I just used this today and I am shocked at how much I loved it. My only day off from work for the next almost 3 months was interrupted by the A/C in my apartment going out (on a 90-degree day in Georgia) and I was pretty desperate to take my mind off how hot I was. I found a packet of this I got as a GWP when purchasing an Ahava body lotion recently and decided that since I was probably going to take a cold bath anyway, I may as well take a cold swamp bath.
I slathered it all over myself in the empty tub (I used the entire packet, though I could have been less generous and saved probably 1/4 of the packet for another time) and let it dry for about fifteen minutes as I watched some trashy TV. Then I filled the bath with cool water and pink Himalayan sea salt, got in, and spent the rest of my show soaking in the salt/mud mixture (which smelled pleasant to me, a lot like the Gulf of Mexico), shaving my legs, etc.
I took a quick rinse shower (the mud rinsed off my tub with surprising ease), got out, and slathered Ahava’s body serum all over (also a fantastic product). And my skin is CRAZY GLOWING. It’s been easier to ignore how hot I am because I feel so light and refreshed and pretty! I am definitely going to grab a few more packets of this to have on hand — I think it will be awesome for fighting body acne (which I do still have, alas) but also great before a special occasion or whenever I miss the beach! I only recently discovered Ahava but I have, no joke, loved everything I’ve tried so far, and this product was fantastic. Definitely recommend for an at-home spa day to get glowing, even skin!

Great mud for body and ocassionally for the face, but I do find it a tad too drying for my face although it did make my skin look refreshed and clean. I really hate the packaging, but overall it’s a good value and I can tell it’s quality mud

I really love this!!! My skin is smooth and soft like silk, thanks to this product. When I washed it off, it made a bit of a mess in my bath, but it’s totally worth it. I have to say that the smell is horrible, especially when you heat it in the microwave (I didn’t try on the stove), but I’m willing to bear it just because of the results.
About the relief of aching muscles and back pain: it didn’t do anything about that. It’s a good product as a nourishing treatment, but not as a pain relief product.

Smells like sulphur, not sure what it’s supposed to do. I even microwaved it. Does nothing. Threw out the rest of the pack.

I have used 2 out of the 4 packets and I love this! I can not believe I let it sit on my shelf for so long. First I painted my whole body with a paintbrush and the mud, 2nd I got to sit in my bathroom and just relax. 3rd I felt just like a kid again… I really enjoyed playing with this and will continue to buy. It made my skin feel amazing afterwards and it rinsed off clean. Did it make a big mess? Yup but I enjoyed every minute of it. Like the other reviewers you need to use a heavy duty body balm/Butter afterwards as it will make dryer due to sucking out all the bad stuff. I must say that everytime I use this I my skin glows. Also the price is right since 4 packages for $25 is cheaper than the other kind they have in the squeeze tube for $20 ( 1 package= 1 Tube)

It is genuine Dead Sea Mud with original odor and texture and you can’t go wrong with that. May be it is not so much cosmetic as therapeutic really. A product is full of salt as well and this combination heals everything under the sun. After a week of daily use there was no pimple or sore on my body, though I suffer from eczema. It sure stings but it cures it. So if you cannot afford to go to Dead Sea coast, this is around $8 AUD for application, your skin will love it, acne and skin conditions respond to that very well

Not for sensitive skin types, even though it is all natural, I would not recommend for everyone. Im reviewing the green and white packet that is for body use only. Unfortunately I put it on my face before reading it wasnt for facial use lol. I know Ahava offers a mud masque for facial and hair use, but the green and white packet is for body use only. Along with others, this made my skin itch, and it even burned a little. I made the mistake of exfoliating my body first, like I normally do before a mud mask of any kind. Because this mud has so much salt in it, it will burn when applied to freshly exfoliated skin. If you dont apply it thickly, you will feel the tiny grains of salt in it , so this acts as an exfoliator and mask in one which is neat. I dont think this helped with sore muscles, but it did an awesome job at clearing up/drying up acne prone areas like my upper shoulders. It left me squeaky clean, but I wouldnt recommend to anyone with dry skintype. When I rinsed from my legs, they were dry to the point of being ashy, and I needed lotion. My upper body felt great after using this though. The verdict- this is nothing special, but if you have oily/acne prone areas on your body its worth buying a pack. I got this for $7.95 at a boutique. I dont know if I will re purchase, but Im glad I got to try real dead sea mineral mud. I know Ahava is the only brand legally licensed to carry authentic dead sea products from Israel. It took a few rinses for the minerals to go down the bath tub drain, but this didnt stain my tub or body or anything.

i wanted to love this, oh i SO SO wanted to love this. however i found it offered no improvements to my skin, didn’t offer relief to aches and sore muscles like it claimed, and the biggest turnoff…… left me smelling like sulphur

I got a box of 3 or 4 packettes at Winner’s – I’ve wanted to try Ahava because I know what DSS can do for helping to balance, detox and soothe the body and help tranmute old stuck energies. I just always thought they were way over priced (up to a short while ago I could buy DSS in bulk for next to nothing at a local grocer – alas, they renovated and never brought the DSS back!). However here we are talking about DS Mineral Mud – can’t buy that in the bulk section!
I thought I’d try it because it was discounted. I really love it – I save it for special home spa treatment days. It makes my skin look so firm and smooth and healthy – perfect before going ‘tropic’. You just gotta get into the fun experience of slattering yourself with smooth, thick mud! I love it! I step into the tub and put it on all over, then lay in the tub with a bath pillow to relax while it works. Who cares about the mess? It just rinses away really easily, no staining, no sticking. It seems I feel a bit of tingling/stinging right at first but it quickly goes. When I’m done I just shower it off (along with my tub!).
The packettes aren’t very easy to manage – you want to cut them open before you start and next time I think I’ll even dispense it into something else first – once your hands get started with the mud it’s really hard to manage the packette and get the rest out.
I would buy again if I find them again, especially on sale. I also just got a tub of their DDS (unscented) for $14 – I’m sure they will be lovely too – it will be interesting to see how it compares to the grocery store bulk stuff I was using before.
UPDATE: I kept the last pack forever, and just used it for a home spa day to destress. I started with a salt scrub then showered off, put on a hair and face mask and lined my bathtub with a large dark fleece, doubled over, put layers of old towels on top then a plastic sheet on top of that and got in, applied the mud and wrapped myself up for 20 min. It was heavenly.

I think the product works excellent.
Thank you very much.
