I have long, blonde, wavy, fine hair. I use this shampoo (not the conditioner), because it makes my hair shiny, clean, and the chamomile enhances my natural highlights. I use it about twice a week as a clarifying shampoo as it is admittedly too drying for me as a daily shampoo. Would recommend for blondes.

I am a sucker for any poo that has glistening, glossing, brilliant etc in title. This, and the matching conditioner, is misnamed. Made my very normal hair look dry, matt and dry. I love the bottle. But really disappointed. Shame.

Love this, it is a clear gel great for my oilier roots and drier ends. Not expensive. I always air dry my hair and only use natural hair care mainly. The scent is a little blah, but it works well, so I like it anyways.

The quality of this product is good, but it just didn’t work for me. This matted my dry, coarse, frequently-dyed hair.

The first thing that drew me to this line was because it’s SLS free. I liked the smell of the ylang ylang the best, though it does smell slightly different during use and on my hair than it does right out of the bottle. Overall, like the smell and have noticed my hair is pretty shiny… or more oily, maybe? I do need to wash everyday. It’s not too drying. I seem to use a whole lot of it to get that “squeak” feeling when I’m washing. I like the bottle; price is not bad, but I’m not one to spend alot on shampoo. This is about $5-7 at Whole Foods depending on if it’s on sale that week. Haven’t used the conditioner.

i have stick straight, shoulder length, fine hair and i have had great luck with this shampoo. i could never go a day without washing and with this stuff, my hair would be flat, dull and just grody on the 2nd day. i now can wash every other day, sleep an extra 20 mins and my hair actually looks better on the 2nd day. leaves my hair soft and shiny. organic – no SLS, no animal testing -bonus! i wish they would make this in a bigger bottle. a little more than i like to spend, i think i paid $8 or $9 for 11oz. but eh, its worth it since i’m washing 1/2 as often. i lather this up, use a decent conditioner and its all good.

Love it! Avalon Organic is one of the best brands EVER! No parabens, or artificial ingredients or chemicals.

I loved the Avalon shampoos (particularly the lemon verbena and rosemary) and conditioners before they changed the formulas. I took a chance and tried the ylang-ylang shampoo in the new formulation. I think this is more drying (which may be good if you have really oily hair) than the old formula was. While I liked the smell at first, it is getting a bit headache-inducing and sweet for me now (has a bit of a chemical undertone to it that I never noticed before). I miss the old formulations something fierce.

Maybe it was because I didn’t buy the avalon ylang ylang conditioner along with the ylang ylang shampoo I bought, but this shampoo left my hair dry, gritty, and super tangle. I don’t think I would ever buy it again.

First of all, let me say that if you have non-colored, oily hair, this shampoo could be your Holy Grail. The ingredients are very similar to Pureology and about 1/4 the price.
The mica in this product ruined my hair color AND gave it that wet rubbery sticky feeling anyone who’s been on swim team can relate to — a feeling of stripped hair.
The fragrance though is FANTASTIC: the truest ylang ylang I’ve ever found. The conditioner is excellent though and undoes the rubbery feeling from the shampoo.
Still, I cannot recommend for color treated hair. Natural oily haired girls, go for it though, I am envious. Wish I could use this one.
