previous reviews have pretty much captured the description of this- the fact it doesnt lather, the way it conditions hair as well as cleans, so makes hair soft and-fluffy, and noticeably the last reviewers comment- smells like cheap fabric softener, lol.
If I saw this at a local store, I might buy it if I needed shampoo, but the scent is kinda off-putting. I prefer brands like Leonor Greyl or Furterer.

I loved this stuff to death. Made my dyed hair soft, manageable, and kept it clean longer than expected. My ONLY complaints are A) the scent and B) YOU CAN’T FIND IT IN QUEBEC! Even professional beauty supplies don’t carry it anymore, and 30$ dollars or more +shipping is not something I’m about to pay online.
My main complaint is the scent, which to me smells like cheap fabric softener crossed with industrial cleaning solution. It was strong when using it and while my hair was wet, but afterwards it faded to a lighter floral scent when dry. I wouldn’t use conditioner after this. I did find it would build up if not rinsed properly but I would shampoo about once a week or so with an anti residue shampoo if I found my hair getting too heavy or was getting scalp buildup.
If I could easily get my hands on this I would probably buy several years worth to be honest, but unless I can find it cheaper I’ll be sticking to my Hair Expertise EverPure Cleansing Balm.

Two things before I go into detail. This gave me very, very nice moisturized supple feeling hair (I have fine wavy/curly locks & it felt thicker and luscious). Second, NO LATHER WHAT SO EVER, IT IS LIKE WORKING LOTION INTO YOUR SCALP, you will need more than you think, but not to Wen excess. Some of you may have stopped reading there, but if you are interested, move on…it is intriguing stuff.
USE: Ok, so this is a cleaning balm, no lather…NONE. You squeeze the balm into your hands and work it into your scalp massaging it a bit and working down the hair shaft a bit. It feels like putting lotion on your scalp/hair. I usually bend my head over forward so my hair lifts off of my scalp and work it in that way so the balm gets to the scalp and doesn’t just sit on the top layer of hair. I personally always use a rinse out conditioner after using this…it just helps with my curls regardless. I usually also always use a leave in conditioner on the very tips of my hair. So, for me, this just replaced my shampoo, not shampoo and conditioner. All my other hair products stayed the same, this just replaced my shampoo. The final hair product when all was dried and done was chunky, durable (not pulled out easily) curls that felt thick and moisturized (a great feeling for my fine wavy hair).
SCENT: It does have a bit of a men’s cologne smell…somewhere between that and a salon smell. It is strong at first, but it does not last at all on me. I am pretty sensitive to smells.
DISCLAIMER: I have not been able to make myself use just this, non-stop for weeks at a time . I don’t know why. It might be news of the Wen lawsuit and me wondering…what if something in here is in there that is doing bad stuff to me (fyi, no menthol in UniqOne). Or if I am wondering if I am actually getting it clean. Either way, I would keep a clarifier on hand for use every 2 weeks or so. I also, sometimes wonder if I am losing more hair when I use this…but it is hard to tell because it requires so much more working through the hair. There are also some days, when I just want to move things along faster and will just use my AG Colour Savour shampoo. I can still shampoo every other day with this, but going every two days can be pushing it. So if push it too far, that is when I usually need something stronger to make my hair feel better.
PACKAGING: It comes in a tube. There is a safety lock on it you have to pop off when you first buy it, but then it is easy to open and shut.
PRICE: Full price it is $20 for a decent sized tube, but I have got it on sale for $10 and see it on amazon.com at that price too. Ulta used to carry it, but not sure if they do anymore.
REVIEWS: Look around the internet, over all this stuff gets really, really good reviews. Especially where it is easier to get like overseas. Even here thus far they are pretty good.
FINAL THOUGHTS: This is my favorite cleansing conditioner product I have tried including Wen and other CO methods. If I had to choose one of these type products, I would choose this one. That said, I am not a huge fan of this method regardless. I just crave a bit more…but my hair is fine and fine hair needs a bit more work to keep it from getting greasy…even if you have curls. It is hard to get, but I have seen it on clearance at Ulta recently (so it is going to get even harder to get). But you can get this for $10 on clearance. I like to keep it on my shower, use it once a week or so, but haven’t used it non-stop.
Also, I have not used this paired with the matching spray on leave in conditioner…just used this.

Oh dear sweet Gods Of Revlon,
I implore thee to stop making this product because it has triggered an infavourable reaction from myself. This reaction is called “Bloody hell I’m addicted to this miraculous stuff”.
I used it not once, not twice, not even thrice – I tried it… fice? Fource? What the heck is the word for “4 times”? Oh who cares. It worked wonders on my hair which at best can be non-compliant and at worst just downright disobedient. Soft. Bouncy. Shiny. Made my henna’d locks weep with joy; it smooths the unsmooth bits and does it without leaving me to the disaster which is colloquially known as “Oh…you dunked your hair into a bottle of lard”.
If you will not ease me of my anguish, could you please just make sure I can always get some more?
Yours with sincere gratitude

PS. Don’t even think about hiking up the price when you realize lots of people actually love the product. I’m onto you..
PPS. It smells nice, too.
PPPS. And a little goes a long way.

This product is fantastic! I literally just found it at a random sale and figured I needed new shampoo anyway. Unlike regular shampoo though, this one does NOT lather, but from what I’ve researched, lathering means theres chemicals which can strip your hairs nutrients and natural oils. Its perfectly normal for this one not to lather, and I just make sure my hair is wet so I can really spread it out.
I love the smell and my hair feels really really clean! I haven’t touched conditioner since I’ve started using this and I feel great!!
The only thing I really don’t like about it is how hard it is to get the product out. It’s like squeezing paste out of a needle size hole… But totally worth it. haha

Okay, my rubbish man will not be happy as I will be dumping almost all my shampoo & conditioners in the bin after trying this! This is an all in one cleansing balm which really does the job! First of all the tube is HUGE! I ordered it online and when I received my package I literally did a double take when I took it out. Second of all, the smell… It’s utterly gorgeous… I can’t stop sniffing my hair… I have coloured, coarse, shoulder length hair and this stuff works magic on it. It’s soft, manageable, has volume and it shines like crazy! Love the fact that it doesn’t contain sulphates & silicones but still manages to really clean my hair while making it so soft and shiny. It saves me a step in the shower which is a big plus as well. It doesn’t lather, it kind of feels like you are using conditioner instead of shampoo texture-wise. Just distribute it on your sopping wet hair, comb it through with your fingers and leave it in for 1-2 mins. It also provides heat protection, I’m just so much in awe right now :)… I just use a little Biosilk after blow drying my hair and voila, ready to go. Do I dare say it..? Holy Grail all the way!!! HIGHLY recommended!

I love this stuff. You use the tiniest amount. Massage it through the scalp and then through the ends. It doesn’t lather. Leave it on for a few minutes, don’t bother with conditioner. My hair is thoroughly processed (bleached platinum with pink dye) and it does not lift the colour at all which is amazing for something like baby pink. It is moisturizing. My hair is lovely and lightly scented when damp, dries to essentially no odour at all for people who are sensitive to that. Easy to comb through. Feels fabulous! Love it. Would definitely buy again.
