I have been using indoor tanning beds for over 10 years so I have had my fair share of high-end and lower-end indoor tanning lotions. Before anyone gets their knickers in a twist about tanning, I must explain that I thoroughly practice safe sun. I know it sounds like an oxymoron to be using an indoor tanning bed and claim to practice safe sun but to clear the air; I never leave my house without sunscreen and when I will be in the sun for a long period of time I am sure to apply and reapply sunscreen hourly, I also only use the bed 2 times a week and avoid burning at all costs. Your body needs Vitamin D which it produces naturally from a chemical synthesis when the UV rays hit your skin. I also like the way my skin glows when I am tanned, it’s just a personal preference.
With that aside as I mentioned before I have used many different lotions from brands such as Supre Tan, Australian Gold, Swedish Beauty (discontinued Chocolate Diamonds was an ultimate favorite), Millennium Tanning, California Tan, Designer Skin – to name a select few. This Zero to Sexy brand is exclusive to Sally’s Beauty and is on the lowest end that I have purchased an indoor tanning lotion for, the most expensive being a $110 lotion from Supre Tan which was a great lotion but I could not fathom continuously spending that kind of money on such a frivolous item. I am happy enough with this product, it delivers a decent tan and that is all I expect from it. It also does not give off that yucky burnt bronzer smell after your tan. The scent is very mild, I cannot quite put my finger on the notes but it is somewhat floral. As with any indoor tanning lotions you should apply thoroughly to avoid streaking and wipe your hands after – I had no issues with streaking or staining of my hands. I cannot speak for it’s firming abilities as I have not seen anything yet but I do exercise daily so perhaps it will aid my toning process. Overall it is a decent indoor tanning lotion, perhaps good for a beginner and a good, cheap lotion to throw into your gym bag.
