Love this. Use it on myself, my husband and my infant. We live in Florida and we are always getting bothered by mosquitoes. Also small little gnats and Noseeums. This balm keeps all that at bay it smells nice and it is not disgusting like most insect repellants.
The only thing that I find inconvenient is that of course it is a balm and it is difficult and takes time to apply. But that’s OK with me because I would still rather use this than anything else.
If you order directly from badger they always send a huge sample and you can usually ask for what you want. I got this balm for free when I ordered sunscreen.

Wonderful at keeping the bugs away and didn’t smell too gross either. Has a light lemon scent. The non spill tin is great for hiking and taking with you camping. The base is made with bees wax though so it’s not vegan:/

It’s great that this is made with natural ingredients, but I found it utterly ineffective. If anything, it seems to attract mosquitoes and gnats. I’ll keep looking for a natural and effective insect repellent.
Active Ingredients: 10% Organic Castor Oil and Essentail Oils of 5% Organic Citronella, 2% Organic Cedar, 2% Organic Lemongrass, 1% Organic Rosemary, & 1% Organic Geranium.
Inactive Ingredients: Organic Extra Virgin Olive Oil and Organic Beeswax.

I used this product on a trip to the tropics, more specifically, an estuary in the tropics. So I can say with a healthy degree of confidence that it does a fair job at repelling mosquitoes. The people who came with me on the trip were instantly attracted by the product’s charming packaging and pleasant, botanical scent. Once they tried it, they were hooked too. Everyone was satisfied with its effectiveness, even people who were skeptical of “natural” insect repellents. The down side of this was that it was gone in a couple of days. I will definitely buy this product again. (As a caveat, I must say that I have not used “mainstream” insect repellents in many years; thus, I cannot fairly compare this product’s performance to the performance of non-botanically-based products.)

I passed this bug balm around at an evening barbeque last summer, and everyone agreed that it works great to keep the mosquitos away. I feel good about using it on my kids, I don’t use deet or other chemical repellents on them. You might need to reapply more frequently than you would with a deet product, but for me that is a small price to pay for effective, natural protection. I love the push-up stick, so that you can apply the product without getting it on your hands. Be careful not to screw the cap on too tight, I did on mine and it caused the cap to split apart. Again, small detail for such a great product. Will definitely continue to purchase.

I purchased this product at the beginning of the summer. I hate using chemicals on my body, but have to use an insect repellant because I get extremely bad reactions to bites. This product is all natural and it really works! I spent a week in Louisianna along the River Road and even did a swamp tour without getting a bite. The most unique quality of this product is the packaging. It is a solid, and comes in a tube shaped plastic container. You screw off the lid and push the solid up (sort of like a deodorant stick). You just glide the solid across your arms, legs, etc. I won’t be caught without this.

I use this every day and night in the summer; and haven’t been bitten by a mosquito since!
Great smell and texture, and I will definetly repurchase, although I find you can acheieve the same anti-bug results just by wearing a White Musk perfume to bed. Although, this smells nicer.

Have not found this to be effective at keeping away bugs, so am now using as a foot balm, for which it is fairly effective. Main ingredients are olive oil and beeswax, with herbs and essential oils thrown in. Would try another scent in badger balm, but not this one.
