my skin soft and smooth with NO irritation. For skin that peels if you look at it funny this was a miricle. Will definitly repurchase.

Over the years I’ve used many, many gommage exfoliants and this is a head and shoulders above the rest. The gel texture is far superior for an oily skin type, it doesn’t contain any waxes, and it also doubles as an overnight hydrating mask. I love the herb-y citrus fragrance due to the essential oils, it doesn’t take forever to dry like some gommage exfoliants, it’s easy to remove, and it hydrates beautifully without leaving a waxy residue (like paraffin-based gommage exfoliants). I love this when I’ve been overdoing the RetinA, after a peel, or anytime my skin is dehydrated. Gommages are different from other exfoliants in that they are very hydrating, our YonKa trainer used to compare the exfoliating action to soaking a pan to remove the gummed-on residue. It “waterlogs” the dry suface cells and then they just roll right off when you sweep off the exfoliant. If you want to get a really effective deep-exfoliation with your at-home enzymes or acids, use this first and then use your enzymes or acids, it’s a great priming exfoliant for deeper treatments.

Ok ladies this stuff is amazing. You put it on for about 5 minutes and then literly peel it off. My skin ALWAYS looks so fresh and glowing like i just got a facial. No trace of dead skin or clogged pores at all
