An inoffensive enough body moisturizer, although not a patch on Cerave or even good old Aveeno. Got this in a 0.23 fl oz (7ml) sachet online – good for a couple of uses, although I have a strong suspicion that mine hadn’t been stored properly or has expired as it smells slightly rancid. There isn’t a sure-fire way to tell other than the code embossed on most products, for example A4769 on the underside of an Estee Lauder product would usually mean it’s a 2019 production as the last digit is the giveaway. BUT it apparently varies so best holding onto packaging and contacting manufacturer if ever in doubt.
Ok so back onto the product… It’s a mixture of several vegetable and carrier oils with a few other ingredients, nothing amazing in there – a pretty basic formulation. It is very perfumed so if you’re sensitive that’s something to be aware of (although doesn’t clash with perfume, it stays very close to the skin). I found it to be just an adequate moisturizer – definitely nothing to write home about. It does leave a slightly oily sheen but not overly so like TBS body butters, just enough to give a subtle glow. But the hydration doesn’t last very long…6 hours later I felt the need to re-apply on my legs (which btw are eternally parched!). Would have been better with brightening, renewing or exfoliating ingredients but it really is just a pretty simple and slightly overpriced body butter. Nothing more and nothing less.

The scent of this body butter is very pleasant, a bit like orange candy but more refined – delicious. I love the texture too, it’s thick but gel-like exactly like panna cotta if that’s possible and melts into the skin. Not oily at all. That said, I’m not sure it would be enough for dry skin as advertised. The packaging is pretty and understated. If it was less expensive I’d repurchase.

I have relatively dry skin all year round, so I’m always on the lookout for a good quality body lotion/cream/butter that will help to keep my skin nicely moisturised and the flakiness at bay. Step forward, Caudalie’s Vine Body Butter which I purchased on a recent day trip to London…
The first thing I would say is that this is expensive. It cost me 20.00GBP for a 200ml tube which when applying every day is definitely not going to last that long. For that reason alone I don’t think I would be tempted to repurchase it unless Caudalie released a bigger sized tube or tub (similar to Clinique’s Comforting Body Butter). And that’s the other issue – the tube this comes in isn’t very good quality. Like another reviewer here, the lid/top of mine has already broken and as the tube is made of a shiny, coated plastic material, once you’ve applied some to your skin and go to get more, it becomes very slippery making it virtually impossible to squeeze.
Having said all that though, so far I’m finding this butter a very pleasant one to use. It is VERY thick so you really don’t need much and I wouldn’t advise using this if you have normal or slightly oily skin, as it would take an age to sink in. For anyone with dry or super-dry skin like me though, it’s not so much of problem. There’s no doubt this moisturises your skin and it definitely lasts all day too which is good as you at least feel like you’re getting your money’s worth. The scent isn’t that great (to me it smells like liquorice allsorts and grape juice) but once applied and worked into the skin, it doesn’t linger so it shouldn’t interfere with any perfumes/scents you add on top.
If you’re willing to pay the high price, I would definitely recommend giving this a try, but you can pick up some much cheaper alternatives on the high street (The Body Shop Olive Body Butter is great and only costs 13.00GBP) which also come in better quality packaging and will last much longer.

I bought this without trying it based on the rave reviews for it on Sephora. This cream is indeed really thick and it does moisturize very well, but it takes a long time for it to soak in and it is a little greasier than I would prefer. Unlike a lot of people, I don’t really care for the fragrance, either. I was expecting the same herbal smell as other Caudalie products, so the citrus and grape notes in this were disappointing to me. I also wasn’t impressed with the packaging because the flip top broke off. The cream does work pretty well, particularly on very dry hands and feet in the dead of winter, but I don’t think I’d purchase it again, especially because it’s so expensive.

I love this brand and use quite a few things from them. I purchased this in a gift set and I was able to use it daily for about a month and half. It is very thick and moisturizes well. It smells like a light orange tic tac smell, which I love. It is too thick for me which is why I will not repurchase. I have normal skin and it takes too long to sink in. I never put on clothes until my lotion/oil is fully absorbed and this takes a good 20 min even in the winter. I really do like it on my feet and it is perfect for them. In fact I purchased the Foot Balm from Caudalie and it was so similar to this I returned it. I have given samples to friends with very dry skin and they love it.

I bought a gift set of Caudalie products with the Cabernet Scrub, Vine Body Butter, Foot Beauty Cream, Shower Gel, and Beauty Elixir. I was most interested in the scrub, but Body Butter was pretty good too. I have eczema and this cream, even though being heavy fragranced, didn’t aggravate that. It has a very fruity, floral scent and wasn’t overpowering, but it just isn’t my preference (I prefer my skincare and bath and body products to be fragrance-free). I could only apply this in the morning; the scent is too fruity for nighttime. It was interesting to try, but I won’t buy this again.

I bought this Caudalie (not sure about pronunciation here) bath set, all the while worrying that I might have a reaction to something in it having never used this brand before. I am happy to say that all my scary thoughts are put to rest. I have used many products over the years, most making me have reaction to them due to the SLS’s in them. This product line does not carry any SLS’s at all, nor parabens, nor any of the cones like the normal body products do. I am impressed, or I should say my body is impressed, lol.
The smell is amazing to me. I put a tad on the palm of my hand and rub my hands together then apply to my assorted body parts. I am engulfed in a sexy sweet smell that lingers enough to make me feel good all over, and the fast absorption of the body butter leaves a softness I have not felt in a long time. Between Caudalie and Boscia my skin has never been this soft before. I mix the Caudalie body lotion and this body buter and wow what a great smell and long lasting softness to my skin. I know my husband whom is working all night right now comes home after work and cuddles up to me when he goes to bed at around 7 am, and always tells me when he gets up at 5 pm, that I’m still soft and smell good at 7 am when he goes to bed. I give my husband a gold star for his loving words and Caudalie 2 gold stars for their skin softening abilities, and on my skin they deserve it! Smell does go away but I’m still soft.
The price is a bit steep, but for the quality I will save as many pennies as I can to afford this. I believe it is $28-$30 (depending on where you buy it) for a 6.7 oz. tube. If used in small amounts it should last at least a month. More than enough time for me to save my pennies for another tube. For me to buy this and Boscia is a good thing. I don’t have serious issues with my psoriasis and I am smooth and smell great, what can be wrong with that?
I also used the Caudalie body scrub, that however is for another time. For now this is a great buy for me and I will buy this again just to feel the softness of my skin and enjoy the smell. Best used right out of the shower and does not clash with my perfume. Caudalie also makes some scents and the one I have and have used is amazing, I love it. Home run Caudalie!
