Body powder has been part of my life since my teens, when a friend’s mother made fun of me for travelling with my big box of Chanel no. 19 dusting powder. From here, I moved onto Penhaligon’s Bluebell powder for years and years. When talc became a concern, I searched for alternatives and hit the jackpot with Dr Hauschka body powder. Came along at just the right time in my life, too, when I was streamlining my products — the packaging is wonderful in its handy tin that travels everywhere or perches on the bathroom counter. The fresh clean herbal-y sent and slighty grainy texture is delightful and refreshing and I need that, having always been a heavy perspirer, at least twice a day. Oh, boy, is it perfect for menopause hot flashes! Anyway, I am truly addicted and could not ever be without it. Very highly recommended!

This is a truly versatile product and as I am getting older (and hopefully wiser hehe) I am trying to limit the amount of products on my bathroom shelf and only purchase the ones that really deliver. And preferably in more than one category!
I use this powder as 1) a face powder (mixed for colour with a bit of L’Oreal Translucide which is a talc-free as well – Hauschka’s powder is a bit too gritty and flat to be used on it’s own) to set my sunscreen (which could otherwise be destabilised by talc in a traditional powder) and as 2) a dry shampoo (in this case the fresh perfume of the Hauschka’s product definitely helps! I do not like it so much on my face though.).
My hair is dark, fine and on the second day without washing usually looks limp and flat. With this as a dry ‘shampoo’ I am able to squeeze one more day out of it. I was really surprised that it does not leave any chalky residue and gives a real lift to the roots.
I have tried numerous dry shampoos and texturisers to achieve this effect (so far Toni and Guy was the best as it was completely translucent but it is quite expensive in the long run) but no longer I will need to have these products in my bathroom. I rub this powder in section by section into the roots of my hair, massage it in so that the whiteness disappears, leave it there for a while to soak in all the oils and smells (I would usually brush my teeth then) and brush it out = hello bouncy, lifted, refreshed hair that smells nice!
I am on my third bottle of this product and yes, it is a bit on the expensive side but on the other hand it works well as a 3 in 1 (if you use it as deodorant or body powder as well which I do not) and truly delivers. Will definitely repurchase!

I have read many positive reviews on this product, and I wonder if it’s just me who got problem with it. First of all, I live in Asia, it’s always very hot and humid in the summer, pretty much like living in a gigantic sauna room. I got DH body powder from DH distributor at 50% off 2 years ago (2007). I love the scent, it’s clean, herbal and refreshing, the texture is alright but not as refined as I’d like it to be. My major problem with this body powder is, after awhile, when you rub the skin where the powder is applied, the powder (mixed with sweat) comes off like play dough!!?? I wonder if this happens to other users in hot and humid climate… and I do not know if it has been reformulated since, I am a big fan for organic products and DH, I love most of DH products, but definitely won’t repurchase this body powder again, at least not when I stay in Asia for summer.

I got this as a gift. I had no idea of the price, so of course when I went to repurchase I got wholloped with sticker shock. I just can’t bring myself to spend nearly 40 bucks on a powder. Gold Bond Ultimate Comfort works for the body for 4 bucks. If I’d known how much it cost, I would’ve used it much, much more sparingly. I used this stuff as body powder, dry shampoo, and face powder–in that order, for most days, until I ran out. I adored the smell, and the texture was very fine. I should’ve known, I just didn’t expect my relative to spend that much ;p Maybe when I have a ton of money to burn I’ll go for this again, but this is a luxury I just have to pass on for now.

I must have gotten a bad batch of this powder! I like the smell and the packaging but I sure don’t find it to be “silky.” This actually feels almost gritty to me. I will keep using it though because I paid so much for it.

I’m a big fan of Dr.Hauschka, especially facecare.
I bought this powder while wandering around in a store that carries these products and it was a matter of 1 second, because if I waited more I would have dropped it there, because of the 24 EURO price tag!
Very expensive for me. It’s true I mainly needed it as a face powder and most good face powders are equally expensive, still… 24 EURO!
I have a big jar of pure rice powder scented with hibiscus that costed me 8 EURO and will last forever. The problem is that the rice powder is less finely milled and too whitey.
I don’t usually put talc or powder on my body, but I always have powder on my face. This one is just great, which helps coping with high price.
It’s finely milled (maybe not as much a Chanel powder but it’s good), it’s white or slightly satin, it’s translucent as effect and it really keeps oil at bay! It fixes foundation and I think that you can also use it as a powder primer for both powder and some liquid mineral foundations.
The scent is unusual but fine and herbal, I like it as I like most Dr. Hauschka product scents.

I LOVE this powder. I use it as a face powder. Yes, it is pricey, but it lasts a long time and is so worth it. It doesn’t contain any objectionable ingredients and is great at controlling oily skin. I will definitely be buying this again.

Love everything about this powder.
The packaging is how ‘proper’ body powder should come packaged, its smells fresh and clean and leaves skin silky. Works well as a face and hair powder too as advertised (tried both out of curiosity).
Am using this mainly as a body powder, however, and in conjunction with the Floral deodarant (which I’ve not reveiwed yet as I wanted to see if it does indeed work better over time although so far I’m happy with it but I digress!). It doesn’t irritate dry skin either.
Will definitely repurchase.

This body powder is wonderful! I don’t use any perfume so this is my alternative to smell and feel great, the scent is a very subtle rose so it works with my DH rose body lotion and i like that you can use it on your hair and a face powder. The only thing that i don’t care for is the packaging it has a mind of its own and it’ll open by itself and spill in your purse for that price you don’t wanna waste a thing of it…….

I absolutely love this body powder. It’s absorbent with a pleasant texture and light scent – wonderful in the Summer and after light exercise. (I tried a less expensive natural body powder, but ended up throwing it away.)
